  1. Don't worry, you joined to have a pop at an Ashley apologist and now you think he's a genius. No surprise you've gone from Pardew hater to touting him for England, to wanting him sacked to being delighted with the stability he offers. Your complete failure to hold a consistent, coherent view of people's abilities is indicative of your flimsy point of view on any matter you post about and is thoroughly predictable now.
  2. Just been told we're safe...for this quarter anyway. Company is committed to losing 29,000 by October though so we'll see how long that lasts.
  3. Lee Sales Team is a remarkably apt name.
  4. What's stable about 12th, relegated, promoted, 12th, 5th and 16th. Yoyoing all over the shop compared with 3rd, 5th, 7th, 13th and 14th in the 5 years prior to Ashley. Having the same manager for 3 years isn't stability if he's totally inconsistent.
  5. Half as many posts as Fish today though, he deffo deserves the 30% cut
  6. Aye, times like these are shitters. They're taking on dozens and dozens of cheap grads at the same time. Shocking stuff. I'm the youngest in the team so ironically I'm best equipped for finding another job...but probably less likely to get the chop.
  7. If I do get redundancy I've got 13 years coming to me so should have plenty time to sort myself something out as well....but I've got a wife and kid and 3 mortgages...if it's just you renting a place then it sounds a perfect chance to do a world tour before locking yourself into another job.
  8. Don't forget the bore hole either. That will have boosted fitness.
  9. 40% of our team made redundant in the last 6 months. Supposed to find out in the next couple of days who's next. 2 out of 11 this time. Glad CT is convinced by the recovery though.
  10. Aye. Think I said when it came out I wasn't sure about it. Said it needed more viewings...but i don't think I'll ever be inclined to put it on again, unconventional as it might have been. The actors in Sightseers apparently wrote most of the script which makes for a much more conventional story so it pulls you in much better. His wife (Amy Jump) seems to have had more to do with Kill List and sole responsibility for AFIE so I think the level of her involvement correlates with the level of weirdness in his films.
  11. Just watched it last night. Do you still stand by your 1/10 given that it did all happen? Is believability more important than the truth in a film? I've read that they left out some of the other stuff she had to do (Nix then ordered her to insert her fingers into her vagina and expose it to him as part of the "search") and I guess the oral sex was heavily implied rather than explicitly stated because they feared reactions like yours. The thing that I didn't like about it was that they brought in a traditional beauty to play the victim. Louise Ogborn wasn't a dog or anything, but she was just a plain, glasses wearing kid without the Hollywood glamour. Leaves a sour taste that they had fatties and old folk in all the other roles as it suggests they choose to dramatise a real live sexual assault case in order to titilate. Otherwise I thought it was well made and worthwhile. It left me more shocked than the news stories which detailed the more explicit reality, I read those before watching but more easily dismissed it as "stupid Americans" wheras the film leaves you to ponder Milgrim and that more.
  12. http://www.physioroom.com/news/english_premier_league/epl_injury_table.php Top 4 all still in Europe? I'm sure the facilities and fitness people at Arsenal, Man U, Swansea and Spurs are all shite and playing more games over thousands of miles has less effect than undersoil heating though
  13. Aye. It's not a black or white choice of investing nothing whatsoever or pissing money up the wall. There is an approach to sustainable investment. It doesn't involve breaking your transfer record to sign a crock whose entire game was built on pace,
  14. No actually, it was 14. Well corrected The squad played 14 extra games. Travelled hundreds of miles to do it and played/trained with greater fatigue. Rarely were any players left at home altogether. Apart from Bigirimana, Obertan and Marveaux all the players with most European games were first teamers.
  15. Arsenal's sound financial planning saw their debt more than double from £150m in 2005 to £320m by 2008 http://blog.emiratesstadium.info/archives/10230 The notion that Ashley is following their model by refusing to allow any further debt to accumulate is patently ridiculous.
  16. Arsenal never dropped out of the top 4. They invested hundreds of millions in a brand new stadium. Almost every year of "sound financing" included spending between £30m and £50m on players, just to stay in the elite group.
  17. That's so bad it doesn't deserve the factual rebutal you already know in your head. But just count... http://nufc.com/html/2012-13html/app-goals.html
  18. If we won a spakey league cup with loan players and kids it would be lovely, for a moment. As a set of fans we dare to dream of more though. Which is exactly what Keegan/Hall harnessed to catapult us to challenging for the league. We want to be regularly competing at the top with the teams that have a similar size stadium/crowd. Our attractiveness to sponsors and the best players in the world has been shown to have all the potential of any other club. Buying players isn't always about replacing an individual in your squad that isn't as good. It's about making a statement to everyone. Arsenal's best performance in years comes off the back of a statement signing. Breaking their transfer record and their top wage told everyone that they meant business and that sort of thing is infectious at a club lifting the entire team to better things....and frightening opposition clubs into an underdog mindset when they visit. Ashley, Kinnear and Pardew have no such vision. They never will. Any talk of incremental improvements is an acceptance and endorsement for treading water. That's fair enough if you fear drowning.
  19. Almost sounds as if it could be down to the 16 less games in Europe rather than anything the club have done
  20. I watched the opening 2 minutes and thought the same. Presumably it's purposely done like that to make the connection with gangster crime.
  21. Dozens of kids get bombed to fuck daily by our allies but this one blonde haired blue eyed nipper still dominates the headlines years later as if it's the greatest tragedy to have befallen the UK in a decade. I wish her parents all the best in finding justice or being brought to justice, but the perogatives our tabloids drive are grotesque, racist, hypocritical, lowest common denominator bullshit and the morbid fascination intelligent people have in the case alarms me. .. but then I watch Gogglebox, so swings and round abouts.
