  1. I thought the first series was good. Brought to tears by the end, but I am a big puff. Waiting for the other half to watch it before I do the rest... Probably never happen what with Hollyoaks and Bones being on every fucking day My first job out of uni was a £16k grad scheme, bought a £30k flat with a 5% deposit I had to borrow from an auntie. Twice salary is a better mortgage total than most first time buyers could dream of these days. I knew that student loans should not be paid off if it can be avoided so never worried about getting my debt paid off before getting on the property ladder. I knew that could be sorted later as it's the cheapest borrowing available. Without that initial help on the deposit I wouldn't have been able to at all though.
  2. Do you watch Treme and get all the local references? I was 18. First year of uni, didn't do halls, moved in the place my lass was renting at the time. Moved home for a while when we split up, but then moved back with her in a ridiculously failed notion that we could be platonic flatmates She ended up moving out and then I bought my own flat when I was 21.
  3. Someone change his name to Pontoon.
  4. It's not about seeing your team win or showing loyalty. It's about 10 pints, 20 tabs and a bit of craic with other men.
  5. There was easy 48k there. The stadium only looked empty after the goals started going in.
  6. Alex Turner acting the knob - 10 knob points Anyone saying he's not a knob - 20 knob points Anyone getting their nose out of joint about him being a knob - 30 knob points Anyone getting their nose out of joint about anyone saying he IS a knob but they don't see why that's any controversy - 40 knob points Anyone attributing knob weightings to everyone involved - 50 knob points Anyone making a dance album on their ipad - 60 knob points
  7. No. CT claims to have been doing very well for himself under Labour. Now he clainms to be on the poverty line. But despite personal experience he argues against the evidence in his own life when discussing the merits of either party in power.
  8. https://www.facebook.com/notes/facebook-data-science/the-formation-of-love/10152064609253859 Posts shared between the future couple. A graphical representation of exactly how resentment and hatred take over from friendship and good times.
  9. I remember when CT joined, he was waxing lyrical about the money he was pulling in on the taxi's. Recommending it to anyone else looking for work as a great way to earn a living. I guess more people were willing to pay for taxi's under Labour. Now he's in poverty and getting Direct Debits refused and he thinks it's a good thing. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/8474611.stm

  12. Dunno if it's the unaccompanied guitar or the bends/whammy bar use early on, but from the first few riffs of that I thought of Howe Gelb. Listening to 'sno angel like you now, so cheers
  13. If the manager lines up the best players he has in their best positions, or drops players and replaces them like for like, in a well drilled setup based on clear principals then you might have a point. Any underperforming players would have no excuse for an aimless, disorganised, listless show. We don't do that though. Pardew chops and changes with total disregard for any sort of consitency, he withdraws players who are crying out for game time, he puts players in their place that are proven failures at this level. He plays them out of position. He claims he has one vision while the team produce something totally different. Ashley takes all the blame for everything that goes tits up at the club, but that includes appointing Pardew. A bloke whose entire track record shows a history of completely failing to get performances out of world class players like Tevez. We were disgusted when he arrived because we know what a bad manager he is and that hasn't changed. Ashley's faults don't absolve him of his failures any more than Pardew's faults absolve Ashley. 2 total shitheads.
  14. £100m return on top of his investment, for what?
  15. Apparently filming started before Armstrong was exposed and that informs the approach of the doc. Switched from hagiography to a Oprah style rehabilitation. Not seen it, but the reviews suggest that it's as much a look at how willing Alex Gibney would willingly believe the blatant lies from Armstrong that had been widely scoffed at going back years and approach the film as a glowing tribute to someone clearly off his tits whenever he so much as rode to the shops. As much as I loved Enron, Taxi To The dark Side and Mea maxima Culpa I've not been in too much of a hurry to watch his Wikileaks doc because the interviews he did to promote it seemed so weighted against Assange & Co. Even the title "We Steal Secrets" describes something a CIA director said, but is used to imply criminality by Wikileaks. Wonder more about his judgement with every film he does.
  16. I bought that album for 'The Distance' and haven't listened to owt else on it. I'll have to have a go.
  17. Dunno how it effects the home internet, I've only tried logging on as another user from work so far. Yet to setup working accounts for any other family and see how I suffer when they view. Might not bother now you've raised the likely problems
  18. I've always found the "full international" bollocks a bit much like. Most of them don't get starts and a lot of them haven't even been selected for their squads in ages. You could blame Pardew for that, but a load of shite get international caps all the time. Not to mention half the teams in the league could list 11 internationals in their squad.
  19. Ha, no need to be afraid, obviously realise they're well liked and critically acclaimed... just mean among people I know and mainstream playlists. Love Modest Mouse too First place I took notice of The Stooges was when 2ManyDJs used No Fun. I think "As Heard on Radio Soulwax" sent me off in about 10 directions. Ill-informed pre-internet teenager.

Don't think I've started a single birthday thread. It's a record I hope hope to maintain going forwards.
  21. ...says you can run from the Plex server from NAS too.
  22. Your PC needs to be on to access the whole library. But the Plex forum says you can.. you can specify things like: "Sync the next three episodes of The Big Bang Theory" and the server / mobile will automatically ensure that those videos are available on your device. As you watch episodes, new episodes are then queued up and copied over to your device to ensure that you always have the "next three".
