  2. That Colback is an al qaeda. He'll blow up the Gallowgate if we let him in.
  3. Elliot advertising the keeper tops rather than Krul? Is that just an availibility thing through the world cup or wishful thinking?
  4. Time for a clear out. First couple of hundred pictured here. http://oi58.tinypic.com/156w9c5.jpg If they sell well, I'll put a few hundred more up. Prices? Search here http://www.find-cd.co.uk/ I'll sell for half the cheapest price you can find online.
  5. He was on the scrap heap every bit as much as Kinnear when he arrived as far as I'm concerned. I've done my best to be patient with the fella. Got to the stage that I was just winding people up moaning about him while we chased champions league, I had to give credit where it was due when he finished 5th, but in the last 2 years he's spent way more than the credit he earned from finishing above Villas Boas' Chelsea and Kenny Dalglish's Liverpool.
  6. Doesn't look like I've mentioned this on here. I've had it on repeat for 3 months now. Love a good angry breakup song. Much better than The Corrs' attempt at expressing the sentiment with schmaltz.
  7. Aye, they might be slowing down but they're still reliable. Caribou on my list too.
  8. Don't get me wrong, I don't like that our recruitment only shows the same level of ambition as (say) Everton, Villa, Southampton and that, but given that it does, I think our ambition managerially should be up there with them too, rather than championship level as it stands.
  9. In January 13 he got 5 new players. this was the table in the 9 games subsequent to that... Yet we conspired to get trounced embarrassingly off the Mackems 3 nowt in the next game and go on a downward spiral. We never bought anyone that summer, but we added Remy and never sold anyone either.
  10. He's only not been backed properly if the target is champions league/Europa. As the target is the positions below that, imo he's had ample backing enough not to lose 14 games from 20 scoring 14 and conceding 36.
  11. So we lost just 2 important players from the season we finished 5th.
  12. They've got a new one out a few months back …And Then You Shoot Your Cousin
  13. The mix talk in the electronica thread reminded me a pal of mine who shares the hip/hop & funk mixes from nights he DJ's around Newcastle should have been pulbicised by me. It's not fast paced stuff, full tracks, this one is over 5 hours long, perfect for a days music while working... http://www.mixcloud.com/flintandsteel/flint-steel-live-at-alvinos-25072014/ If you enjoy, he does Alvinos, Science, Ernest etc regular.
  14. I normally look at baby pictures of people and can't see anything of the older version in them. All babies tend to look the same to me. But he's hardly changed. Already full of character in that pic.
  15. It wasn't bad in the end. Quite good if you have a little one with you enjoying it. Plenty of jokes about FIFA corruption, the corporatisation of the game and sweary puns for the dads. Argentine film, but they've changed all the references into English league ones.
  16. I forgot all about that. I was watching American Hustle over the weekend and never made the connection with CT when she blew up the microwave..
  17. Going to a preview of this in the morning. It looks fucking shite.
  18. I don't believe Pardew has much say on who we sell or buy. If there is a change in approach it will be forced by the new personnel rather than anything the manager has purposely instigated.
  19. Wasn't sure where to stick this colourised photo of Pele, so it's going here.
  20. After Man City we've got Villa, Palace, Southampton, Hull, Stoke, Swansea and Leicester. If we're not in the top 6 come Halloween he should be embarrassed. That would give him plenty of leeway for the Chelsea, Arsenal, Mackems, Man U, Everton, Chelsea run over christmas and new year.
  21. I barely commented on Saturday either. I only mentioned that it seemed to further demonstrate the issues I'd written about in May, because someone else mentioned he seems to rely on luck.I don't see that pardew's tactics yesterday did anything to disprove it. You seem to be placing a lot of stock in a pre-season friendly though
  22. Only had one eye on it while I watched the Good Wife. but... Obertan's goal against Malaga was an 18 yard punt the keeper seems to have been paid to let in. Despite Aarons holding the ball up, we only had one bloke in the box when Riviere scored his header against Schalke. Aaron's goal was from twice the distance of Obertan's and again only Riviere was in the box for the cross or any follow up. Cabella's goal relied on a defensive goof. Never saw anything particularly convining.
