I think people are saying what they feel nothing wrong with that. Only a fool would think there is nothing going on, cause there clearly is. KK has made these comments off his own back and he has made comments in the recent past about not really knowing what there is to spend etc and also that Ashley will back him. I'm uncomfortable with the fact that there seems to be too many quotes coming out of the club in one way or another from KK and Mort regarding management issues and ambition and the summer transfer market. One thing I'm totally sure about looking at KK's persona is that he has a need to iron out various issues internally and also IMO he feels a bit left out. What he feels left out about we can only speculate about, but the general impression I get is that things aren't going smoothly. But Mort came out and said how much he agreed with Keegan, as has Coppell and Pompey head. In fact Coppell said himself that he made these comments ages ago, but no-one gave a fuck when he said it. Keegan has only made these comments in post and pre match interviews, it's not like he's Stevie Taylor chasing journalists all over the shop.

Of course if Zoggy played at left back most of the season, or Milner hadn't been used on the left wing, or we hadn't lost half the team to the African Nations for a month, or if we hadn't employed the long ball to two of the leagues shortest strikers, or if we hadn't gone to the likes of Derby to play for a draw then perhaps we wouldn't have been wishing for such a back door bit of opportunism.

I love how people have spun a few comments to suit themselves, whatever they think. Half the people think Ashley reckons we should be challenging for the title. Half the people think Ashley isn't willing to put the money in to do it. Half the people think Ashley is throwing money at Keegan. Half the people think Keegan is playing a game to get more money. Half the people think Keegan has no worries on getting cash, just on being able to attract players good enough to win it. Any other takes to add to it all?

I'd hope it'll all happen in the afternoon/evening after training. It's only an hour flight isn't it? Even if it's a one hour flight, it's unnecessary don't you think? I certainly don't think Ashley has the best footballing interests in mind by arranging it. He comes up to Newcastle, oversees training and THEN meets with Keegan - it's how it should be done anyway. I don't know the ins and outs. If Mort and Wise are already down there trying to convince some 18 year old genius to sign for us, or Ashley is agreeing a £500M sponsorship deal with Nike, I'd say going down there was common sense, given that this weekends fixture has very little impact on the future of the club.
