If they go down that option i think there will be mutiny no matter what they do. Even the arrival of Mourinho probably won't mask the bitter discontent among the fans. If we look at it subjectively, the sacking of Big Sam was dodgy - nothing was really said about it though because 1) in general he wasn't well liked and 2) they replaced him with Keegan. They pulled the ultimate master-stroke 8 months ago in appeasing the fans by re-appointing the Messiah - quite how they managed to persuade him to come out of retirement deserves praise as it is! If he leaves however, they've played the ultimate faux pas and I don't think it matters what they do to try and patch it up, the fans will never be on-side with them again. He literally does have them by the balls and I pray to fucking god they don't play arrogant. Mind, they might have got away with it after, say, Liverpool away last year. Is it cynical to think Keegan waited to make his point until expectations were highest among fans for maximum solidarity from them?

I'm frightened. I'm pinning all my hopes on the fact that Ashley has always said this in an investment he wants to enjoy. Who knows if that was bollocks because we've heard a lot of that, BUT given he watches with the fans, gets pissed up and has taken a back seat I'm almost convinced it is the case. The one thing you can bank on is if Keegan goes, it'll be an impossibility to enjoy the investment anymore. Hopefully Keegan gets everything he wants and the future is bright.

I like Danny. He's an eternal optimist. All that talk of how much better they'd done during the window, how they were a draw for better players and how they were moving up. The trophies they won pre-season, the goals they were scoring for fun. He's not shown a hint of embarrassment at their complete failure to live up to his and all their fans' expectations. And it's to his credit. Don't ever develop a sense of self-awareness Danny. All his ITK stuff was spot on though. I remember he said Berbatov was as good as signed for Newcastle.
