  1. What was going on with him when the whole team were screaming at him to come in for a free kick and he insisted on sitting out on the wing? Did he seriously just not see/hear them?
  2. Thought we did a lot of attacking first half. Seemed to me like he gave them a bollocking at half time for conceding one and we came out a more cautious side. Which was the opposite of what was required.
  3. No, but nor am I stupid enough to think that changing the manager every 12 games (because you and Jimbo have been advocating sacking him since then) until we get someone who makes the exact team selections I'd like him to, and subs the players I want him to when I want him to is the right thing to do. I mean what happens if we get a new bloke in and he struggles for the first 12 games and you and Jimbo can't see what direction the club is going in? Will it be time for another change? Answer that seriously by the way, cos I can't see how it would be any different if we made another change and you didn't like what he was doing. You'd want shot again. It's fucking ridiculous man. By the way, all this harping on about the mistakes he's making etc. Fair enough, he's doing some stuff I don't quite understand, and I don't always see the sense in, but it's fucking comical the way some on here carry on as if they would be able to walk into the job and do it better. I'm not saying people can't criticise or have an opinion, but seriously the way some go on you'd think a couple of successful seasons on FM08 has actually qualified them to apply for the fucking job when in reality they wouldn't and don't have a fucking clue. I never wanted him and my fears have been realised - he was supposed to be the best english manager available - given the hype I'd expect improvement - there is none. What happens when we get the next bloke in and he's not doing things your way within 15 games though? Do we get shot of him too? What we need to do is start giving our managers 12 game contracts. That'll save on the pay outs when we have to sack them for going two games without a win. Then when we've run out of managers willing to come here, we have a draw of all the season ticket holders. The winner becomes the manager. If we win he's allowed to be manager for the next game. If we lose he is subjected to a punishment beating in the centre circle (just to satisfy the blood-lust of the boo-boys). You mean 4 games without a loss. Never thought I'd agree with something Steve Bruce says. http://www.football365.com/story/0,17033,8...3004265,00.html

What's got worse?
  5. Exactly what I said to me fatha when it came on the radio. EDIT: Though Speed probably didn't want to come as he's gone to a club for first team football, which he'd not get here.
  6. I read that too, he came across as a deluded, stuborn loon. Did you know Milner has not got a single assist since the first game away to Bolton? If he is leaving him there to keep him happy he wants his head read. ...and Zoggy has only supplied assists in one game this season. They've both played in every game. But but but we've got Pro-Zone and everything ! Sam says its brilliant ! Strange that he talks that stuff up so much when Emre has the most assists in our squad and can't get a start.

  8. Funniest thing I've heard today. If Jol had Newcastle where he had Spurs this season would you have advocated giving him time? Incredible. Yes, i rate and like Jol and the Tottenham fan I work with reckons the majority of fans didn't want shot of him. At least he tried to get them playing decent football which is more than can be said for BS To quote you... http://www.toontastic.net/board/index.php?...mp;#entry327874 I think you'll find that was my reaction to stevey howey constantly posting the same shit day in, day out. I would drag some of your posts up but tbh I'm not that arsed and I couldn't be bothered to go trailing the movie sites where you do your cutting and pasting from. And for the record I was quite happy with BS appointment but now I've seen what he's got to offer I'm now seething Always original mate! I was vehemently against him getting the job. Now I've seen what he's got to offer I'm happy with the improvement in position, if not performance.
  9. He's planning on us playing like Bolton, woo hoo !!!! Which is what most people on here wanted him for in the first place. You weren't that keen to be fair, more of an anything but Roeder attitude. But you weren't against getting him in at all. I was all for his appointment, its true, but I did have reservations about what his style of play would be, I hoped it would be more free flowing but my fears of that "Bolton" style lingered, and that seems to be the way he's going, I find it dull, unattractive and I'm not a fan of it, I don't see that as contradictory. Not saying you're contradicting yourself, just that we all knew what we were letting ourselves in for. It's hardly a suprise we're playing this way. How well are Norwich doing now btw?

