I worked on the doorstep of SJP (St James' House) when we signed him. I wasn't enthusiastic enough to cross the road to welcome him. Might be why he never arsed himself for me either.

All we know for a fact with NUFC is they do the unexpected. Taking my nephew to his first game, so hope we don't score too many. That sort of thing can build expectations unreasonably.

I'll be busting out my easiest start stats in a few weeks. Exciting times.

I was genuinely confused why this was noteworthy, but had to re-read it. I read it as Sports Direct rather than NUFC Direct. So when you go to the official club website and three quarters of the screen is about what NUFC kit you can buy...the suggestion is it's affiliated with Sports Direct and they'll see the profit, rather than NUFC?

A month later? Di Canio was 3 minutes late for training this morning and had fined himself before he got there. THAT's how you do it.

I tend not to read sports books. Not even Moneyball Fever Pitch and Damned United were the only ones I can recall and they're like blonde on blonde. People look at you funny if you haven't read them. The new David Peace one on Shankly is supposed to be awful though isn't it?
