How Fake do you all think it was? Did the lad pretend to have amnesia and no-one else knew? Did the lad and the producers conspire to trick everyone including his family? Did all his friends and family know but were good actors? Were they all hired actors and the family photo's faked and the home video's? At Q&A sessions after the film was shown in theatre's, the producers would offer their phone numbers so that if you had any questions you could ask them, to this day, they are adamant it's real.

This lad who'd made a bomb working in the city, travelled the world with his snide mates being proper geezers, and arseholes with it, suddenly forgets everything. He's reborn without any cynisism whatsoever and all of a sudden realises everything that's wonderful and is able to build a new life to embrace it. He's able to tell life long friends they're tits and he doesn't want to associate with such arseholes, he's able to make a new circle of friends that share his positive outlook and he's able to ditch the daily grind and do work that makes him happy rather than makes him money. Total amnesia made him a far nicer bloke. That's what made it seem like a set up to me, it was such a moral story. Or did you think he was still a cock after the amnesia?

I always put subtitles on. Even on English speaking DVD's. I'm not mutton or owt. I just don't like to miss anything if, say for example, Russell Crowe is doing his low mumble.

I was tainted when I watched it because I read reviews last year and knew about the controversy (there was a theatrical release), that's why I asked for opinion before giving it. If no-one's seen it I suppose it doesn't matter. Many reviewers have said they thought it was fake and have listed reasons why. And actually your comment goes along with them. It was too good a story that this unlikeable little prick was cleansed and became a good bloke. Fake or not I thought it was excellent and would highly recommend it.