  13. We're like Iraqis after Saddam.
  14. That line in bold is the epitome of how fickle we are as a bunch of supporters. 2½ years ago the vast majority of the match-going supporters would have gladly packed Nicky Butt's bags and driven him out of Newcastle..... and now people think he should be team captain? The performances of late (Arsenal match excepted) have been woefully inadequate and no-one is questioning some of Sam's tactics more than me, but I really can't see where sacking him will make the immediate impact that we're all yelling for. I remember back to the summer after we'd bought our stack of players and many were saying that we could almost guarantee ourselves European football and that when I said that we needed to be aiming for consolidation and anything else was a bonus, I was being laughed at. The club has changed from top to bottom in a little over 6 months. We have new ownership, new management, new coaching staff and the biggest overall change in first team players that we've had in many many years. It takes time to knit together and to sack a manager 6 months in because it's not yet right is short-sighted beyond belief. He's only a part of the new picture. And for those of you saying the picture may look even more shitty had other results not gone our way, well that's football. Your destiny is not just in your own hands and half of everything in football IS luck. Cast your minds back to 95/96 when the press love to point out how we threw away a 12 point lead and lost the title. In reality, it was only a 9 point lead and a game in hand but in the last 16 games of the season Man Utd took 44 out of a possible 48 points. We took 27 points which, if Man Utd hadn't been so prolific, would almost cetrainly have delivered the title. My point being that we need to concentrate on what we're doing. If we're higher up the table than you think we deserve then so be it. Accept it as good fortune and not worry that we didn't really deserve it. Not just this, but also that.
  15. You're exactly the sort of person Mr.Bass was saying would be fooled by papering over the cracks. I'm not fooled at all. four games unbeaten is four games unbeaten. Aye, three of which were against teams in the bottom five, forgive me if I'm not overcome with elation. And one that's top tbf. Playing their fourth choice midfield (who haven't played all season) due to injuries, not the same is it? There's always mitigating circumstances. Could equally say that 2 of the 3 bottom 5 teams we played had new managers and a fresh vigour to go with it. So they weren't the pushovers they had been to other teams.

  17. Grey Gardens After watching Salesman last week, I thought I'd follow up with another Maysles documentary. Didn't like it as much but it's still very good. Apparently it's a bit of a gay cult film and I can see why. It's got a lot of Whatever Happened To Baby Jane about it. It follows a reclusive mother and daughter whose home is worse than the one in Fight Club (they feed the vermin )as they tear each other apart and blame each other for their own regrets in life. Taking Liberties Documentary that highlights each of the civil liberties that Tony Blair's government have taken away and which Gordon Brown continues to. It's cheap and nasty and it's old news but it's an inspiration and a shocking case against the introduction of ID cards. Even if you already know every case mentioned, the wealth of stories compiled here is heartbreaking in making it's case that Britain is becoming a police state, but it's also positive that the people can stop it. I cried a few times.
  18. 5!? Jesus, I struggled to get through the one.
  19. Which has what to do with returning an unwanted gift? The unwanted gift was from a secret santa. Try and keep up James, and wipe that snot off your top lip.
  20. You can place a bet on the odds you want, but until someone lays at those odds, your bet won't be placed. 11.4 are currently the best odds being laid.
  21. How many other male models have you heard of then? I never even knew he was one. Erm...Zoolander? But the papers and the glossy mags didn't just start chasing him around for nothing did they? Bobby Charlton has kids, so it's not like it's JUST because he's George Best's son.
  22. Intelligent business woman too then.
  23. I thought he was famous for being a model. Don't think I've ever seen him on a chat show or anything courting publicity. People hate Paris Hilton? poor lass. Is it because she's achieved so much more (in terms of recognition) with her limited talents than we will in our lives.
