No, there are dozens of football channels on vdubt. Beast uses exactly the same ones. As it does for the films and TV shows on Genesis. Shite you would never use is still using the memory on your device though and making the stuff you want to watch run worse. It's more like buying a shit swiss army knife with 25 tools, including a shit screwdriver that doesn't grip very well, or buying an actual screwdriver because that is what you want to use.
-
People should realise, the hassle (or ease) of setting up "The Beast" is exactly the same as the hassle of setting up any other add on whatsoever. It's the same menu system for kodi regardless. So, some of us have only added 3 basic channels that cover everything we need (TV, film, Sport). CT has added one massive add on that incorporates those but also everything else from Wham Karaoke to chilean webcams.

Aye, it's a perfect solution for anyone so lazy they can't sort their wires out

My fault for not seeing Gemmill's unhelpful post.
-
No, it's not something you need to install. But you need to install something to get any content. Question you need to answer is whether you're going to follow the advice of CT or Ant Gemmill and me? I know what I would do.
-
Nah, start with Genesis. That will get you loads of tv and films and the ability to set favourites for easy browsing... https://seo-michael.co.uk/how-to-manually-install-gotv-for-xbmc/ Other add ons are added in the same way. For me, vdubt and Phoenix are the only others I use.
-
it can be as small as you like, the issue is the number of add-ons it will access, they're just links in his setup so adds nothing to the size, but they're running dozens of add-ons for your system and each one will use memory to run as opposed to space on an install.

Can't remember how bad the Pi was, but firestick still frustrates. Just browsing through films and TV does become a chore waiting for a new screen to load, but it's not been bad enough to stop me using it so far, especially for the saturday football which is quality once you find the game you want. Other thing you can do is cast your whole PC screen to a chromecast. I only have a work laptop so it's a pain for me to go into the other room and cast from my desktop pc, but with a laptop on your knee on the sofa it would be much better I guess.
-
Also, if you have a chromecast/android phone it's even easier than it is with a firestick. Just install the kodi app on your phone, install the add-ons you want and cast your phone screen to your big screen. I prefer to use my firestick to this though, because you have to leave the phone screen on which is a battery destroyer, even at the lowest brightness, when your watching a lot.

Can't believe so many people are behind CT on this mind There's no difference in setup fundamentally between xbmc & kodi or raspberry pi & firestick other than since gemmill did a detailed guide 2 years back it's now become so easy even CT can do it. It's the addons that change. Genesis, phoenix and vdubt piss on 1channel and icefilms and that which used to be the main ones. Advise people follow Ant's advice. Installing something called the "beast" tells you it's going to be big, needlessly so for those that only want TV, films and sports from a tiny firestick.

Never heard any in the singing section. -
Been bought a ticket for krept & konan. I'll have to have a listen to them

My point has always been that in the vast majority of cases it's both, not one or the other... and that it's radicaisedl Islam, not Islam. You sound very reasonable blaming radical Islam here. I've only argued against the less reasonable view that Muslims are violent because their religion is violent. The interchangeability of both does the discussion no favors.

You went on from relaying news and relayed your fears of ISIS cells through the US. The 350 other mass killings that didn't (as yet) lead to extremist cells sprouting up across the US is relevant because people and religions ARE all the same, whatever you might think. Most people of any religion are horrified by any violence perpetrated in the name of that religion. Most people living comfortably, not being bombed, without family being bombed, with freedom to do as they please don't choose to become political/religious mass murderers. My first thought following any act of terrorism is sadness. I wouldn't (and didn't) think of making any comparison. I only responded to you because the fear in your post wasn't one I'd seen presented following similar acts. If you feel discriminating between similar acts is appropriate, worrying that some are worse than others depending on the religion of the individual(s) that committed them, I think it's worth saying I disagree with that.
-
Nope, never excused militant Islam anything either.
-
If you're satisfied that I've excused nothing then we're back to the question of why you prefer to show discrimination against one religion. I'd say it's a better mentality to look at events equally. That's been the crux of our discussion from the Saudi thread, through Paris, Syria and and now this shooting in the US. My view is that mass shooting number 351 is as bad as the earlier 350 (kill count obviously causing more or less devastation). If the first 350 bring up questions of mental health, availability of weaponry, upbringing, religion, politics, workplace relations etc, then shooting number 351 should raise the same questions too. I don't agree with blaming the individuals that perpetrate 350 mass shootings, whatever their religion, family, private situation.... but then blaming the entire social group that the 351st killer belonged to for their rampage.
-
Love how much I get told I'm misrepresenting people but there's no qualms about making up shit about me excusing mass shootings.
-
As terrifying as the 350+ other mass shootings perpetrated this year by non-muslims.

Bazinga I like the odd science joke on there when they don't sign post it. Always makes me laugh more when Mrs HF has no idea what I'm laughing at. Annoying when they spend 3 minutes explaining a theory to wring an unfunny joke out of it though. -
