Newcastle United vs Sunderland Match Thread

Because he's a heartless coward! His calm presence isn't a great ability to filter distractions and perform to a high standard when everyone else is frantic...its a sign he does not give one single shit. Clearly that is reflected in his training too, hence a 16 year old child getting on the bench ahead of him last night. Can't belive I fed the WUM. If you need this explaining again, don't post, bookmark this and read it back. -
Nowt like the Pirates of the Carribean music to get me excited about a player. Much younger & better looking than Cabaye too

It doesn't necessarily make much more sense if the company accounts aren't run from August to May and Ashley wants the books to look as healty as possible, structuring spending accordingly. But, going on seasons suggests an even greater willingness to spend on new signings 10/11 - £10.3m 11/12 - £23m 12/13 - £23.3m Having spent nothing in Summer or Winter so far, the amounts we normally spend suggest a great deal of wiggle room in what we're proven to be prepared to put on the table. The hefty increase in TV money and the Cabaye income only increase the liklihood of us spending, still without creating any debt.

Is my research right, that between March 2001 (Alain Goma £3.5m) and January 2004 (Carl Cort £2m) Newcastle never sold a single player for more than £150,000? 3 Years!! I mean, the regularity with which we sell our best assets now is thoroughly depressing, but you quickly forget how atrocious we were at performing in the Transfer market.

Since promotion, there's only been one calender year when we've not spent more than we've recouped and that was to avoid wasting £35m. Transfer fees paid (ignoring what's been recouped) by year... 2010 - £8.5m 2011 - £18.7m 2012 - £18m 2013 - £15.7m I hate Ashley, but I've got no reason to think we won't at spend at least a similar amount over the next few days and summer. With the additional TV revenue, I think we'll go double that.
-
But we have an extra £20m TV money as well as the £20m from Cabaye and the £20m we would normally have had to play with under the existing TV deal. There'd be something left of the £60m for Ashley to wet his beak.

I always look forward to the reason "It's ok Cath..."

I know it's a shadow, but I'm sure it's moonwalking

Yeah, I've seen a "ghost" from bed having woke up in the middle of the night. Rubbed my eyes and looked really closely a few times and still couldn't work out what the floating light in the shape of a child was. Too tired to work it out and went back to sleep.

Their form is quite surprising now I look at it. Only lost 1 in 7. Wheras Palace have been able to put a couple of wins in a row together to get out of the mire, the mackems have just been drawing too many. Hope they get a good result against Stoke to climb above Fulham and West Ham, come into the game feeling safer and coasting -

Bloke was immense. Think Pardew got it spot on flooding the team with midfielders rather than hoying Shola up top with Remy. Sammy, Anita and Ben Arfa all got a boost from the possibility that Cabaye's departure is their new opportunity. Sissoko got a boost from the feeling he could be our new main man as well, not just stuck out wide and forced to fit around Cabaye & Tiote's pairing. Hopefully that enthusiasm will carry into Saturday.

I'm surprised it's only 10% of his posts in this thread, but 100 out of 973 is still embarrassing like. Shame on the Fish for having more, but at least it's just 0.3% of his total posts.

To be fair more clubs should speak out about the disparity between risk and reward in the Europa and try to force a change in the format.- 10610 replies
