Anomalisa I normally love Charlie Kaufman and as this has been so well received I was really looking forward to it. I expected it to get really weird given the choice to animate it, but aaprt from a dream sequence it's a very straightforward midlife crisis story for a married fella. Underwhelmed but it is canny.

Taped it off film 4 over christmas. Came downstairs with the baby at 1am and thought i'd put it on for ten minutes till he settled. Ended up watching all 2 hours. Thought it was brilliant. Was sad to see so many negative comments on here when I searched. Happy to find this one solitary endorsement. Agree about the beach, especially watching it holding a baby Watched The Road this afternoon. Average.

Birdman Didn't get it. Haven't really loved any of his films since amores Peres which makes me wonder if I'll enjoy the revenant. Citizenfour Not as gripping as I thought it might be. Was interesting to see what went on in the room and I was impressed by how calm they all were about it, but I may have read too much of the leak details over the last few years. Undoubtedly I would have been hooked if the film came out the week Snowden appeared.

The Hateful Eight Easily Tarantino's best film since Kill Bill Vol 1. Never bored across it's 3 hour running length. Only mis-step for me was his 2 short, pointless voice overs. The pictures could say what he did no bother. The only time Tarantino hasn't been a negative in his own film was in Pulp Fiction.

No. Not at all. If I'd taken my bairn to his first game on Saturday and he'd seen us defend for our lives for half an hour then an end to end game where our keeper made all the better saves and we only hit the target once but the opposition only won it in the 93rd minute, then he would probably not complain about a closer game than it looked like being in the beginning and no other context would come into it. Anyone who's been going for just 2 years, not a soopafan of any kind, will recognise that we're still worsening, that we still apparently need players in EVERY position bar RB and in goal. That we have little plan other than to try to cope with whatever it is the opposition choose to do, home or away. That the parade of managers who have failed at multiple lower league clubs working under the teaboy aren't going to command the respect and hard efforts of the internationals that make up our squad, which is the 7th highest paid in the league, despite what many say about lack of quality.

That's true. If Saturday was your first ever game as a Newcastle supporter than I could see why you wouldn't be that annoyed.

Everton finished last season with 8 more points than us and 4 places above us. Lamentable that it's now a foregone conclusion that they are going to beat us at home and we have to sit back for a third of the game without getting the ball in their box. But that's ashley's fault, and we all hate him for it. Even worse though, that we aren't allowed to say what a travesty that is without fellow supporters having a pop and defending it as some sort of blip in our upward trajectory, rather than the continuation of our ongoing fall from grace that it is.

We're 10 points worse off than last seasons corresponding fixtures and 6 points off our 18 game total. Whether anyone hoped for us to be better, no-one should be shrugging their shoulders at being even shitter.
