  1. I don't know if this would be very wise as this could severely undermine Keegan's position. There's no reason for it to. If it had been left for a few months and Keegan was struggling, it might heap pressure on him to breaking point. As it is, it's a pre-emptive move that ensures stability at the club long term while the current manager has the full backing of both the board AND the fans. I'm sure Keegan must be alright with it, because he's never been known to compromise (apart from accepting Arthur Cox couldn't be on his staff at England, which he's still bitter about and sees as a huge contributor to his international failure). A manager brings in the best young players and trains them to push the first team for places, Morshley is just making the same common sense preparation that Keegan does with his team. Pressure to produce is a good thing to be placed on EVERYONE at the club from the get go, rather than from a point of free fall.
  2. You sure of all that??? I could only see Wise as KK's replacement, if he (Keegan) was sacked or walked out, for a short term until a full time manager was appointed. Wise got Leeds relegated yes? Did fuck all at Swindon ??? Like the 'Morshley' thing btw He took Millwall into the UEFA cup. He wasn't at Swindon long but he had an excellent start, and Swindon desperately tried to hold onto him. He took Leeds down after taking them over mid-season in the shit, and getting a 10 point deduction.
  3. Should it be "lack thereof"? genuine question
  4. Keegan - "I am reluctant to tell you all I know ...... I really do not know anything." Way to let the cat out of the bag you douche!
  5. I think you can pretty much guarantee that Wise is being groomed as Keegans replacement. He's been the most impressive up and coming British manager in the lower leagues for a couple of years. Always had his teams up the top end and never been in danger of getting sacked. Morshley doesn't give a shit about his popularity within the game, all they know is he's overachieved at each club he's been at, and they want someone experienced like that lined up should anything unexpected happen, or just to take the reigns in three and a half years.
  6. I'm 6 episodes into The West Wing and have to say it's pretty fucking good. It's amazing to watch the pre 9/11 sensibilities being played out by a president based on Clinton, there's even an episode called proportional response that shows the anger a foreign attack on Americans can generate within the White House but shows cool heads prevailing over the demons advocating carpet bombing the shit out of the enemy....2 years before Bush made that mistake. I've heard there's an awful episode or two that originally aired after 9/11 and it'll be interesting to see how the show changes after that, but so far it's been an intelligent, funny show I can't get enough of.
  7. I think it's the opposite. Too many times under Shepherd we sacked the manager with no idea who'd be taking over. After doing the same himself with Allardyce, Morshley would seem to prefer to have someone at the club ready to step into the role when it becomes available. Normally it would be a man on the coaching or playing staff, but it looks to me like Morshley wants his own man ready, fully versed in how things are run at the club. For once it's long term thinking that ensures a seamless transition between managers and gets one of the best performing up and coming British managers setting the club up how he'd like it to be when he takes on the role. The questions are if Keegan is happy to bed in a new man that he hasn't picked himself and exactly how much sway Wise will hold at the club.
  8. Agreed, some already starting to question KK's and Morts decisions, saying they hate Wise when I bet there's not one of them ever met the bloke. You couldn't make this shit up I never met Hitler, but by his reported actions it's pretty safe to say he was a shit. That's not to say I'm unhappy Wise is here, he must be almost exactly the same age Keegan was when he arrived. A young, enthusiastic coach to get free tickets to all Vinny Jones' new film premiers for the players. Excellent for morale. We'll have Madonna and Nic Cage coming to our games too. He's being mentioned in the same breath as Hitler now. Ok he's had a couple of scuffles in his life, who fucking hasn't? And which of us haven't broken a lads jaw unprovoked? And who can say in all honesty that they've never been interviewed by the polis for chasing after a 13 year old lad? His reputation of being a twat is clearly as undeserved as Barton's. I'm 100% behind the little wanker though....until Keegan says he doesn't like him being here.
  9. I think it's safe to say from Keegan's comments that it's nowt to do with him, it'll be an upstairs job, nowt to do with first team affairs. And if it the appointment started intefering with Keegans plans, he's the uncompromising type who's quite happy to walk away from a club that won't let him manage his own way. He's going to be Ashley's dancing monkey.

  11. If someone came to me with a Macdonalds A level certificate asking for work Id prob piss myself laughing tbf. Not just because we dont sell burgers either. I don't know what business you're in, but if it was Burker King franchising that would be a strange way to react to someone having all the right qualifications. Of course, 5 stars on their name tag would do the job as well as any diploma.
  12. On offer? It's £99 now. £98.96 Heh, I jumped on this when it was first posted. Nice one Gauge.
  13. Kids will be throwing away their bunsen burners and rushing to McDonalds to get these new exclusive qualifications. Won't somebody think of the children! Well as has been said it isn't actually an A-Level but the point still stands. It doesn't like
  14. Who's got Dennis Wise? Who's got Dennis Wise? Keggy Keegle Keggy Keegle He's got Dennis Wise YOU! SHORT! BASTAD! YOU! SHORT! BASTAD!

  16. I know an 'A' level in burger bar management would be a step up for you Nicos. It's always been the dream. Joint Honours with Film Studies? It'd probably be more valuable on the job market than chemistry and maths..
  17. He's spent ages getting his scarf knot tied just right to show the crest, completely oblivious to the fact he looks a cunt whatever he does with it.
  18. If they don't fear you, they don't respect you. ...and you end up like Terry McDermott, with Mark Viduka wiping his arse on your tache on national television while the entire bench point and laugh.
  19. Can someone tell me how often a team outside the top half of the top league have EVER won the FA cup? Generally any upsets that occur are in the earlier rounds, no? I might be way off, but I thought it's only ever been once in a blue moon that a lower team might go all the way. It used to more common that a team lower down in the league would win it now and again though. Now it's always one of the 'big four' whereas if you go back to before the Premier League it was won by teams like Wimbledon and Coventry - who both had decent sides but now the gap between those four and the rest seems massive and you have to go back over ten years for one of those lot not winning it. The year Wimbledon won it is the first match I remember watching, so I haven't really got a clue what it was like up to then. Obviously I know there were a few shocks like the Mackems and Southampton (in addittion to those you list), but did lower league teams often go through to the later rounds in larger numbers? I've always enjoyed the FA Cup for the shocks of the first few rounds, and it hasn't really changed to me noticeably while I've watched football.
  20. Is it just me and Moose that always use "He closed his eyes!"
  21. Yeah, but that's no excuse. You don't get Graham Taylor lamenting the fact that Carlton Palmer isn't in a more high profile position anywhere.

  23. Gay-lick It's literally the language of the gays, decended through many centuries. Poor form for you not to be on board with it.
  24. I ate some cheese before bed last week to induce nightmares and (I shit you not) I dreamed that Souness was back at Newcastle . Back on Wise though, the main reason people were against Shearer was that he hadn't proven himself in the lower leagues. Wise has, and it still means shit to people. Of course he's a dwarf, a dwarf. It's plain to see, to see. But it's no reason to doubt his ability behind the scenes.
