  1. Phew. I thought it was going to be Bob Dylan. I'd have ended up on the floor in the fetal position.
  2. MONDAY 11TH AUGUST SILENT LIGHT 11.30pm Film4 Some say it's a masterpiece (it won the Jury prize at Cannes), others say it's dull as DannyB. Everyone agrees, the opening shot is phenomenal, I'll be watching for that alone. LOL 2.05am Film4 I don't want to recommend it. I've never heard of it. What a shite name though. THURSDAY 14TH AUGUST TALK RADIO 10.55pm Five US Early Oliver Stone film about an obnoxious talk radio host who has an on air breakdown. FRIDAY 15TH AUGUST THE ROAD TO GUANTANAMO 10pm More4 Michael Winterbottom tells the story of them British kids who went on holiday to Pakistan and ended up in Guantanamo.
  3. I think we'd have pushed for Europe. Allardyce threw away 15 points that should have been in the bag... Boro (a) 2 Derby (a) 3 Reading (a) 3 Mackems (a) 2 Derby (h) 2 Wigan (a) 3 He sent out a team to play for a draw in all of those. Those points would have had us 7th
  4. We're on the verge of adding our fourth summer signing though. And a £10M defensive record breaker to boot. Further acquisitions are needed as everyone at the club agrees (and have promised they'll arrive). Do you complain bitterly about your shit christmas presents throughout November? I already think he's running the club as he intends to continue. The only thing that will change is the class of player we can attract if Keegan can get us moving up the table. Do you think the squad played to their potential last year?
  5. makes me smile too ......... Has anyone done the sums on his estimated balance sheet since arriving? EDIT: Using a mixture of ball park estimates and the averages from NUFC-Finances.org.uk I reckon.... Outgoings Buy price 130M Debt 30M Wages 60M Players in 30M Other expenses (match related) 15M Total 265M Incomings TV 20M Players Out 16M Commercial 20M Gates 30M Total 86M Which has him 179M down. Sitting pretty on a lovely little investment though. Happy to bow to wiser heads and add/remove/change amounts though The club is valued at £240m that's all you need to know. Unless our performance on the park changes drastically he won't find anyone to pay substantially over that price. Why are you perpetuating the notion that Ashley should run the club as a charity? Almost a fifth of his total wealth is wrapped up in the club at the moment. If he does sell up, so fuck. Someone else will get all the grief. As it stands he's taking a LOT LOT less out of the club than the previous owners did while spending more. If the Coloccini deal happens that's 2 years running that transfer spending (including income) has exceeded £10M. A phenomenon that only occurred 3 times out of the previous 9 years at the club. http://www.nufc-finances.org.uk/transfers2.htm Charidee? Why charidee? You have a problem with him not spending more right? It doesn't make sense on or off the pitch to start spending astronomical money until we're an attractive proposition to the best players. whats the difference between spending money now and in 2 years time [by which time Keegan may be gone] do you think Newcastle are a shitty little club like Blackburn, or the smoggies, for instance, that can't do it, or do you like us being run like Blackburn, smoggies etc You seriously think Newcastle aren't seen as a big club by footballers inside the game don't you ? Laughable. [well, they were up until a year ago anyway.........] You said it yourself, is it really laughable? The difference between spending now and what I'd envisage in 2 years is the difference between players that are only good enough to get us into Europe, and players that will help us challenge once we're there.
  6. First choice striker 08/09 and no mistake.
  7. They look fucking massive, all of them waits of short arse wise craics The Germans had an aryan look. They could do a Nazi interrogation on me any day of the week and no mistake.

We have this chat every couple of months innit Nicos. We're doing alright man....I just get a bit frustrated sometimes. And we'll keep having them until you stop the little digs.

  10. Got Srnicek 23 on my keeper kit. Was tempted to get Bassong 46 "Forty Six 46" would be better.
  11. Georgia or Russia? Both? Neither tbh. As a wooly liberal I was satirising foreign policy in the west. The U.S. and UK only attacks when there is sketchy or no evidence of WMD's. FYP

  13. Have they got much oil?
  14. Love it when the synchronised high diving women kiss each other in the pool.
  15. Saw a lad with Geremi on his purple top yesterday. I don't think he was related.
  16. a witless retort tedious wank What a suprise. Neither of you at the game, witness to the booing, Newcastle fans, any judge of Smith's relationship with the fans.
  17. Richard Herring has got me calling any pleasant individual with misguided ideas a "fucking idiot", I recommend you listen to his podcast, it's funny as fook. http://cdn4.libsyn.com/britishcomedyguide/...c49145fdbf2b3dd
  18. I know that's another post that's not aimed at me, but just to stick my oar in as the thread starter, my problem is NEVER what other fans/media think of us. Just the relationship between player and fans. Supporting Smith and Barton keeps that bond strong for the benefit of the club. Anyone else can lick my hairy arse. Once again i cant argue with you there as the only reason i said this is because Dr whatever his name is said as his main reason for people not booing smith is that it makes us look like cunts. There's that too. I don't see how not booing two players could make us look like cuntish supporters. Im not on about booing barton. What i meant is alot of people though he should have been sacked, but we decided not to and he has been given our support. Are these people Newcastle supporters? I've personally not heard from one that thinks we should get rid. Of course our detractors/opponents want us to drop him. It would only serve to weaken us. When barton came out of prison there were alot of interviews with fans and lots of people had wrote into the news saying barton should have been sacked because they believe that if the same thing had happened to anyone else in any other job they would have been sacked on the spot and not paid 50 grand a week to go to prison. (this was on the proper news aswel, not SSN) If they were Newcastle fans they would have been the same fucking idiots that booed Smith today. didnt think idiots would watch the news Everyone watches the news. Fucking idiots don't question the news.

  20. I don't think the general public hold the fans of NUFC responsible for Joey Bartons behaviour. They might think he's a nasty piece of work but that's not our fault. I'm bothered about what NUFC players (and prospective players) think about being booed by their own. And you can call me Kenny if you like Well i have to disagree with you if the reason for you being against people booing smith is because of what other people think of us because you shouldnt care about what other people think about us as our supporters are some of the best in the country, (maybe even the best), so what other clubs fan think about us shouldnt bother you. i don't think he's worried about fans, just prospective players.

  22. Watched Dr Strangelove in bed last night. Clearly the cleverest comedy ever made.
