You don't have it on your wall do you? I'll allow it if you're under 10 like.

I've not seen it this week. What were the racist remarks?

Mourinho wants them all though.

I'm not Owen, but I'm still seriously depressed.

Just finished Civilization and Its Discontents (Sigmund Freud) which was surprisingly readable and I flew through it. Very interesting. It fit in nicely with watching Little Miss Sunshine. From now on I'm going to selfilshly pursue happiness with scant regard for anyone else. I'm now a do-er, not an avoider. Now reading this month's Sight and Sound with articles on African classics and Robert Altman.

Bladerunner directors cut. Never been able to watch it all the way through because it's always on a shit advert/news interruption channel. I've always been of the impression that it's crap based on what I've seen. Ready to be proved wrong.

scientific papers bollocks another gem Parky Science can prove or disprove anything they want. Our planet is in danger and I know we all know. Fermat had science stumped for a while. If you believe Al Gore, Peer reviewed papers are pretty much 100% behind the theory that we're making things worse. Big business has a lot riding on the status quo, so you're going to get a lot of debunking.

It can all be worked out from the composition of the ice going back donkeys.

In all seriousness that is a completely selfish attitude, one shared by millions of evangelicals rubbing their hands together at the prospect or Armageddon. Do you not believe we have a duty to protect the planet for future generations? Yeah, I do tbh. I'll Edit my post for clarity.

The dinosaurs never did much driving and where are they now? You never hear from them. Make hay while the sun shines I say. [/Clarkson]

He should have got Xenomania to but a beat behind it. Would have had a hit.

Sugababes are a canny pop band imo, not that I would ever listen to them by choice, Girls Aloud are fucking dogshit though. And that is being fair. I've always liked Sugababes since Destination. Just got into Girls Aloud since their latest album last year. Course I don't believe any of them are more talented or have influenced their own success any more than your average Spice Girl or S clubber. Just the people behind them have done consistently very well with song selection and production. Kept it fresh.

The DangerDoom (Dangermouse and MF Doom) album that came out last year is ATHF themed and even better than the show.

It's cable's free replay service, seems to me your paying because your watching on the net wrong again wackster, housemate's folks pay for the internet and phone But not 4oD! I downloaded it just so I could watch Longford (for free). Worth it for that alone.

Why go to the park when you can just pop a pill? [/Kramer]

Hidden - Call me old fashioned but I like my thrillers to end up resolved, there's no point in keeping me on the edge of my seat then leaving me there. It's not that I dislike open ended films per se, Lost in Translation for example is quality, but for a film to do that it should really be asking the viewer bigger, unanswerable questions about life, not whodunnit? That said, I did thoroughly enjoy the film and it did ask bigger questions about the nature of guilt, lies, good intentions etc. it just didn't follow the genre convention which was unsatisfying for me. Little Miss Sunshine - I really wanted to hate this film. I don't like to enjoy 'quirky' films. I think Wes Anderson is a mong. And on top of the quirks, this thing has a cute little 6 year old being upbeat when people die and generally tugging at the heart strings in a really manipulative way. And it worked. I thought it was brilliant. The 40 Year Old Virgin is hilarious, playing it straight as a suicidal failure. Could be my favourite of last year. If you liked Me and You and Everyone We know or Sideways give it a whirl. -

Futebol Brazillian series of 3 feature length documentaries on the people that play the game there. Made by Joao Moreira Salles (brother of Walter Salles who made The Motorcycle Diaries and Central Station) it's a lush 4 disc set that should be £40 but can be picked up for under a tenner. Link. Originally released and shown around France '98 it's a quality watch. Episode 1 looks at the kids trying to get into the game and break out of poverty, thousands of them turn up for Flamengo's open sessions and the vast majority have the hopes of their entire family on their backs. Even the few that get selected and are followed have little chance of actually making it. Very sad this one. Part 2 follows a couple of the lucky ones who've graduated to the Flamengo first team. Fan favourites one game then the object of mass abuse the next, it amazingly made me feel sorry for people lucky enough to get into that position. All the money they're paid should not excuse a man being fearful of going out in public with his girlfreind. I might even not punch Luque in the face if I see him now. Section 3 is a week in the life of a retired player. Paulo Cezar won the world cup in the 70's and was like a Brazilian Rodney Marsh. Clinging on to past glory he at least had the good sense to invest in some property that sustains him unlike others who don't have his intelligence. He looks absoloutley gutted sitting in the Maracana with thousands of fans who don't even recognise him let alone give him the respect he feels he's due. All 3 parts include Brazillian legends (Pele, Zico etc) looking back on their careers, giving contrast with the players being portrayed. Recommended. -
Pretty ignorant comment, tbh. I know it's in jest but Howard has done a lot of work to raise awareness of the reality of what Tourettes is like (i.e. not like you're describing). I take it you're taking the piss as much as I was.

Tim Howard suffers from a neurolgical disorder that makes him say and do things he doesn't want to or necessarily believe. I think his evidence should be inadmissible tbh.

which 'readers' or 'aggregators' should I use? Where can I download it? Cheers. This place not do it? RSS wouldnt really work on a forum though, you would end up with loads of links to posts, easier just to log in and view. Would you not just have links to loads of topics rather than individual posts? This place can't get through more than 20 or 30 topics a day and I only come back to a small number of them. Thought it would be handy to be told as soon as a topic I want to read has been responded to. think you're fucking important or something? Feel you shouldn't have to wade through the dross like the rest of us? I didn't, but then N-O broke and a bunch of numpties lowered the standards.
