  1. Cox-Cyzer A double barrel name that screams porn career.
  2. I've not been as excited about my football for ages to be honest with you, I'm counting down the days to our next games, which I could never say under Allardyce. This might have something to do with me thinking (or at least having an ounce of hope - which I never had under Allardyce) that Keegan will ram the negativity down the likes of Rico's throat.
  3. If only we'd spunked £12M up the wall on the likes of Alves in our desperation to sign someone.....anyone.
  4. I'd like to see bolton win it...and get relegated. Would they qualify automatically or would things kick off like they did for Liverpool?
  5. It's funny watching the news. A packed house of commons for the budget, a half full house for Camerons response, and just the speaker sat there listening to Clegg.
  6. "This is me at school winning our medal in the football team" "I'm guessing you're the miserable sod!"
  7. I've got family on child benefit but also have family that drive for a living. Swings and roundabouts. Otherwise it's just the coppers on tabs and booze for me. Someone was on the radio the other day saying wine and spirits should not get a tax rise but alcopops and Lambrini should get an astronomical hike so that kids pocket money can't get them hospitalised. Seemed sensible to me like.
  8. Aldi are doing a deal from tomorrow.... http://aldi.co.uk/uk/html/offers/58_5285.htm for £499 Dunno if those numbers are any good like.
  9. Punch Drunk Love Another viewing as I'm in a real PTA mood after There Will Be Blood. Lovely stuff. "I want to take a hammer and smash your face in" . I've had to order Hard Eight too, as I've liked/loved everything he's done and it's the only one of his I've not seen yet.
  10. Piss off man you big fanny. Went with wor lass a few weeks ago and can honestly say if it wasn't for Keira Knightly showing a bit of flesh then I would have walked out and left wor lass to walk home. A lad sitting in front of me on a double date summed it up superbly when the credits rolled turning to his date saying, "Fuck me it's Friday night, I've just wasted 12 quid on that shower of shit, you better have your bj lips on!" What's the matter Smo, not enough car chases for you? I'm with SMO on this one like. Not quite as bad as all that, but in no way deserving of the plaudits it's received. That scene on the beach was very average if you ask me. I'm a sucker for an uncut scene, if it's well executed, but the director seemed to have told everyone on the beach just to do their thing and had the cameraman walk among them with a steadicam. There were a couple of cues that had to be timed right, like the men singing and the poor horses, but nothing whatsoever to put this in the same league as recent instant classic tracking shots like Children of Men (which fucks with your head by warping the space it's in and placing the camera where people are sitting in the car or by taking it through solid walls) or Timecode or Russian Ark (which both have a scale to them to dwarf Atonements one scene). I wouldn't complain, if the scene had any place being in the film, if it added anything, but it doesn't, it's clearly there because the director wanted to show off, but it only makes that middle section drag interminably. I was also disappointed how they took the literary conceit of an author writing autobiographically, and transposed it to film quite well with timeshifts, point of view changes and running the film backwards, only to give it up in the end and go straight to the old woman author telling the story straight to camera. It's a shame they couldn't keep up the inventive storytelling via film, rather than resorting to Titanic style old woman voice over.
  11. Hope you haven't yet..... http://www.sendit.com/dvd/item/7001000137682
  12. "If we start it loading now we can have a game after tea....if it loads at all which is a 10-1 shot" "I'm going to play out"
  13. A lovely Astra (Thompers wet dream tbh) I smashed up in the Swan House underpass.
  14. I think the copy I watched might have been worse than I thought. I suspected there was something missing from where he got his son. I'd read he adopted him but I think the scene that explains it was missing. I'll have to try and download it myself at some point. I've heard there's shitty copies about like. One that misses out the final scene which would have been awfully disappointing.
  15. FYP Don't be fooled by Rossi's finishing position. Only two bikes with Bridgestones finished in the top half, Stoner and Rossi which must scare the other teams because they finished 1st and 4th respectively on shite tires so what's to gong to be like once they get their tires right? HF, superbikes and MotoGp are two different categories. And baseball's not rounders....they're both still boring as fuck. Mate for a man that thinks Aki Kaurismäki's first student film about drying paint entitled Paint Dry is a masterpiece that's a big call. Now you mention it, he was interviewed in last months Sight and Sound, I wanted to take a look at his stuff. Thanks for the reminder. HF, if that's the case just start at Leningrad Cowboys Go America, the man is a genius (and not of James Bl©unt proportions.) Also if you get a chance see to see Aki's older brother, Maki, film Zombie and the Ghost train (Zombie ja Kummitusjuna) make sure you see it, it's a classic of Finnish cinema. That was the dvd reviewed....and highly praised.
  16. At the risk of incurring the wrath of the "just a film" brigade I'll just paste what I wrote (over several posts) on N-O. Spoilers whited out...
