  1. Born in Newcastle/North Tyneside 20 points 20 Father supported Newcastle 10 points 10 Went during the boycott 1991 25 points 25 Went before Keegan 20 points Those aren't my scores, but it's feasible that someone who was dragged kicking and screaming to 1 game in '91 could get 75 points. My measly 71 points must mean I'm worse than that traitorous sod, even though I've been to every home game for a decade. I think it's flawed.
  2. Make sure he actually means Blood Simple though, he probably actually means The Day Of The Jackall. My Lebowski shirt arrived yesterday. It's fucking rank.
  3. "They've got Yoda's an' shit on them!" "Only if round is funny!" Raizing Arizona is class.
  4. Whats good about it Alex? The trailers dont inspire me much but its very highly rated. I just loved it. It's a 'slow burner' if you like but I thought the tension was built superbly all the same. Tommy Lee Jones was great as the sheriff and the guy who played the hitman was excellent too. Apart from a few funny bits of dialogue it lacks the humour found in a lot of Coen Brothers films. 2J was spot on when he likened it in 'feel' to 'The Three Burials of Melquides Estrada' (sp?), if you've seen that. Depends if you like that sort of thing really as despite the body count, not a lot happens over the 2 hours or so. On the surface yes. But in reality no. More like 'Blood Simple'. Yes / No to what? Haven't seen 'Blood Simple' btw. ....not like 'The Three...' Blood Simple is th Cohen Brothers first serious film. Better than No Country imo....Although No Country is very good. Also Blood Simple is done in very textured black and white which I just know you will love. Black and White?? Are you commenting on films you haven't seen again? Or is the contrast on your tv broke? You're right I'm getting it mixed up with the B&W they made a few years ago. ....anyway BS is my fav Cohen Brothers film...Pisses over the entire back catalogue. It's a very dark colour in my defence..ho ho No worries. I couldn't sit through Blood Simple myself. I need to give it another shot because it was years ago that I watched it and I was only little. Looked horribly cheap in a real 80's sort of way as I recall it.

  6. Champion. Hope he plays tonight.
  7. His mafia contacts will soon have it brushed under the carpet.
  8. Out of the all the people currently in the betting (on Paddy Power), I'd range from underwhelemed to disgusted if we got any of these... Steve McClaren Dick Advocaat John Collins Mark Hughes Claudio Ranieri Chris Coleman Mark McGhee Steve Clarke Paul Ince Fatih Terim Glenn Hoddle George Graham Harry Redknapp Slaven Bilic Gianluca Vialli Gordon Strachan Marco Van Basten Roberto Martinez Stuart Pearce Billy Davies Terry Venables Roy Keane Steve Bruce David O'Leary Bobby Robson David Moyes Thomas Schaaf Ruud Gullit Aidy Boothroyd Graeme Sounness Steve Coppell Martin O’Neill Which means I'd be satisfied by the rest, which are... Kevin Keegan Ottmar Hitzfeld Didier Deschamps Jose Mourinho Alan Shearer Guus Hiidink Gerard Houllier Martin Jol Giovanni Trappatoni Louis Van Gaal Marcelo Lippi Rafa Benitez Out of those that have expressed any interest so far, I'd have to go with Deschamps.
  9. I can't decide if I'm impressed or disgusted that Shearer got a phone call to explain why he wasn't being considered. It keeps him sweet if we're desperate later on I guess.
  10. I thought I'd put my thoughts on here, but it must've only been N-O... I never mentioned how funny I thought it was though.
  11. Do you have to get a certain score or be banned?
  12. ...Just like Gullit I'm a gif master after finding this... http://gickr.com/upload_files
  13. I was having my usual extended lie in while the radio was on and heard that. I instantly jumped out of bed and did a little excited run about the flat. Yes please. At last we'll have someone on the coaching staff who's probably still as good as most of the players, rather than having never been. Someone to demand respect.
  14. They've got to know more than The Chronicle It's Redknapp It's Hughes It's Houllier Fuck it, we haven't got a clue!
  15. I Am Legend I love Will Smith. I've not actually watched many of his films, but he's hilarious in Fresh Prince ("Know Wha' am Sayin'?"), And he's a loveable rogue in Independence Day and Men in Black, and he's nails in Ali. I Robot was even canny. One thing he can't convey though is mental anguish and psychological breakdown. Screwing your face up to look confused and scratching your head like Stan Laurel just doesn't cut the mustard I'm afraid. Almost as bad as Robert De Niro trying to cry. Nevertheless, a few scenes in this one got the nerves tingling a little bit. Despite some terrible looking baddies (how does a wasting disease improve your agility?) it wasn't bad and personally I quite liked the ending that a lot of people seem to be complaining about (though I'd agree it could have been cut together better to build to more of a climax). It's certainly a change to what you'd get if it was Tom Cruise or Tom Hanks.
  16. Perhaps being constantly bullied in North East but worshiped in the North West has something to do with it.
  17. Yeah. I rang the ticket office to double check they'd sorted my card with it being the first one.. They had.
  18. Personally I couldn't give a fuck if he's lamped some scouse twat, he's shown himself to be a capable box to box midfielder at Man City. We're crying out for that at the moment. Ok, so the 8 games he's started so far haven't been great, but nobody's been great this season and if we're going to play on the floor a bit more like the last three or four games suggest, he could come into his own. Maximum fine for his stupidity and get on with it.
  19. FYP stupid cunt You should have got a petition started against that sense of humour bypass.
  20. "Garer! Garer!" Jarrow's full of mackems. Get it vetoed smartish.
  21. ...and to think Mort has put us through all this cause SA asked for money to spend in Jan. Source?
