If it was on the goal line it would have got given. It's another rule they've made as murky as the offside by applying interpretations.

You cant build a team around the lad because he's just not a team player. He did nowt in the first 40 minutes on boxing day. Against 9 men with all the space in the world he was incredible. Most frustrating and enjoyable player I've watched, all at the same time. You would hope Arsenal come looking to win and worry about their own players more than ours though, so hopefully the shackles will be off again. If he starts.

It exemplified for me what a shit manager Mark Hughes is. One nil up away at a difficult ground to pick up points, a prick of a player goes in for a cynical kick and gets himself justifiably sent off. That's the time a manager needs to move on, calm his team down, see the game out to half time, reshuffle and hold onto the 3 points. The daft prick threw one of the funniest wobblies any of us could have ever seen and his team followed his lead. Wanker.

All the Aussie bits are shit and Colin Farrell is shit. 7 or 8 out of 10 at most. Nowhere near perfect. -
I never called you a liar. Our first discussion on here was about the low income a taxi driver receives. With my dad on the taxi's I know full well how tight things are in that line (you were arguing it's an excellent income back then like so we'll ignore that). My view was only shaped by your posts. I found it remarkable that you could be in the lowest 10% of earnrsand give a running commentary on purchases - aquarium, home gym, expensive teas and coffees, gym membership, iphone, sky tv, pub meals, hotel meals and stays etc. My assumption was that you must have savngs or other income that was enough to make you comfortable as a man of leisure. This assumption was cemented by your enthusiasm for Tory governance. I guess your personal situation has worsened since the tories got in if you could afford a season ticket but you can't now. Even more confusing that you'll staunchly argue against your own interests. As someone lucky enough to have built enough equity to restrict yourself to a £220 mortgage on a property that houses 5, you're clearly not someone the minimal criteria of the calculator is aimed at though are you? Housing usually costs much more than £10 per person per week, and the "poverty line" is based on an assumption that housing costs will be several times that for a family with no savings/property to their name.

Aye, you can shuffle an artist, an album or a playlist.

I know you've said before you have "a nice big mortgage" and you have a penchant for giving the benefit "scroungers" stick, so you can't be on any hand outs. If it was: £400/month mortgage (which wouldn't be at all big), £100/month Council tax, say £70/month on power, you've told us your sky package is £29/month. I pay £50 a WEEK on petrol and i do 3 miles to work and back a day. you must be on much more than that, but I'll say double to be generous. £100 a week would be £433 a month on petrol. I'll not include your subs for the office as i don't know what you pay. Water rates and TV licene is another £30. The poverty line for a couple with 1 kid under and 1 over is less than £21k, which is £1750 a month. Given your costs you've got £670 a month to feed and clothe your family of 4. Which isn't beyond the realms of believability even if it does stretch the amount of petrol/diesel a taxi driver can get around on. What is remarkable, is that you spend your £5.50 a day on things like this and this and THIS and this as well as a season ticket. You can see why there are doubters.

That pointless New Years resolution thing...

See the drinking thread. Nipper is 5 month now and i haven't been enjoying any time I've woke up with a stinking hangover and been handed him to entertain. I'd rather be sober and enjoy that time than spend £100+ on a night I don't remember surrounded by kids I have nowt but contempt for.... AND be miserable the next day. First test of my resolve is a birthday do on Monday night. ...might refine my approach to avoiding binge drinking and still enjoy a couple of pints if I have to be out. -

"return to form" wasn't the criteria your criteria for his quality output changed from his standards slipping after coming off the drugs (which he did prior to Raging Bull - 1980) to them slipping 20 years ago (1993). In truth he was only on the drugs for a couple of years years. I've no problem with your view of the quality of his films, I can agree to disagree on that. It's factually wrong to suggest he had a string of hits on drugs though. If anything the drugs were only ever detrimental to him. He only hit them hard after he'd made the brilliant Mean Streets/Taxi Driver, he then went completely to rat shit with New York New York(awful) and The Last Waltz, Raging Bull was his return to form having come off the drugs. De Niro is credited with saving his life getting him clean to make that film. -

Of those I mentioned, only Goodfellas and King of Comedy fall outside your new criteria. Barely anyone makes a single film as good as Raging Bull or Taxi Driver in their whole career. So probably a bit much to expect that standard to be maintained for all of a 4 decade career. I'll guarantee you now that this one isn't as good as either of those too. He's made plenty of brilliant films that were highlighhts of the year over the past 2 decades though -

You're spot on.... apart from Boardwalk Empire, Shutter Island, The Departed, Gangs of New York, Bringing Out The Dead, Casino, Goodfellas and the King of Comedy all being somewhere between brilliant and perfect like. -
