  1. Martin Samuel's take on it... http://timesonline.typepad.com/thegame/200...ebate-is-s.html Needs to replace "fans" with "papers" in that last sentence.
  2. It's bad enough having to read your posts once without getting them in duplicate miaow
  3. I will say this though, isn't it brilliant how all the papers over the last few days were full of comment on how we need to stick it out with Allardyce, how we're too trigger happy with managers and should learn to support through the bad as well as the good, but 7 (is it?) other clubs have got rid of their managers this season, some higher in the league, without half the condescending column inches. Haven't we already shown ourselves to be one of the most patient clubs/sets of fans?
  4. Got to be happy with a clean sheet. Ashley was pretty close by and didn't get any anti Allardyce vibes off the fans. Don't know why Alex Ferguson bothered like, it was bloody freezing and we'll have a completely different team and formation against them.
  5. Honestly man, you're becoming a rambling loon. Mebeez if Ashley asked him to resign and he refused you could level the Souness accusation at him, but I can't see that happening for a while.
  6. I thought so too, until I ventured back onto N-O's footy board for the first time in donkey's.
  7. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/col...icle3142293.ece Those last 2 paragraphs in particular are spot on, I particularly like the phrase "Messiahitis" which perfectly sums up a lot of our fans.
  8. Well it was originally a Milan Kundera quote "There are no small parts. Only small actors." It was just funnier when George Costanza used it.
  9. There are hundreds of mundane Dylan songs. It was a tongue in cheek Seinfeld mis-quote. "I guess there are no small diseases, only small actors." See Seinfeld is down there with Dylan for me, hence nein sprechen die Seinfeld. Neanderthal
  10. He HAS started a quarter of our Premier Leeague games by the way.

  12. Tracksuited John Barnes was the peak of ex-toon punditry.
  13. The video is on the website... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/f...cus/default.stm
  14. Aye. He's not as low in my estimation as Butt was after Cardiff and he's redeemed himself somewhat.
  15. Maybe you weren't trying hard enough.
  16. So we'll either play shit or not, and either win or lose? I'm off to the bookies.
  17. Are you able to detect arrogance from so high up in your lofty position? Well, you just have to look at the attitude towards the Americans from some Englishmen as opposed to their attitude towards us, which is far less condescending. Maybe they're a little more ignorant, but not arrogant. It's the same with the French. People think they're all assholes who hate Americans and the English, etc, when in fact they're pretty nice when you get over there and meet them. They even talk our language. Guess it depends on the people. The Americans I've worked with are some of the most astonishingly arrogant people I've met. They are only sent over to save failing projects though, so it might be a dispostion fed by their role.

  19. at least 32.. I remember when the complaint was that our scouting team was one man and his dog. People were creaming themselves over Allardyce's behind the scenes work. Maybe Michael Henderson is on to something in his own racist small minded way.
  20. Definitely not. 1) He's only named one unchganged team since August. The last thing we need is more players to tinker with the mix. 2) We're in a position to be arse raped by clubs charging stupid money...like we were for Owen. 3) He's under a lot of pressure and I get the impression he's arrogant enough to think he'll spend his way up the league (like Souness) rather than hedging his bets to ensure he doesn't make a mistake (like Roeder) with our money. 4) He had good reason to leave Bolton, he took them to a position where they could have backed him to take it to the next level and they didn't match his ambition with cash. Allardyce is in no position to make such demands on us until he takes us to a position that warrants faith in him spending big. 5) Good players generally aren't available during the window. If he wants more strength for the African Nations they should be loan deals (he should have a bit more forthought in the first place). If he wants to trade with his current players I wouldn't be averse to a few million here and there on a good bargain, but not stupid money.
  21. The man talks sense Bordering on Racism. Of course he's ebullient about Arsenal's array of predominantly foreign players. Tit
