  1. People that hate Ashley for his lack of investment in the first 3 years (when he bought us for £130m+ pumped in £110m of debt recovery and then another £30m to cover costs) but won't blame him on investment the past year when he's not put a penny in are something of a contradiction.
  2. Scored as many equalisers in the last 2 games as we previously had since the opening day of the season - league and cup (3). Shame what fight we're mustering is going to fall short.
  3. Said when Rafa arrived we have to play attacking football as it'll be our best form of defense. We haven't got the players at the back to play counter attack without conceding a lot. The team announced for the mackems gave me hope benitez agreed. The performance showed we don't have the players for pressing opponents either unfortunately
  4. Like rose west applying for a childminder job.
  5. Chester zoo in July. Probably staying in Wales and coming back via the lakes. Doing my bit for the British economy. Anyone spending a penny abroad should have their passport revoked. Pure scum.
  6. Good idea. People need to include photos mind. All morning I've been thinking Tim Healy's ex was brown bread. Wife just told me that's Denise Welch.
  7. Stewart Lee pretending to be Rod Liddle eating popadoms for 10 minutes.
  8. What would frustrate me if it happened would be the "told you so" angle that Ashley and co would take and the pundits would repeat ad nauseum. Villa have out-performed Newcastle at growing every revenue stream since Ashley came in... Overall they've improved their income by £37m more every season than we have. But Newcastle have become profitable, while their losses only grow.... It's gone from us losing 4 times as much as them, to us turning a profit while they have lost an average £43m every year for the past 7 years. Which is built on controlling costs. Our wage bill is up £18m, Villa £60m. Our other costs are static at £24m, Villa's have double to over £30m. Which all makes a compelling case for the prudence we've shown the past decade. But ignores what we have wasted misdirecting the funds we do have and the failure to maximise what we could extract from our "commercial partners"
  9. Aw, how sad. Heard on Monday that garry shandling had died on Friday too TT death threads are slipping
  10. As a left winger he was told he was surplus to requirements as the club had brought in a centre midfielder (Anita) and a forward (Gouffran). Pardew that.
  11. Was Darlow the one who got a game or two and looked like an actor rehearsing for the role of a goalkeeper? Not looking forward to this.
  12. According to the Global Terrorism Database, fewer and fewer terrorist attacks have targeted airplanes and airports. When I ran my findings by Erin Miller, program manager at the Global Terrorism Database, she confirmed that it was fair to compare transportation targets in North America and Europe this way. The trend in attacks on transportation targets generally reflects the trend in all kinds of terrorist attacks, she added, which she said suggested that its more the result of decline of conflicts than increased security. Attacks on any form of transportation are a small share of all terrorist attacks (these targets accounted for only 4 percent of all attacks in Western Europe and North America from 2002 through 2014). However, such attacks were disproportionately deadly. Terrorism directed at all forms of transportation (airports included) from 2002 through 2014 claimed nearly as many lives as attacks on the top four most frequent targets put together (private citizens or property, businesses, governments and police). In this time period, 252 people were killed as a result of attacks on all forms of transportation, and 265 were killed by attacks on those four targets combined. There are fewer transportation hubs than private businesses, but theyre more crowded spaces. http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/attacks-on-transportation-targets-like-those-in-brussels-have-become-rarer/
  13. Sorry, bugbear of mine to see shadows of photographers in photos. Second only to videos taken in portrait. Why would anyone not take the microsecond it needs to avoid such things? Kubrick put the helicopter shadow in the start of The Shining mind. So he's got your back.
  14. Head, shoulders, knees and toes Knees and toes
  15. Or everyone on toontastic can watch a live match together in a virtual pub.
  16. I got Google cardboard for £4 or something. It's a fun novelty at that price and the kid loves it. I enjoy taking 360 photos and then watching my disabled family members who can't get out much/far transported to the places i photograph. I like the home theatre that presents my photos and videos as massive framed pictures in a library I can select to watch on a big screen. Also enjoy watching VR content from bands, films, podcasts I already like. Run the jewels, tiny desk concerts and star wars have all done stuff I have wanted to watch in vr, not just on a TV screen. As with the internet, mobiles and vhs I guess gaming and porn will only be the starting point before it goes mainstream for people not particularly interested in either. It'll be the Facebook vr app (or better designed equivalent) or that new Nintendo Wii mii app that catches fire and pushes the masses towards vr.
  17. We got 2 points from the remiaining fixtures last season. If Benny cannot better that then we're fucked. If he can better it, we're still more likely than not fucked. If he can better it to a good degree and the Mackems and Norwich and/or Palace can fail to pick up many points at all we have a chance.
  18. Paul Mason was lavishing Corbyn with praise for how he's handled the Tory cuts https://medium.com/mosquito-ridge/scratch-one-tory-1efdada64080#.lo7mby6kt
  19. http://13steps.co/2016/03/27/analysis-pochettino-tottenham-counterpress/ Good read on how Poccetino turned Spurs into title challengers. Note that Townsend didn't fit the hardworking culture he's cultivated.
  20. The derby was great for the first ten minutes (nowt like a lot of previous derbies, but best atmosphere of the season) but it was worrying how quickly the support wilted. Particularly after the goal. That's what Ashley gets for chasing off a lot of dedicated fans and filling the place with kids paying £2 a game like. If the players had given anything worth cheering in the first half they could have garnered further support, as it was, Benitez spent the week making a big deal about fans being the 12th man and all that, but when the fans cranked it up the players looked like 2 fucks could not be given. For them to sort that out rather than fans being consistently let down when they show.
