  1. My auntie won't appreciate that.
  2. https://twitter.com/ToonArmyMIA/status/476128411920769024
  3. If he's on £50k a week and Gosling was on £15k then it's not such good business. Reckon he's supposed to be the new Cabaye personally.
  4. I must admit I was a clown To be messin' around But that dosen't mean That you 'ave to leave town Colback!
  5. N-U-F-FREE!! I should be on Chronicle headline duty me like.
  6. Total of 8 shots on target against ecuador and Honduras. Shite
  7. A quid? Should get you England. I hoyed in an extra £10 for "site costs". Anyone less than Brazil themselves for me will be a travesty.
  8. I used to love The White Stripes but wasn't so fussed on the last couple of albums and have barely given his subsequent stuff a go, but this is a belter jacked right up in the car.
  9. I often have a fry-up at Morrisons before heading up for a day on the drink pre/post match. They're surprisingly adequate, unless you're a ponce
  10. Beardsley's like the Phantom of the fucking Opera hanging around the club all hours but only showing his face when no-one else is about. With his white socks pulled right up for fear of Ashley thinking he's slacking off.

  12. I remember when NUFC.com said Coloccini was "Bramblesque" after he had been ever-present in the team for his first season with only a few games of the season left. He fucked up all over the shop. Mbiwa has started 17 games. He's never going to get up to the pace of the game in England on a training field or being used that sparingly in competitive games. I fear for any foreign CB we squander money on that Pardew's entrusted to develop.
  13. By contradicting his previous stance (which involved pissing his pants over every story he could quote) CT has stumbled upon a reasonable POV. I'll be holding off complaining about squad depth until mid August.. Over 2 months from now.
  14. There's a link to NUFC in the Greenwald book I'm reading as well.... TV viewers of the derby a couple of years ago will recognise the picture they've used
  15. Certainly in the lengthy 3rd chapter I mentioned, it's aimed at folk who didn't go from the Guardian to Washington Post to the Intercept to the NYT etc. as the leaks were coming out and read all the details as they were reported across the board. It's basically a long list of the major documents that have been disseminated in the press already, more of an NSA leaks primer for someone with a passing interest and perhaps goes too far in providing all the details for the uninitiated. If you don't know most of it then it might be shocking what Google, Facebook, Microsoft etc are getting up to with the government, but I've been bored rigid having lapped it all up last year I've been reading every word from Greenwald for the best part of a decade so it's difficult to say where my own knowledge fills in the blanks but the other chapters are much more of a personal story of how they got together and the time they spent preparing the stories. No background knowledge required and far more entertaining (if not important).
  16. Not at all. I was just being a pedant about the term "£1.25bn profit" which suggested to me he's walked away with that wedge in his back pocket.
  17. Last Thursdays cutting edge. Meet the police commissioner. The most cringe inducing hour of telly all decade. Makes David Brent look like a seriously competent and socially competent man. Horrificly good. Get it on 4od
  18. Really recommend that Flash Boys from my post above (same author). The largest banks in America didn't understand what the High Frequency traders were doing or how or why. Their own trading departments just sat back and watched a rigged market play against them and investors, only looking to get faster, believing that with speed they could do better. they couldn't. Lewis does a great job of explaining complex financial concepts from the point of view of small group of nerds from disparate backgrounds who get together and teach each other all they know, determined to get to the bottom of what's going on and restore balance.
