There is power in our Union stuck in my head for days after watching it. Class film.

Formula turned up to 11 and frequently referred to throughout. Makes it no less fun. Most of the laughs come from Bond soundtrack use or evil megalomaniac references.

Kingsman was brilliant. Two scenes in particular. One that put the finale of kill bill 1 in the shade. Every bit as good as kick ass.

After Michael Buble last month it's John Legend & Seasick Steve coming up. All to accompany other fans. I'm dead canny. Won't go as far as Nickleback though. Had to knock them back. Think the only one I'm keen on is Foo Fighters. Even then the wife ordered tickets rather than me. I haven't listened to the last 3 or 4 albums. Might watch the HBO show if I can get a DL.

We looked through a few of the restaurant week offers but weren't fussed on the restricted menus (not allowed to order steak at Marco Pierre White) or the savings (£2 off). If anyone knows some of the better places offering good deals it'll save me looking through them all.

We went to Jamies Italian a few weeks back. I had the chicken and thought it was little better than Nandos. The starter (goats cheese) and dessert (sticky toffy, fudge chocolate thing) were lush though, hard to get those wrong really. The wife had the standard steak off the menu, and as you say, not particularly impressed. Joined Jamies club so we were supposed to get a tenner off but they failed to put it through when i was paying and then said they couldn't refund me and we'd have to come back for another meal to get our £10 off deal, so canny shambolic service from the managementl... despite the lass being an excellent waitress up to that point.

Lovenkrands' most fruitful period of goalscoring in his entire career was after Newcastle were relegated and he was getting games in the absence of Martins, Owen and Viduka. I've no doubt he was enjoying himself immensely.

Testament of Youth Could have been on ITV or BBC1 on a Sunday night. Not bad, but just another bland reflection on the fact WW1 was bad ("mkay"). The wife cried eyes out at the death of every young man taken too soon and thought I was a disrespectful prick for not, but that's not fair. The Great War and The World at War are devastating films, this was just a worthy melodrama.

The kid was good, but that whole part of the story seemed to be saying "...and this is what turned him into a wierd gayer" seemed redundant and borderline offensive.

Squad is better. Been telling anyone who says Pardew had his best players sold that they were replaced and more brought in to boot... Relegation would be much more of a financial disaster these days though. TV cash has gone from less than a third of our income to more than half. Partially because it's grown, but primarily because other streams have fallen. If you took TV cash out of the club before Ashley arrived, wages were still covered. That's not true anymore and has continued to worsen...

I don't believe this is the case for 1 second. He's been happy eating shit for 4 years. Cabaye sold without a single signing in all of 13/14 was worse than the loss of Sissoko having just spent £30m. The major factors here are solely: 1. another club came in for him. 2. the other club offered him far more wages 3. the other club offered him a far better severance package in his contract 4. He has been utterly shit at Newcastle for 3 years and knows from experience at other clubs that once the fans are convinced of his limitations, he's fucked and best find another club to sell his snake oil.
