If we spend £25M on 2 players (like we were trying to on Woodgate and Modric in January), would that be considered exciting? I'd say it was, and I can definitely see it happening.

I thought you might say that about PDL which was pretty much why I stuck it in Multiregion is no problem so I'll take Mr Vengance but don't bother with the other two as it will just spoil it for me amd I haven't seen them before. Akira - box set but £2 will do as it's not that expensive in shops. These are all bought from Hong Kong (ie multiu region player needed) and so have dodgy subs ("suspectious" rather than "suspiscious" for example) Sympathy For Mr Vengence Sanjuro - Has no English subs at all.. Ikiru The 2 Kurosawa ones are pretty poor image and sound quality too (as are all the Kurosawa films listed apart from Ran). If you want the 2 with subs for £1 each, you can have the one without for nowt . Toy Story - Box Set currently goes for £35, I'd really want a tenner at least. This "lack of end product" malarky sounds too like a self-fulfilling prophecy. Perfect players are very rare. I wouldn't mind someone like Lennon who might disappoint with his end product often enough, but who can make up for it with other attributes. He'll generally unsettle defences with his pace and win freekicks with his dribblings that only can get stopped by foul. Yep. Bellamy and Dyer (at his best) had no end product at all, but their pace scared the shit out of defences and made a lot of space for Shearer. Owen would benefit from those kinds of clever runs from the likes of Lennon.

They're just collecting dust and could be paying for an HD projector. If people pay £10 for a month of lovefilm they only get 3 or 4 DVD's which they have to send back. Everybody's happy. Emanuelle 3 is class by the way. She goes to the jungle and has it off with the tarzan types. I'll be adding more soon, I haven't kept the list up to date previously.

They're similar types of player with the main difference being Dyer was more comfortable in the middle and Lennon is better as a wide man. And despite Dyer never living up to his early hype he played in some good Toon sides and we were generally a better team when he played. Lennon might give us that extra dimension which Dyer did on many occasions. The other difference is you can't imagine Dyer taking a pay cut to guarantee a move like Lennon did going to Spurs.

They start off by saying that the press are reporting that we're looking to cut wages and then go on to say that in the past we've given big money to mediocre players and 'trophy signings' and then finish with the fact that we need new players in. Not the best written or most insightful piece in the world but what they say is true. I agree it's true. But they end by saying we need loads of players, they can't have both clearly. For me it is imperative we compete in the market and take the financial pain now for the 2/3 first teamers that would make a difference. The cost cutting which looks to have started well won't show real benefits for a couple of years...There is no way we can tread water for that long. I don't see for a second why you can't have both. For every player we bring in on a good value £50k, there are 2 in the squad (or recently sold) who were grossly overvalued in receiving that much cash.
