  1. A transfer value cap on international imports might be the way to go. Would lower the quality of our league, but improve our international team in my opinion. If some wealthy arabs want to pump £130M into the English game from one signing I don't see that as a bad thing though. As long as the money stays in our game. To that end, perhaps they should apply a tax to every transfer made by a premier league team where 5 or 10 percent of the fee goes directly to lower league and grass roots football.
  2. Whey they should put a bit more practice in.
  3. Spend on 1 player what our entire club was sold for just over a year ago.
  4. Strange we're having a night out in Lahndan. We're all coming dressed as Curbishley...go out for the night and then f**k off 1/2 way through...... In all seriousness from an outsiders point of view, it looks like a shambles what's going on down there.....You could see it was going to happen the minute they sold McCartney....still what do Geordie fans know....our club is as f**ked as yours at the moment! Cheers
  5. Clearly seen what happened up here and expects the happy hammers to save his skin.
  6. :elvis: I was particularly proud of "I may not have Walcott to give but El Hadj Diouf I'll give to you"

  9. Pfff. I was giving Mort kudos on page 7 man. Old news.
  10. Loaded statements from you there HP? You do KK a great disservice. Just trying to look at it from Ashley's point of view. The bloke does have a fifth of his wealth tied up in the club. You do love your billionaires. All part of the healing process my friend. People have to be behind Ashley as well as Keegan to get past these problems.
  11. Three and a half year deal at the time, my bad.
  12. Loaded statements from you there HP? You do KK a great disservice. Just trying to look at it from Ashley's point of view. The bloke does have a fifth of his wealth tied up in the club. one whole fifth wow...shows he is really commited 8 times more than Abramovich has risked.
  13. I don't know. I thought it was 3 seasons including last. Was it 3 seasons after last?

  15. Taking Devil's advocate to the extremes there like! Valid point though.
  16. By the way, after this season doesn't Keegan only have one more year on a contract he's said he won't be extending even if he does stay? Of the two, Ashley is the one with the (apparent) long term commitment to the club, should he really bow to Keegans every whim on player recruitment when he'll be gone in 2 years guaranteed? Ashley can only assume that Keegan is looking for a short term fix and will leave the club with a squad of expensive old men who he can get no value back from.
  17. Noel Gallacher was loving it on 5 Live. Along the lines of "Every time a Man U fan fills up his tank, he'll be paying a city players wages"
  18. Blame it all on the media and let's get on with it. An official club statement would be enough, endorsed by Keegan expressing and their dismay at the constant barrage of negative media attention aimed at the club and it's staff. Sugarcoat it as the club doing nothing but tweaking the management structure internally but leading to the most egregious case of wild and unsubstantiated claim and counter claim coming from uninformed parties. It's the latest in a long list and has caused a lot of fans a not insignificant amount of undue concern which should be laid squarely at the door of Rupert Murdoch and Biffa from .com.
  19. Just an everyday workplace argument that Skysports have whipped up into a firestorm. I was with Tom from the start. Never even concerned. Had to laugh when the BBC said this morning "Yesterday we were told that Keegan had been sacked, but later on a club statement saw the club perform a U-turn when they stated categorically that he had not". Well who the fuck told you he had in the first place because it wasn't the club. Twats.
  20. I'd imagine Keegan was told that we were still chasing players on his list which he then found out not to be true, this coupled with the fact that it appears they tried to sell players behind his back must have been too much. If he had've walked after the Modric deal fell through then I would've been even more disappointed that he didn't at least try to make a proper go of it. Which leads me to think he's hung around for personal/financial reasons. His head has been able to rule his heart...until this week. When has Keegan ever tried to make a go of it without things being set up exactly as he wanted? Once, for England, and look where that got him.
  21. The Keegan veneration is getting silly like. The bloke's walked out on us after 8 months. And he's decided to wait and martyr himself on the last day of the transfer window rather than months ago when he was (allegedly) seething at the club letting Modric go. Hope he stays, but at least question what's gone on rather than assuming Wise ordered him to suck his cock and enjoy it.
  22. He tried to make the best of a difficult situation is my guess and his optimism that he could slowly get through to the jackals was probably misplaced, either way I'm backing him. Me too. With the lack of funds the club are willing to throw at the situation, there's only Keegan could motivate our pretty average rabble to reach for the stars. And if/when he does come back, every one of those players would eat a milkshake of Keegans shit to play for him after seeing how he'll stand up for his players.
  23. Clearly Keegan has towed the party line since his arrival, publicly at least. He's pushed the boundaries a few times with the club (The Modric thing from Alex's ITK, "I don't speak to the owner" etc.) and they've been quick to remind him how they'll be running things, and Keegan has retreated to lick his wounds. Would the Keegan of old stood for it? He resigned after a couple of weeks first time around. For him to put up with things if he was unhappy, suggests he's the one that's reacted over emotionally in the last few days and might be wondering if he's gone a bit far.
