  1. http://davidsimon.com/lost-in-a-symptom-the-nation-on-marijuana-reform/ Wire Creator David Simon very cogently questions the legalisation of da weed.
  2. One for Parky... http://www.truthdig.com/report/item/imploding_the_myth_of_israel_20131103 Lot's of horrible details, like...
  3. I'd keep your deposit for infesting my flat if I was the landlord you dirty tramp.
  4. Read more: http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/blogs/taibblog/chase-isnt-the-only-bank-in-trouble-20131105 I said above bankers can't see the people they hurt, to read about them mocking their customers as they steal from them raises my ire towards them somewhat.
  5. Finally, in chrome, on any web page, you can click the 3 lines in the top right...tools...create application shortcuts and save that page to your desktop. Just tried it with Toontastic and got a lovely NUFC badge icon for the link on my desktop Same with Twitter. They open as concealed apps (no address bar to move anywhere else), with the site icon on the bottom bar too, rather than a chrome icon.
  6. Also....you can right click an app on Chrome's app page...create shortcut...and add it on your desktop...I just created a facebook one and it is a nice facebook icon as you seem to want
  7. It's limited like. I use it, but Twitter don't have an official chrome app, for example. you have to use Silverbird which is accessed from the top of the page. Your other alternative is mybrowserpage.com It sets you up with a windows 8 style homepage with your bookmarked websites presented as different sized boxes... http://mybrowserpage.com/
  8. ...or even more like what you describe is the google app launcher which runs from your desktop.. https://support.google.com/chrome_webstore/answer/3060053?p=cws_app_launcher&rd=1&hl=en
  9. If you have your bookmarks bar displayed then on the left of it there an "apps" button. You can add all the apps you like to that page and they all display as the company icon for the app (page) you're opening. I think that's what you want. Open chrome once and see all your app icons.
  10. If you have any thing more than a recycle bin on your desktop it's too cluttered
  11. Always said it. Taylor is the biggest liability we have at the back.
  12. I might have inferred that one from the other 2
  13. Took my 6 year old nephew to his second game for this one. His first was Hull and what should have been a guaranteed 3 points. Had to tell him not to be a pissy bairn when he started to moan about the defeat then. So for this one I spent the week building his resilience to a loss, making sure he was aware of the gulf in class and thae fact we had no hope whatsoever. He was as bored as anyone first half and kept saying what we all think..."when's it half time?", "how long is left?"...."this is shit!!" that sort of thing. Second half when it came alive was great though. He's only 3ft so he was up and down like a yoyo standing on his chair to see what was happening every time we got within 30 yards. The noise when we scored eclipsed the noise against Hull obviously, so he loved that. But the best thing is what an education those 2 games have been for a new Newcastle fan. Sums up this ridiculous club completely for him, that we would lose to Hull and then deservedly beat Chelsea. Now he knows what he's in for over the next 70 odd year
  14. Bastard that he is, scuppering christmas. Cheers anyway.
  15. Google's coming up blank on the name you've given it. Are you sure that's what it's called? Could make a good Christmas present
  16. Aye. Let's you toggle any settings, launch apps, or whatever else your phone will do.
  17. What does android not back up? I don't need to plug my phone in to back it up at all. My Google account knows all my apps, appointments, contracts etc. Takes seconds to have them set up on a new phone or tablet from the cloud. Only thing I can think you might lose is texts. So there you need a third party app like mighty text.
  18. I bought a pack of 10 nfc sticker tags from Amazon for coppers. Got one stuck to my desk at work for silence/vibrate/WiFi off etc. One by the bed for turning the brightness right down.... one in the car to send a message to the wife with a 20 minute warning. That sort of thing. It's not a massive time saver or owt but worth the pennies to have a go.
