Did he? Spinal Tap, Curb your enthusiasm & Peter Kay spring to mind as shows that used a documentary format before Gervais did, or is that not what you meant? I do think he's great though. The Christmas Extras and Office are two shows I enjoyed even more than the hype says I should. I meant that while the other two were pretty straight comedies using a mockumentary format, Gervais added genuine depth to the characters. Clever writing and some decent acting were bywords for that show from the beginning. People watched Curb and That Peter Kay Thing for laughs, and while most people tuned into watch the Brent charcter, they stayed tuned in for the interaction between Dawn and... that bloke. IT wasn't a sitcom anymore, it was more like a drama-com.. They were just Ross and Rachel I see what you're saying.

Annoys me because the snooker hall is always packed for a few weeks when it's on. Our luxurious 4 hours of quiet play are interrupted by shitty little 14 year olds doing behind their back trick shots and we can only get a table for an hour or two.
