“Providing the owner backs me – and I’ve no proof of that yet, but no doubts he will – I can get three or four players in and if I can do that – and we have luck and no injuries to key, key players – then we might be able to win the ‘second league’ in the Premiership.” http://www.journallive.co.uk/nufc/newcastl...61634-20865971/

Carr, Troisi and Geordie Boy Peter Ramage to leave
Happy Face replied to Snake's topic in Newcastle Forum
So long Sam Dingle, good luck. Fuck off Carr, have a word with Keane and see if you can help relegate them next year. -
Abramovich loves football. He's spent millions in Russia setting up academies and getting kids playing the game, he helped CSKA to winning the UEFA cup, he was instumental in getting Hiddink in for the Russian national team, and then there's what he's done at Chelsea. Ashley might be enjoying himself, but I think it's clear he has no interest in being so altruistic. It's just another gamble to Ashley if you ask me, far more of a plaything than Abramovich who loved the game long before coming to England. Ashley only worries that England didn't get into the Euro's because Umbro shirt sales won't get the normal summer boost. Glad to have him here, but I don't think the comparisons are entirely accurate. Of course Abramovich's love of the game brings it's own problems, he has a strong opinion on the footballing direction of his club so you get situations like the Shevchenko purchase and Grant's coup d'etat for example.

Gascoigne's tears trace the chronicle of tragedy foretold
Happy Face replied to Dr Gloom's topic in Newcastle Forum
Of course you can't just tell him to turn up the next day to work and everything is okay. He's seriously mentally and physically ill, so the first thing is to cure him. Getting him to live a normal life can only be the second step. Though I think the club should seriously look into taking things into its hand and show some social responsibility. I reckon Gazza has no interest in knuckling down, he craves attention and wants the column inches he's always had, whether good or bad. He could have knuckled down at Boston but left because they wouldn't let him do I'm a celebrity... a quiet steady job that keeps him out of the papers obviously doesn't cater to his ego enough. That Speight bloke was suicidal, holding your head under water in the bath and ordering a steak knife without the steak on room service is just pathetic attention seeking. -
generally you configure the router by going to 192.168.0.1 or possibly 192.168.1.1 it will tell you in your manual. One in there you can set up a WEP key. Depending on what operating system you're using will determine how easy it is to set up a network. Im on vista and it was fairly straight forward case of hooking the machine into the network and then changing the sharing properties on each machine to whatever you want within the Netwrok and Sharing Centre. Or I think Jimbo mentioned some software in this or another thread which sets it all up for you. Cheers, I got to the setup page and it lists my other devices as recognised by the router....but I'm still not sure about setting up the network. I'm not trying to add PC's to the network, I only have the one....it's my archos player, xbox360 and Wii that I want to use to view content held on my PC. I'll have to have a gander at their instruction manuals to see how I connect to a network.

You could only hire him if you could trust him. If he's out snorting coke with the Academy kids he could be a liability. His alcoholism led to the sack from Kettering, so a job in the game won't necessarily get his act together for him. -

To be fair to his friends and family I don't know the story, it was probably phrased a tad accusingly, but they might have given him chance after chance which he's spurned with his own stupidity. He's certainly been given opportunities by people in the game, only to let them down badly. I'd love him to knuckle down and maybe work with kids up here because I'm sure he still loves the game, but you can't help someone that won't help themself. -
Waterstones do online sales too though, and they're invariably more expensive than Amazon, Play and HMV. I hate how the only deals they seem to do are BOGOF or 3 books for £15. I rarely buy more than one book at a time, I'd much rather the lowest individual price they can manage. *Just been to the website and they've got a half price sale on they obviously made a pre-emptive response to my point.

Still, I suppose he'll be entitled to free tickets being a druggie. -
I was canny mongoloided, but I remember one bit of passing where we had Chelsea helplessly chasing after the ball. I was creaming myself. Allardyce would have been seething at the players for having the audacity to do anything but hoof the ball back into Chelsea posession.

I'd say it was a plea for help, but anyone who doesn't know he needs help must live on the moon. Where the fuck have his family been the last few years? -
Did anyone expect us to break into the top 4? The comments just provide ammo to the 'deluded' taunts we get. Maybe Ashley wants it, but surely not next year. One step at a time, survival this year, Uefa cup next year, Champions league the following year, title in Keegans last year.

I'm amazed he even started a thread when he could have just PM'd you. Personally I think anyone looking at the current economic climate and thinking "Yes, now IS the time to invest heavily in a bricks and mortar company that deals in luxury items and not reposession" wants their head read. But I've never worked in a record shop so I don't know what I'm talking about.

I'm starting to find that a bit tedious tbh, tortued soul blahblahblah. I agree. Parky made me laugh earlier when he said "It'll be good if it's dark". Why's that? The Batman TV show was better than any of the films.

If I were you I REALLY would start trading online first, even if it's just ebay. There's a lad at work who subsidises his income trading vinyl on ebay. Got a sweet deal on a joblot of 1600+ albums which he's at least quadrupled his money on by selling one at a time. You'd need to do that several times over. Can be a fun little earner that way. Diving straight into a property, keeping stocked, paying staff, sticking to opening hours are all probably more worth the risk if you can prove the demand first and live off the online orders without the expense of outgoings other than postage.

A housemate of mine a few years ago shagged his lass whilst watching that on Valentine's Day. I remember feeling a confusing mixture of disgust, and admiration at his perseverance. "You were making out during Schindlers List?" Don't get the reference, sorry. Seinfeld. His mother found out. -
It is funny how students think "I'm only here once" and run up 20K debts that cripple them for life, while apprentices go down the Bigg Market, have a fight and a stress free life. [/gross generalisation]
