I don't have a problem with smacking under certain circumstances. I can clearly remember the few times I was smacked and it always made me realise the gravity of the situation. Doing something stupid (like going for a midnight walk when I was 8 and anything could have happened to me) warranted it. Another example was when my dad once had my brother up against the wall by his neck because he'd kicked a girl in the head and she'd gone to hospital, he'd had big boots on and showed no remorse. When I see mothers torturing their bairns for lagging behind while they do the shopping it boils my piss though.

Aye, I only caught the end too. That song was hilarious though. Is it Cat Stevens singing on the credits btw? it is.

All this knuckle touching has spoiled watching the game on tv for me. Five live all the way this weekend.

I like playing with people who're better than me. Improves your game immeasurably. That goes for all sports actually. Gets tiresome playing people you can beat.

Sergio just missed an eagle.

The Ditty Bops - Moon Over The Freeway I'm going to have to rearrange my top 10 of the year to accomodate this a bit higher up.

David Bowie's song was a comedy scene of legendary proportion. I found breathing difficult.

The Thick of It, worth a look? Definately. A couple of episodes are a bit samey, but individually hilarious. If you like Have I got news for you and the day today you should love it.

Malcolm Tucker kicks arse and is highly amusing with it.

An open plan office of 150 people or so. Windows all around give a panoramic view of The largest business park in europe, the surrounding hills and the sea beyond.

You mean Luckypierre's are both caked with shit?

He's regained conciousness so there's hope. Fingers crossed for the lad. Nicest bloke on the show.

I never really persevered with the last album. Which is strange looking back at what I thought when I got it... I'll have to get it back on the old mp3 player because looking through the track titles reminds me how good it was. Haven't got the new one like.

I'm predicting a critical mauling from you. I've got a feeling that it's going to feel like I'm having to force myself to watch til the end. Am I right? When I watch it, I can't take my eyes off it. It still looks fantastic 40 years on. But then I also love Dogville (the one without any sets where they talk to an imaginary dog) which you found preposterous. Understanding it helps you enjoy it like, so I'd recommend this.... http://www.kubrick2001.com/ -

TBH all of Kubrick's films apart from Spartacus (and I beleive Kirk Douglas virtually directed that) and The Killing have been disapointing to me. I do like the first part of Full Metal Jacket like but it goes to shit a bit after him off Criminal Intent kills himself. The ONLY dissappointing Kubrick films for me were Spartacus, Clockwork Orange and Eyes Wide Shut. I can see why his reputation goes before him and people might go into each of his films expecting the earth to shatter due to the critical acclaim he receives. Even if that doesn't happen, his other films are some of the best I've ever seen. -
Almost unbelievably, Spake is married with kids. Uber-camp but not packing fudge. Naive. Brokeback mountaineer par exellence.

I don't know what he's miming to, but it's shite.

Well the chairman wasn't squeaky clean either. He wants to be looking out himself. There's a big difference between taking illegal payments for signing a player and talking a bit of shite in the paper to placate your fans. Aye. ya reet like. I think Sam's going to send the bairn to bed without any supper tonight like.
