  1. Keegan's had games against the two extremes now. Arsenal like acres of space, passing rather than running, Bolton hoy 10 men behind the ball and chase down everything. The fact that we've created more chances in the two games against the leagues top team, than we ever looked like creating against Bolton is a worry in terms of not having a top class door opener who can punish weaker teams for sitting back. Hitting the bar, Smith missing a sitter from 5 yards out and a couple of other half chances going begging against Arsenal is more worrying for me though, because even if we create chances against the poorer teams, no-one looks like being able to take them. We really miss Martins and Viduka in all honesty. With Zoggy at left back our highest scoring attacking player only has 2 goals.
  2. what? great album. Yeh i know but its like listening to a Nasa computer have a heart attack while a near by Alien sucks on a marker pen Not as good as the masterpiece that is De-loused in the Crematorium, but still very good. The VBedlam In Goliath is there new one out this week in case you never knew. Hot Chip - Made In The Dark
  3. Murmurings of discontent after 2 defeats to Arsenal. We are fickle as fuck like.
  4. Did I watch a different game to the BBC man? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/e...rem/7210572.stm "Dismal"? They had one more shot on target than we did! We were dismal against Man U. Tonight we wereas average as anyone would expect. "Manchester City manager Kevin Keegan:" Do they do this shit to wind us up? Fucking amateur hour.
  5. Not as depressed as some on here seem to be. We haven't sat back and soaked up wave after wave of attack or owt....except for the last 10 m!nutes.
  6. It is a bit cutting edge like, Leazes still hasn't got Shepherd out of his system. So, Bellamy or Souness, who was right?
  7. You heard of Overlord? Made in 1975 it combines documentary footage with original footage that blends in with it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overlord_%28film%29 http://www.hmv.co.uk/hmvweb/displayProduct...&sku=764422 Meant to be harshly overlooked at the time.
  8. There is a difference between industry backed and funded professional qualifications, and nationaly equivalent publicly monitored and assessed qualifications. The McDiploma is an abortion of both, a complete fudge. Good point.
  9. The snobbery on here doesn't suprise me in the least. I get classroom based training where I work, I get certificates and accreditations that are of no use whatsoever outside of the industry I work in (I.T.). I'm sure accountants, plumbers, actuaries, joiners, make-up artists, chefs, farmers and most other trades have similar. WHAT THE FUCK gives anyone the right to say that working your way up the fast food ladder (which I'd imagine to be a pretty sizeable industry) should have any less of a structure than any other job in the country? Christ all Blighty!
  10. Generally, people seem to love it like. I hated the crock of shit personally.
  11. Nobody on this planet could come in to NUFC and turn things round overnight, Kev's last start with us was a battle but things came together given that little bit of time and patience. If you refuse to get behind Keegan managing our club then you shouldn't even have the cheek to call yourself a member of the Toon Army - just a worshiper of Southern shit-stirring hacks. I made the same point to Parky who's worried that the initial burst of enthusiasm will quickly wane and see us drop like lead balloons unless we sign someone. I don't think anyone seriously wants Keegan out though.
  12. Tbf he is one of the better writers.
  13. I think we need to know a bit more about what he did for Real before judging him on that, like how long was he there for, was he just doing the odd bit of scouting or was he more senior? who did he find for them? etc. Whoever brought in Zoggy can keep their job. This new bloke can't be any worse than the rest of them.
  14. Seems to have it in his blood. We've hired a scout. Great. Why all the hoopla? Most top clubs have a dozen of these little cunts. The hoopla seems to be around Ernie Wise. You started the thread about the three of them. They need my special treatment is why. From what I know of DW is that he isn't the same persona wise as he was as a player and has been a good organiser at Leeds - he got Poyet in after all and deserves credit for that. The role he seems to be playing for us is a strange one ie in the back room..I'd have him as a coach, hands on. Was always a clever player and could pass on many good things. Vespa is a professional scout and social climber who seems to have hit the jackpot and embedded himself with MA. There is nothing however in his record as a scout to suggest he's discovered anyone for anyone ever - unless you count Tijani Babangida.. The fixer was the schemer behind getting Ramos to Spurs. Not sure apart from building flats what he can do. I'm not going to pretend to know anything about these people, but a multi-lingual scout good enough to get work at Real Madrid sounds like a step up from Chris McMenemy.

  16. I don't know if this would be very wise as this could severely undermine Keegan's position. There's no reason for it to. If it had been left for a few months and Keegan was struggling, it might heap pressure on him to breaking point. As it is, it's a pre-emptive move that ensures stability at the club long term while the current manager has the full backing of both the board AND the fans. I'm sure Keegan must be alright with it, because he's never been known to compromise (apart from accepting Arthur Cox couldn't be on his staff at England, which he's still bitter about and sees as a huge contributor to his international failure). A manager brings in the best young players and trains them to push the first team for places, Morshley is just making the same common sense preparation that Keegan does with his team. Pressure to produce is a good thing to be placed on EVERYONE at the club from the get go, rather than from a point of free fall. The fatal flaw in this argument is that never in a million years will Newcastle fans call for Wise to be made manager over Keegan. Nor would we accept it. I'd have said the same thing about Harry Redknapp. It didn't stop Morshley making the approach.
  17. I might be talking bollocks like as apparently Wise isn't interested in management any more. But I reckon we could do worse if he was up for it.
  18. You sure of all that??? I could only see Wise as KK's replacement, if he (Keegan) was sacked or walked out, for a short term until a full time manager was appointed. Wise got Leeds relegated yes? Did fuck all at Swindon ??? Like the 'Morshley' thing btw He took Millwall into the UEFA cup. He wasn't at Swindon long but he had an excellent start, and Swindon desperately tried to hold onto him. He took Leeds down after taking them over mid-season in the shit, and getting a 10 point deduction. The UEFA cup achievement was because of losing finalists in the FA cup - something quite achievable if the run to the final is an easy one. He still took Leeds down. Poyet made the differance at Leeds. Wise is only coming cause he's friends with Ventner or whatever his name is, who drinks with Mo da rock who bought a car off Ashley the brick. How do you know this? Or are we just going on hearsay? Poyet made the diffence when they went on a fantastic run of results this year, but Wise made the difference in taking them down. How good are Newcastle fans at looking on the gloomy side.
