How have you worked that out? £800k difference between 10th and 11th for prize money. That's only £32k per player on their bonus sheet. Before you factor in Pardew and his staff and then the rest of the club. Not that I think it's been done deviously rather than being down to incompetence.

There was booing at the end of both halves. First half for the referee (who was proven right) and second half for the players, Manager, owner and the whole damned situation. There was booing when Shola came on (disgraceful), but I think if you spoke to those that booed, they meant it for Pardew, not for Shola. When the 4th went in I did a full throated "Get out of our club...." one of the 6 other lads i go with joined in. No-one else did. That's in the Strawberry corner, the most vocal part of the ground. The biggest NUFC chant of the day was "Shearer turned you down" Fucking embarrassment all told.

Cabaye got the PSG tax. We saw what Arsenal were willing to pay. Can't see any of our foreigners going for much more than we paid. Santon can barely keep Dummet or Haidara out of the team. Krul is the only one who would get a good profit imo. Still a fraction of Cabaye and Carroll though. EDIT: Potentially, I agree, there's big profit in several players. Just not after the season they've mostly had.

Ashley hasn't got any players he can sell at a big fat profit. He'll be pissed off.

In all fairness, we probably will. I've said a few times I can see why we would prefer to spend in summer rather than January this year, so I still expect us to spend more than Ashley has in any previous year come the new season. Seriously. Over the last 7 years We have spent more than Everton on players - even though we spent a year in the championship. If they're challenging for Champions League there's no reason (Ashley asides) we couldn't attract an ex-Wigan boss. They're champions league contenders now. If Ashley wants the best return on his investment in players, he's best not handing them to Pardew given the short term level of performance he's capable of.

They've been Pardewed... He's incapable of getting results with players who have trained with him for any length of time. Only with new blood.

I've spent almost an entire season arguing with 99% of Newcastle Online about why sacking him would be a folly, but after the Spurs game our performances had sunk to such a level that I couldn't disagree any more. There would be little chance of firing him leading to a worse outcome than the relegation form we've been displaying since Christmas, which was my only fear about getting rid sooner. He had the European and thin squad excuse last year, but not this year.
