  1. Not THAT bad, but canny shite. What I found incredicle was the cavalcade of international crew members that were knocked off one by one to leave only the white crew for the final reel. Was that intentional? Was it meant to be taking the piss out of the B-movie convention? Because it was otherwise very earnest. Otherwise I thought it was acceptable until the unknown crew mwmber arrived and it went drastically down hill in terms of creditability as well as story telling which became as confused as hell.
  2. There aren't any "mundane" Dylan songs, just mundane covers.
  3. one Zoggy has more from left back.
  4. Allardyce your shite, play Milner on the right! Allardyce your shite, play Milner on the right! Allardyce your shite, play Milner on the right! Allardyce your shite, play Milner on the right! Allardyce your shite, play Milner on the right! Allardyce your shite, play Milner on the right! Allardyce your shite, play Milner on the right! Allardyce your shite, play Milner on the right! erm... Milner your shite, try the middle.
  5. We have a problem retaining posession, but I think it stems to some extent from the fans. Any time the ball is played backwards an audible groan goes around the stadium, when it goes back to the keeper people around me are up in arms. I get the impression our players feel they MUST go forward or they'll incur our wrath, so when a simple pass isn't on they launch it in the hope it'll drop for us. More often than not it doesn't and we only succeed in inviting another attack. They can't win.
  6. I've always said Roeder and Allardyce are as good/bad as each other. Souness is worse than them both, but has the distinction of actually winning something, which he'd argue makes him better.
  7. Not particularly cheap anywhere... http://www.sendit.com/dvd/item/7001000139146 Is the best price, but you're better off getting series 1 to 5 from Amazon for now and series 6/the box set will drop in price given a few months. EDIT: Though I guess the box set only works out at £19 per series and they won't really drop much further than that.
  8. Scott Walker 30 Century Man Like many people the Scott Walker phenomenon passed me by completeley until I heard The Drift a couple of years back which I quite liked. I've not delved any further than that one album though. Coming from that angle, what struck me about this film was the fawning hyperbole hoyed about by people like Damon Albarn and Sting, people with seemingly no critical barometer whatsoever who view Walker as a genius for punching slabs of meat for his beat, or moving bins on a surface for his tune, but deride the likes of Yes and Genesis for their pomp, one talking head going so far as to put their fingers down their throat to display vast disgust at such uninspiring drivell. The fact that Walker's currently fashionable doesn't stop Marc Almond providing the films highlight when he pricks everyone's self congratulatory balloon by voicing his opinion that Tilt was "shit". There's also a marvellous moment when they play Lulu a more recent track and without a word you can see she thinks it's a hideous din. Having obviously not heard any of his stuff since he left the charts in the sixties she looks stunned by it. All credit to Walker though, he comes out of it all as an affable bloke struggling with his own creativity but following his own path with a great sense of humour, quite far from the reclusive nature I'd read about.

  10. That has to be a joke! Is Talledega Nights just as shit as Anchorman like?
  11. Don't you respect the way Allardyce is sticking with his plan for Enrique? He's given the 21 year old a taste of what it's like in the premier league with five or so starts, shown him how fast it is and how a couple of wobbles can spell disaster. Then he's completely withdrawn him to concentrate on integrating with the squad and the area rather than pushing him to show that he can cope immediately. Lesser managers have ruined expensive signings at Newcastle by forcing the issue with them and not seeing their obvious potential reached. Under the pressure he's had, for Allardyce to stick to his guns for the good of the player and the good of the club rather than risking him and giving in to the fans to loosen the noose round his own neck earns my respect. Another expensive flop is the last thing we want. None of us can know if he's ready, Allardyce watches him in training every day and until he can keep up with Viduka and Owen or unbalance Martins he won't have a hope against other teams' strike forces. Another angle on this could be that you're giving BS far too much respect and what has really happened is he just doesn't think Enrique is up to the job and the moneys been wasted, another expensive flop and he knows if he plays him the noose will be a round his neck for signing shite. Just a thought I suppose we'll find out if we sign a left back during the transfer window.
  12. i'm sorry but you lost me with this claim. how exactly does no goals in 20 games equate to best performer? fuck me ragged He is probably the only player who has given 100% in every game, he has wore his heart on his sleeve and faught for the cause through out the shite! No, he hasnt scored but he will once he is played upfront consistently and not moved into midfield! the best of smithy will come after his 1st goal! And in responce to sammynb's comments about duff and emre, its pretty simple really, we are resigned to playin charlie at left back and duff has now got the chance to prove his worth, u gotta give him a chance, and too with emre he is the only one with an ounce of creativity in our side! When will some of you guys stop being to fickle and over expectant? "Iwant it now" attitude has fucked us over far too much! Now we need patience... Whinging at the ref and fouling the opposition doesn't constitute 100%. It might be desparation because he's absent in games, but until he sees more of the ball I don't think he can be called our best performer.
  13. How would the wolves know to back off, and the pressure be eased by a private agreement?
  14. Coming out and saying his position won't be reconsidered until the end of the season would be a huge mistake if you ask me.
  15. Like the one by Alan Hansen... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/main.jhtm...1/sfnhan131.xml Which is almost entirely shite and continues to trot out the same tired cliche.
  16. I think they'd have grounds for cancelling his contract if he was in clink during the season.
  17. Just one against the rising tide of Allardyce bashing ones that are wrong as well as unoriginal.

  20. Anyone who knows even a bit about football can see that Zoggy is wasted at LB and Smith has had his best games while deployed up front. Pity the fat man cant/wont change his mind. Peter Beardsley wan on talksport this morning defending Sam`s decision to play Zog at L/B, didnt convince me tbh. some people wanted Beardsley as manager because he was a great player too Who? And when? Did I say people on here ? Paranoid. PS. I could have said there are actually people on here judging Smith as a midfield player too, but I didn't say that either ........ No answer then In all fairness to Leazes, any talk in I've seen Beardsley at. someone has asked him if he'd take the job.
  21. He drags his family to the Metrocentre every week to actively pursue people he can give autographs. He's an autograph whore.

  23. You still off the Tabs Pud? Aye almost a year now, have to say though Ive never been so ill as I have over the last year! Reckon the smoke was killing the germs off beforehand I've gone a month and I've had 2 nasty colds which kept me indoors which has NEVER happened and I've broke out in spots. It's horrific. Thought giving up was meant to clear your skin up.
