Don't know if it's strange or not, but all I can think of at the moment is how I spend two thirds of my life working or sleeping. If I live to 90, 60 years would have been wasted. Seneca has convinced me to become a bum.

It's champion. Used to smoke 20 a day, now I've cut down to nabbing other peoples on a night out and buying 20 on a match day. When people around you are smoking it's like eating a steak in front of someone starving. I'll find it a lot easier to quit altogether now. Which is a shame, cos I love tabs.

So their not unlike The Sugarcubes? Or maybe Crunt (real band featuring the singer from Babes in Toyland and her husband from Lubricated Goat (yes another real band)) or maybe even Little Birdy or even Lush??? 94471 I'm afraid the only one of those I've heard of is Sugarcubes, and even then I've only heard of them via Bjork, none of the music. I'll have to try and find some that's not daft pound on amazon.

Happy face, what are deerhoof like? They are just about to tour and I was thinking about going and seeing them because I've heard the name but can't place the sound. The other I've never heard of. 94461 Hard to describe (that's why I included them here). I'm listening to it to help, and you've got a lass who sings in a geet childish, cute, girly voice and a bloke who half talks, half sings. It's guitar driven stuff that has the feel of Andrew Bird - light, innocent and childish, something you'd imagine a musically gifted 3 year old would come up with simple but sprawling and textured. It then goes off into really scuzzy, driving, pounding guitar sections. Sorry about my inability to describe it. These guys love it These hate it EDIT: Dunno what I was on about. Not Andrew Bird, I meant the Boy least Likely To.

Although in the other thread I said Lightning Bolt were a newer Led Zep, that's only because they are the best heavy rock band at the moment. I've heard very little like them. I'd also like to know where these lot get it from... Camille Deerhoof Antony and the Johnsons Caribou Isolee The Fiery Furnaces Six Organs of admittance

And deny you your British right to freedom of speech? Then we would be cunts.

I'm also confused by the fact that their intolerance disgusts you to such a degree that you (Thompson et al) then espouse intolerance. Surely the best thing about Britain is its tolerance.

You really are getting hit on the head by that puck a lot aren't you? You're having a giraffe. Plus, Sayer and Mercury are from the same era, only Leo has the advantage of still being alive. Back on subject, has anyone else noticed that most of the so called 'cool' bands (ie NME supported) are dressing like Joy Division? Seems to be the look nowadays. 94136 I remember reading a copoy of GQ I found on the train a while back and it had hints on how to get the Ian Curtis look. Who wants to look like a gaunt, suicidal, heed the baal?

He couldn't be said to embody his spirit though could he? 94048 He likes to think he does, but he actually embodies the spirit of Hank Marvin.

And like Edan says, Lenny Kravitz imitates Jimi Hendrix in every facet.
