Goodbye Lenin More film references than Tarantino has managed in a career. Despite the lack of originality I did enjoy it, as I do Tarantino's work. The La Dolce Vita bit with the chopper carrying a Lenin statue in particular was brilliantly done. -

£20bn it cost them to host. I've not looked into it, but I think for that price they could have developed hover bikes. I propose a ribbon gets cut before the first event in 2012 and every UK resident gets sent a £300 cheque.

A film for every day... SUNDAY 24TH AUGUST THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY 10pm five I think 2J has mentioned he likes this before. Fifth best film ever on IMDB. MONDAY 25TH AUGUST WALK THE LINE 9pm Film4 Johnny Cash biopic. Well played Joaquin. TUESDAY 26TH AUGUST CITY OF GOD 11.25pm Film4 Everybody's favourite gangster film set in the Rio slums. WEDNESDAY 27TH AUGUST REQUIEM 10pm BBC4 A film to highlight the differences between Hollywood and Europe. Where the Americans made The Exorcism of Emily Rose, the Germans took the same (based on fact) story and made this dark 1970s period film. THURSDAY 28TH AUGUST THIS IS SPINAL TAP 1.40am ITV1 The rise and fall, and fall, and fall, and rise of a rock band. In the 24 years since, there hasn't been a funnier film. FRIDAY 29TH AUGUST FAR FROM HEAVEN 9pm More4 Haven't seen it and will be taping it. 4 times Oscar nominated story of 50s small mindedness following a gay man and his wife's attempts to get past his 'illness'. At the same time the wife finds solace with their black gardener, much to the disgust of the neighbours.

He missed one competitive game picking up that tally. It came at the end of a string of 18 games. He had a nightmare first 2 years, but he was player of the season last year if you ask me.

I agree. I think Owen is the best player to wear an England shirt since Gazza. For i rate owen, i think ur statement is a BIG one! I know its all about opinions but thats just stupidity man! It's between him and Beckham like. EDIT: And Shearer. EDIT: And Scholes.

Unfortunately if the rest of it is as reliable as that bit, then I've just heard we're about to sign Allah. “I will appear personally at the hearing if required. Definitely,” said Keegan. "ready to stake his reputation - and defy angry fans" 1. I can't see how Keegan's reputation is in any way staked upon whatever happens to Barton, never mind just be backing him like he always said he would. 2. I can't see how he's defying angry fans (apart from the couple the media has on standby for all occasions) by doing what he always said he would do. Totally agree on point 1. Surely his reputation stands on sticking to his word of supporting Barton as long as he behaves under his management. What kind of man would he be to go back on that? On point 2. He says himself that he's had letters.

Radio 5 just said England get 8 minutes at the closing show. Apparently it will include a red bus and a privet.

http://www.sundaysun.co.uk/sport/newcastle...79310-21593884/ JAVIER SAVIOLA has dropped a hint that he will move to Newcastle – if Real Madrid don’t want to keep him, but Newcastle are considering making a big-money move for Chelsea star Florent Malouda. Saviola last night hinted he would be willing to join United on loan, but the Sunday Sun understands the Magpies have approached Chelsea regarding a possible £10 million deal for 28-year-old Malouda. In response, Chelsea will only consider parting with former Lyon winger Malouda once they have confirmed the signing of Saviola’s Real Madrid team-mate Robinho. Newcastle’s need for more new signings is ever more apparent after injuries to Obafemi Martins and Damien Duff in yesterday’s 1-0 victory over Bolton. United are also eyeing Wigan’s Antonio Valencia as an alternative to Malouda, along with Sparta Prague left-back Michal Kadlec. Meanwhile, United boss Kevin Keegan is ready to stake his reputation - and defy angry fans - by making a personal show of support for Joey Barton at the disgraced midfielder’s FA disciplinary hearing on September 5 . . . Amid fears that Barton, following his imprisonment for assault and affray, could be suspended from football until next year. “I will appear personally at the hearing if required. Definitely,” said Keegan. “As long as he (Barton) doesn’t let me or this club down again he has 100 per cent support from me.” Keegan added: “I know a lot of people don’t agree with me. I have had lots of letters. But if you support someone you support them. I don’t think it is brave. It is what I think is right.”

"Team GB" is bad enough (enjoyed Stelling's rant about it yesterday). But they're calling the Union Jack the "Team GB Flag" now.

Haven't we received insurance payments when he's been injured? Only 4 players managed more games than Owen last season. He's now on 8 goals in his last 10 games. You don't think thats the kind of quality we should gladly pay through the nose for, rather than shite like Smith and Ameobi?

Triggy = Spoony In Taylors defence, he kept his shirt on and wasn't the last off the pitch. Keep it up.
