19 christing pages! The 9/11 thread didn't reach that, and that was the defining moment of the century.

Ian Woan. At any point prior to 2 May 1996.

Badly Drawn Boy - Delta (little Boy Blues) That's some foot tappingly cheery stuff.

Sounds like he didn't have the time to personally overhaul the company from top to bottom himself, but now that it's done he's happy to have a part in keeping things ticking over.

I know it's a good cause and i applaud your effort, but I can't help but think that if this does build up a head of steam it would put the club in an invidious position. If they refuse it's a slap in the face. If they accept it's a commitment to playing a fair sized club every year for little reward. Ipswich don't particularly benefit from a Newcastle visit like the lower league teams we'd normally visit, and Ipswich wouldn't draw a crowd to St James' like the European giants we normally invite over. I know it's not about benefitting the club, but I think the first team squad shouldn't be playing regular charity games.

He has to be also to prosper. As soon as the team switches off, or starts getting dominated he disappears. Messi for me. same, people will obviously argue ronaldos goal's make him better but as a winger he almost never creates anything for anyone else, his messi gets himself in the positions but passes instead of hammering it at the keeper To be fair, there's only two Man U players who've provided more assists this year. who? Rooney and Nani Nani? really? would not have guessed at that one See the A column... http://fantasy.premierleague.com/M/stats.m...lter=&view=

Gone according to talkSPORT (just a tiny, passing comment) There are only 60 minutes in an hour and 59 of those have to be about the greatest game of the century.

Well the likes of Smith, Cacapa and Enrique all had a bit of CL experience didn't they? He alone is enough to change the policy I suppose.

http://icnewcastle.icnetwork.co.uk/newcast...-name_page.html You'd have thought the article would mention he was a short term appointment if that was the case. I also find the bold quote interesting. Who changed Ashley & Mort's thinking on the kind of signings they want from being proven champions league first teamers to being unproven youngsters with potential?
-
I can't find anything that said that at the time, and I wasn't under that impression. Certainly wasn't mentioned on the official club announcement. Though Wiki does reference him as Newcastle's "stand in chairman" on Ashley's page.

I dreamed I was taking a shit and the whole office were in there with me. It was a geet runny one and I was embarrassed to wipe my arse.

I couldn't believe the Times this morning "Man u win match of the century" or something. There's hyperbole, then there's the UK media's reaction to a one all draw that didn't have a shot for 25 minutes and was decided on penalties.

Come on, the lad's a genius. Far prefer to see his skill rewarded than Chelsea's whining. I WANT HIM TO DIE! Not really but if I see him wink one more time I think I'm going to rub the twat out. I think Englishmen hated Maradonna like that for a few years following '86. But most will admit he deserves every medal he ever won. Not saying he's been that good yet, but he's clearly going to be the best for a generation. I assume you're talking about Messi. I actually wrote "he's neck and neck for best of a generation" but deleted it. I think they're neck and neck for honours now. Given that Messi has 2 years on him you're probably right. Though I don't think Messi has scored 42 in a season.

10 minutes after winning the champions league 25,000 Man U fans are live on ITV news in virtual silence. Shit fans.

Ooh. Regina Spektor used for the post match video compilation. Nice.
