I don't see how anyone could imagine we won't spend a few bob this summer. Ashley's a prick, but he's not so thick as he's go into a season with three 19 year olds (average) without a PL start between them as our only strikers.

A cynic might wonder if we are witholding season tickets in the better sections so that matchday ticket availibility is greater in the more expensive seats, maximising income from the category A games. ...but I'm sure that's not the case and if you apply yourself, ring up or write in, you could get an East Stand Season Ticket no bother.

You can go to NUFC.co.uk and pretend you want to buy a season ticket and choose your seat to see the number of empty spaces. A lot of sections are being witheld completely for some reason, but those that are available online are very sparsely populated. Impossible to say accurately, but of about 1000 seats in 3 sections at the back of the gallowgate about 300 were taken.

Brother in law plays in the team at Linden Hall and reckons a few of the box holders he plays with have been getting phone calls about a host of extras being offered up at lower prices than last season.

They cannot claim a dead market. There's over £200m been spent already with 2 months to go. Last summer saw a record £630m spent in total which was £130m more than the previous record from 2008. That's going to get blown away IYAM.

Yeah, but I think there would have to be a shot to call whatever was created a chance. As 54% of our shots come from outside the box we know that the whole team had 266 shots inside the area. Can't imagine Sissoko provided a third of those single handedly.

In total Newcastle had 579 shots at goal last season. If Sissoko created 76 of those it would be over 13%. 182 shots on target, so if it's 76 of them then Sissoko created almost 42% of opportunities. I'm inclined to think it must surely be the former.

...I wonder if the club use stats like this to convince lazy clubs that don't do their homework on the effectiveness of the player they're buying...and by extension dictate to Pardew the style we should play, which is for anyone and everyone to shoot on sight. Perhaps a bit too Wolfy that one.
