Can someone explain the whole enjoyment of watching westerns is please, as they send me to sleep. Only men like westerns, not women. Apparently, at times when men are at their most emasculated, the western is at it's most popular. So, after a war, or in reaction to feminism. Any time you want to see men be men.

We're going to Sam Jacks for it but I'm a bit dubious. It's been a great laugh in there this season, but on Saturday there was a real nasty atmosphere in there, came from a particularly high Charver element (even more than normal). No one was bothering to find a surface for their empties and just forcefully smashed them on the floor and the pot lads (underpaid foreigners) were getting chased around the place. Wasn't fun. Goldie, The DJ and the strippers were as entertaining as ever though so swings and roundabouts.

....oh, and the rat oot in the Sports Cafe is VERY poor nowadays. They send a couple of them round with jugs of lager to hand out for free, the only catch being that they don't pour it into your glass....they pour from the jug straight into your mouth. Half of Byker lap it up, personally I didn't fancy their phlegmy dreggs.

Old idols favourite Michaela is at Sam Jacks these days.....and looking the worse for wear after too long in the game.

On the metro home from work I enjoyed the fireworks all over Newcastles horizon for free. It was lush. I even put war of the Worlds on the ipod to add ambience.

Has Rodders been proved right in not rushing to sign Kuyt ??? Hmmmm It seems that's debatable. Personally I'd have loved him here but after Souness had spent over £45M in a season, I think Roeders frugality had the best interests of Newcastle at heart and was comendable. Hang on, didn't he spend £10.5m on Martins when Liverpool spent £9m on Kuyt ? Martins was proven in a tougher league and has scored more than Kuyt*. *I guess.

It has improved under Allardyce. Difficult to judge the impact he's had on it when we've had no Intertoto/UEFA cup/Carling cup to contend with though. Only three games in over a month shouldn't see a lot of injuries.
