  1. There were worse 14 game runs in the relegation season, but you'll struggle to find them. Especially prior to game 33 as we are now. I reckon we'll have a good chance to put a worse run together before the season is out too. But then I wasn't going for accuracy. How it flowed off the tongue as a piss take was more important to me than the caveats of which runs might have been marginally worse. There was some poetic license taken, but it's valid because the basic premise of your illogical fallacy is clear for all to see.
  2. Best squad in 10 years to blame for worst form in 10 years. #CTlogic
  3. Renaming shearers was more about his personal relationship with the bloke than with the fans. Don't know anyone who gave a flying fuck among supporters.
  4. Don't you have Sky? He earns twice from them what he does from tickets so you're more of an enabler than i am
  5. I do those for fun. I recently did some graphs looking at box-office earnings since the 80s too. That wasn't bile fueled either
  6. The trick is I don't rely on the club, manager or players to enjoy it. We have a good drink and a good laugh in defeat too. Anyone that goes around with a geet cob on after a game is taking it too serious in my book.
  7. It would be interesting to see who Ashley went for, and who he could attract, in a proper managerial hunt.. The last time he had plenty of time and opportunity to replace an unpopular manager, without being in a real struggle, was when he brought in Keegan.
  8. You're alreet Gemima. I'll stick to going to the match with the lads thanks.
  9. It's not commendable. It's just what football is for 90% of fans that go.
  10. In what sense is it no self respect? If you kept going through Keegan's sacking, through relegation, Hughton's sacking, Carroll's sale, Ba's, stadium renaming, Wonga, being moved seats etc....why is that all fine, but renewing after a top half finish and the sale of an irregular substitute defines someone as having no self respect?
  11. Goals Scored since Pardew took over 10/11 - 56 11/12 - 56 12/13 - 45 13/14 - 38 (will we score 7 more?) Diminishing returns.
  12. Games lost by 3 or more since Pardew took over... 10/11 - 2 (22 games) 11/12 - 4 12/13 - 5 13/14 - 7 (and counting) It's not a trend he looks like arresting.
  13. Ah right. Thought you must have dropped the office space. Do was gonna point you here... http://www.meetingsbooker.com/259-108/meeting-rooms-newcastle-conference-venues.aspx Maybe the college, university or library would offer something... Sound like you just want to do a business lunch style thing though in which case I'd book a table at a restaurant with WiFi. Zizis or las iguanas types.
  14. The season we were relegated we only lost four games by three or more. We're sitting on seven already and I fear at least a couple more over the next 6 weeks.
  15. I wouldn't call it that, but I think it takes remarkable personal pride for a player to keep pushing themselves to perform to the best of their ability for a man they do not respect, in a system they do not understand or have any faith in for the sake of one or two positions. Coloccini will do that, perhaps as captain he feels a responsibility others don't. Cisse seems to have a personal mission too. As does Remy.
  16. Aye, but on the other hand Parky would be blahn oot.
  17. I think Krul, Coloccini, Debuchy, Santon, Tiote, Sissoko and Remy are more than capable, with Cisse, Ben Arfa, Anita, Gouffran, Mbiwa, Elliot and Taylor all capable enough to fill the remaining gaps and a few bench spots. I don't think it's fair to criticise them for the complete lack of organisation we display week in and week out. Pardew was always riding along at the limits of his capability, but he has shit his pants completely since Cabaye went. Not picked up a single point from any team in the top half for 3 months. Failed to score in 7 games from 10. Conceded three or more in five of them. For a team that was 5th after 13 games, all your players don't turn to shit all at once like that.
  18. Think it referred to the Summer 2012 window and he went in January 2013. Corrected the mackem one, cos we did
  19. Some updates there. Anyone care to go out on a limb and add some early ones for next season... or for the end of this season?
  20. There's usually no point, when we're performing to made table standard. 13 points from 14 games is relegation form though, and even an Ashley replacement is worth a throw of the dice in those circumstances.
  21. The result takes us to over 3 months without taking a single point off any team in the top 10.
