  1. Cheers. I'm not sure why .com are choosing to underplay this... With statements like Not in the dying moments of the worst defeats to the Mackems or Liverpool was the stadium as sparsley populated. Horseshit to pass it off as people staying home cos it was on Sky. Then there's this.. All this after stating.. So in the spoace of 2 weeks ashleyout has galvanized 10,000 people to take action against Ashley. But they pass it off saying... If anyone is indifferent to something happening it's NUFC.com
  2. They want Ashley to go. It is not something that is achievable in the current climate, but like with Pardew, if an opportunity does come along for Ashley it's best that he is as inclined to grasp it as possible. 52000 pliant consumers munching hotdogs in wonga strips wont convince him he can't keep getting away with. Personally I only hope the pressure put on him is enough to ensure a better manager and investment in players & coaching staff. I fear the people in the stadium were probably as disengaged from the boycott as you were. It was widely publicised where posters were available even if you didn't happen to come across one of the volunteers handing them out.
  3. Do you lose them? Someone told me you don't. You'll still have a nufc.co.uk login and they're associated to that, not the ST. No?
  4. Ashleyout have been at pains to convey a message of unity and asking people in the stadium to protest too. They printed 20,000 banners for people in the stadium to get onto the telly. Were they collected as people went through the turnstyles cos I don't think I saw any.
  5. There's a lot of work involved in putting a protest on. So I wouldn't expect a repeat of yesterday to be sorted in 5 days. Tickets have already been bought. People will make a principled stand at their own expense, but can't see it being as successful in the very next game too. Think the long term plan has to be to stop people paying for anything more than they have already. ... and if they must go to games, to stop buying owt in the stadium.
  6. I got delayed at the pub Looked canny on Twitter though
  7. I reckon there's at least 10k stopped away. Which is great for people who have already paid.
  8. I see it more as needing to be a constant threat to Ashley so that he gets a better manager, spends more on transfers, sorts out his ticket policies, his advertising policies and that. I can't see any buyers coming along soon either, but like any government, the thread of revolt has to hang over them to get ANY policies in place to benefit the majority.
  9. I'm in that group and understand it when there is nothing else to get behind. But when there is a concerted effort happening... It's remarkable to me that people won't support it. I've no qualms with people protecting a 20 year old match streak. But I know a lad who misses games off his st every year for holidays and that making out that it would be sacrilegious to miss this one. Just being obtuse.
  10. You can come for a pint with us if you like?
  11. I'll not stop going as an individual act. But as long as there's organised protest I'll join.
  12. Without the following @nufc_stats and Michael Martin have whipped up on Twitter swaying the results... is anyone still going on Sunday? If so, can i ask why?
  13. http://ashleyout.com/articles/a-guest-blog-on-the-state-of-newcastle-united-by-george-caulkin-northern-sports-correspondent-of-the-times/ George Caulkin risking a ban to say it how it is on Newcastle these days, with a guest column for Ashleyout.com. Absolute quality piece. Also recommend listening to last nights BBC newcastle phone in which he did if anyone wasn't aware.
  14. I'll be there before and after. See how it goes as to whether I'll be in Leazes park during the game or in a pub getting nicely pished.
  15. The problem with Ashley is he will always be motivated by profit. So while Spurs wanted to hold onto Bale as long as they could and only sold for a huge sum when the player fidgeted too much, we would have sold the lad for half that price a season or two sooner. I can excuse the sales of Mbiwa, Ben Arfa, Cabaye, Ba and that, but not the likes of Carroll, Enrique, Santon and Debuchy. He'd have to cut out the latter sort of business for a good 4 or 5 years, put in a top manager on £2m to £5m and a proven coaching team before I'd start thinking he was interested in a competitive team.
  16. Luke Edwards is going on about NUFC hiding profits in separate bank accounts. It's not the case. Above is how I see the club sitting with £34m in the bank after a starting balance of -£4m and an £18m profit.
  17. Not sure why anyone local needs this? All the usual places.
  18. Organised protests before and after will be at the Gallowgate end. Under the Milburn is private property and police/staff would move on anyone posing a fire risk while the stadium empties.
  19. NET spend this year was £18m. We could spend £30 - £40m in total, but players will need sold to fund that.
  20. So looking at what we have to spend in the summer. £38m in the bank at the end of June2014. £30m spent on players since £12m recouped on players since £5m to add to that from Mbiwa Total of £25m Operating profit for 14/15 will be about the same as 13/14 - £5m Leaves a £30m kitty in place. Ashley likes to have some in reserve in case of the threat of relegation like. Think £20m net spend tops in the summer.
  21. ...you get Llambias. You leave the scrapings of a bag of peanuts out...
