  4. 1. I'm having meatballs and spagetti. 2. And a nice can of LCL. 3. Took my shoes off to get comfy. 4. Gutted I smoked 5 tabs last night, but I was too excited. 5. I think this thread is fucking cringeworthy. Makes Alan Oliver look like the Fonz.
  5. Bit harsh given his string of excellent saves in the game. A string og saves that ANY PL keeper would of been expected to make. The 4 reflects upon his absolutely appauling kicking throughout the match, which i remember saying in the 1st half would get us into trouble and in the end it eventually did. He could and should of got a stronger hand to ronaldo's freekick and didnt as well. And beleive me mate i am a huge fan of given, one of the best keepers in europe but he has been a bit suspect this season IMHO Harper has twice as many clean sheets in half as many games this year. He must've pulled off 8 or 9 saves on Saturday though(from simple to outstanding imo), it could've been 10 if not for him and Taylor. It was like watching Shaolin Soccer they were allowed through so often.

  8. Test your Keegan knowledge http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/funny_old_game/7193753.stm
  9. Apparently not... http://www.football365.com/story/0,17033,8...3054639,00.html Keegan out!
  10. Is he going to convert him to Islam like? I read an intersting stat on that the other day... The number of suicide attacks has grown rapidly, from an average of 4.7/year in the 1980s to 180/year in the first half of the 00s, and from 81 suicide attacks in 2001 to 460 in 2005. Almost 10 a week!
  11. Did they have the bottom tier, or did the club just not sell tickets there as Stoke fans are scum that would coin the good Geordie stock below.
  12. This is the Messiah, the Chosen One! No, he's not. Aaaagh! An unbeliever! An unbeliever! Persecute! Kill the heretic! Kill the heretic! Kill him! Persecute! Kill!...
  13. Hasn't this been discussed. Didn't Barton pillory Keegan after he went? I've not seen any quotes like.
  14. Flicking through Metro this morning I read about Crusaders the new book by Richard T Kelly out today. Can't find the article, bu I thought given it's North Eastern bent a few on here might be interested... Joel Rickett, The Independent on Sunday, January 6 2008 `A powerful, assured literary arrival that will create loyal congregations of devoted followers... darkly humorous... reaches a thrilling crescendo.' Alfred Hickling, The Guardian, January 5 2008 `A Dostoyevskian doorstopper... with an almost Tolstoyan seriousness of purpose... A weighty achievement... its long, complex narrative is impressively sustained.'
  15. I reckon only watching games on TV is why the majority of pundits talk absoloute shite. Have you ever watched soccer saturday? Jesus wept.
  16. "Ok, my backroom staff are key to my success here, Pearson, I know you've said a word or two about Allardyce going, but I know you can teach players how to defend, I can't so you're pivotal. Round your well respected in the game and you did a fine job for the FA, I want you to keep up that good work.... .....Mcdermott, get my bags out the car would you?"
  17. That 'e' on the end of his name is all wrong. I have an irrational dislike of him purely on that basis alone.
  18. sums up my feelings. all my pals down here think i've lost the plot and every rational bone in my body is telling me it's a barmy appointment. he's a dinosaur; yesterday's man; things have moved on since he was last in charge.... .... but it will definitely work without a shadow of a doubt. FYP
  19. Hard to see how Keegan would know which players he wants having been out of the game so long. In any case, I reckon we have a pretty decent squad to get us by seeing as we aren't going anywhere this season. Perfect for getting Keegers feet under the table and then launching an all out assault in the summer. After the match he said he's arrived with a good quality squad so I don't think he sees an overhaul being needed.
  20. He does strike me as a bit of a Hoddle. I don't mean he has a deep hatred of the handicapped, just that he'll have an ego that will alienate his players. Wasn't one of Hoddle's problems as well that when he was training at Spurs he still tried to prove he was the best player on the training pitch as well. exacly!
  21. Aye. A good thing about Keegan is his refusal to compromise. Once he thought he was compromising last time he just went. He can live with or without football. You can be sure the players that come will be the players he wants.
