I've heard about a couple going in Longbenton and one in Washington last week, then this morning 2 from St James'.
-
The fact you ain't heard it rather negates your original position of "best album '06". You seem to have a tendency to critique stuff you've not experienced first hand like.
-
And I'm still getting sacked! I wash my hands after toilets the vast majority of the time, I was referring to pre-scran washing. You'd have to be a wifey.

Builds up immunity tbh. I'm NEVER ill. Nails in fact. In 6 years I've only had one period of absence and that was due to a broken ankle. I'll bet you're a shivvering wreck 90% of the time.

I don't know if that's aimed at me, but I've said I'm personally uncomfortable with the idea of watching a movie about 9/11 this soon after, I haven't critisised anyone else for doing so. How anyone could think I need to see the movie to feel that way, or even have a problem with the opinion, to be honest, I just don't fucking understand. You never really commented on the film, let alone slagged it off. -

Whey Deerhunter was out within 5 years of Vietnam ending and it's still a great film. -
Public Enemy were something else tonight. If only Flava Flav hadn't done a solo set half way through it could have been an all time great show,

Really don't want to see this, I know that it will be done tastefully, I know it has the right director to document the horror, drama and heroism that was born on that day, but for me, it's too soon. Someone told me it was all a little too "America is great" for his liking, which I would have thought came with the territory, which is another reason for me to avoid it. this and "Flight 109 (or whatever)" come too soon on the heels of the event in my eyes and while I appreciate that nobody is making these films with cynical motives in mind, I still wouldn't be able to draw anything from the experience. the last film I watched was True Lies..... now that's how you deal with Terrorists.... GO ARNIE! There wasn't a stars and stripes to be seen. I've heard all this stuff about it being pro-American, but it's just pro-humanitarian. I could hardly bear it until the first tower came down, thought I was going to be sick. I'd recommend it to everyone though. -
Brock what the fuck is up with you? Everytime you come on here you have to mention some bird or other, have you got somehting wrong with you? Pot, Kettle, black tbh. Or am I confusing you with Smooth Operator? I never know the difference.

World Trade Centre No fun at all, it has the odd moment of light relief, but the intensity of emotion is suffocating. Absoloutley brilliant though. You'd have to be a cold hearted cynical son of a bitch not to think so. I mean, that describes Stone all over and even he plays it straight. This film doesn't give an iota of his opinion on the politics of the day or subsequent events, which makes it all the more admirable. That even the man who made JFK realises that the day should never be used for point scoring. Perhaps that's the slyest dig of all, the Bush administration and the right in general using it as they do, as an excuse for all manner of horrible action should take heed. EDIT: Can I add, it's the first film I've seen at the pictures for a while as previously I got so sick of little shits on their phones, taking photos and hoying stuff. I expected the worst when I went in to be greeted by a cinema full of 13 year olds, but on the whole they were amazingly respectful. A couple of young uns sat a few seats away watched the whole thing in rapt silence. Well done to the bairns. -
I'm canny confident of staying tbh. Just pissed at how they go about this stuff.

A couple of people who I used to work with are in the same boat. Its disgraceful, theres still a lot of contractors about and they took on a load of lets just say less skilled CSA staff (on better packages than most of the standard staff) not so long back. Nevermind the multitude of people on that account who just do fuck all. I remember last time this went round when I was still there after the dust had setteld I think they managed to get rid of 1 person. It might not be worth much but join the union, every little bit could help. Im sure theyre signed up to an agreement about staff redundancies which says it shoudl be contractors first before any permies What galls the most is ALS are advertising for 20 vacancies. They're desparatate.
-
Got told there'd be redundancies at work just before last weekend wasn't really too worried, just at the back of my mind had a bit of a nag. They said we'd know for sure on Tuesday gone. On Wednesday a few of us in particular were told we were at risk and we'd hear by the end of the week. On Friday we were told we'd get an email on Monday to organise a meeting for later on. Can the bastards go about enforced redundancies in such a dragged out, cack-handed manner that leaves half the work-force stressed to fuck? There were no volutary redundancies offered either, is that allowed.

You have to weigh up the pros and cons of washing on each occasion, never a yes or no answer.

I think a lot of speed cameras cause accidents. The one before the Black Bull on the way to Heworth especially is just over the brow of a hill. The number of people who've spotted it at the last minute and hammered the breaks only to be whacked in the back is crazy. You could blame those behind the heavy breaker for being inside the breaking distance, but the camera isn't blameless. However, the proliferation of cameras has made all drivers more aware of their own speeds I think and that's a good thing.
-
It's only 5% because there are speed cameras. It's like saying Hammond didn't die, so future world speed record attempts shouldn't require a helmet.
-
I'm quite confident it's the cleanest course of action. I'd rather have whatevers on my nice clean cock remain on my fingers, than mixing it withg whatever some grot has left on the taps after taking the biggest dump since christendom.
