  1. This is the bloke who backed Didier Drogba through every bit of amateur dramatics in his previous stint.
  2. The brass neck on him is ironic given his lack of a visible neck.
  3. ...sometimes it could be argued that they offer better cover for Ben Arfa than Santon would...but it's rare that Ben Arfa is deployed on the left when he gets on.
  4. I mentioned in the match thread we keep replacing LB in the last 20 minutes. Think CT has misunderstood and misrepresented that as Santon being dragged off. West ham - Dummet on 74 Man City - Haidara on 82 WBA - Haidara on 76 Arsenal - Haidara on 79 Stoke - Haidara on 61 Southampton - Haidara on 78 Swansea - Haidara on 56 More often than not Santon makes way (green), but not always. I just can't see the tactical need for changing your LB in the late stages just about every game. Ben Arfa coming on to change something in attack game after game is all well and good, If Santon has had a shocker and we are under the cosh in a game or two...fine. But Pardew seems to be using some very tight games just to have a look at his options when they're still in the balance. It's becoming very predictable with little visible benefit in the specific games being contested. Desmond Tutu tried to say it was down to colccini's injury which is clearly bollocks, not only in terms of common sense, but also because it's a move that pre-dates Coloccini's injury. He may be cultivating competition for the place, but I see it doing Santon more harm than the other lads any good. They could have been given more game time at LB if he's put Santon in at RB, but he seems set against that.
  5. People that declare themselves non-religious... Germany - 38% Scotland - 36.7% Vermont - 34% Wales - 32.1% California 28% England - 24.7% Idaho - 23% Ohio - 17% Texas 12% Surprised me England is so backwards. Guess the ones that are religious tend to be much more staunch in the US.
  6. I Tivo'd it. Turned it on for 30 seconds and some tit was getting the (reluctant) reporter to hold him by one hand over the side of a building he had his feet planted on the side of. I couldn't handle the ridiculousness of either of them being so stupid, shit my pants and had to turn it off.

    WW1

...according to Dan Snow Not as bloody as Taiping rebellion, only 11% of soldiers died, you weren't in the trenches long, the upper class were as brave and suffered as badly as everyone else, plenty of meat, tabs, booze, guaranteed pay, camaraderie and blart on tap. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-25776836
  8. The problem isn't his team talk after we've hammered opponents. As you'd expect, it's more about the opposition's manager at those moments and what he says. A battered team are bound to come out with a flea in their ear second half and it's all about coping with it. The test is when we've been shite and can he do something to turn it around. Our lack of points from losing positions suggests not.
  9. mint Won more on the road (6) than at home now (5).
  10. What you've said there bares no relation to my post about switching Santon out for the last 15 minutes of every game.
  11. Pardew's new thing seems to be bringing on a LB in the last 15 minutes of EVERY game. No matter what the tactical struggle at the time. Thought it odd when Haidara was getting on every game, now it's Dummet. Tight games arent the time to be ironing out your selection decisions.
  12. http://www.toontastic.net/board/topic/33952-tottenham-hotspur-vs-newcastle-united/page-14#entry1173166 A toontastic catchphrase is born?
  13. More like 70% actually 9th http://swissramble.blogspot.co.uk/2013/06/premier-league-201112-some-girls-are.html That's before Remy as well.
  14. You couldn't scatter cushions man.
  15. He's not going to publicize any didagreement if there was one. We're still his employer.
  16. That may be true. Your alternative view assumes Jonas quickly went from Pardew's undroppable favourite, who played every game, no matter what, much to the chagrin of Marveaux and Ben Arfa "fan-boys" to a player that he would not trust on the bench ahead of the worst, most heartless players we have. I don't buy that.
  17. Doesn't matter who was able to encourage offers. He's been selecting worse players ahead of Jonas when available.
  18. We've had a couple of active windows, but since Pardew arrived more often than when windows come around our squad has been depleted in terms of players good enough for the first team. Overall, would I rather have Ba and carroll than Cisse and Gouffran? I think so. Enrique, Perch and Simpson over Santon, Mbiwa and Debuchy? Certainly the LB, the CB's...perhaps. Not RB. Happier with the midfield options certainly.
