The bold bits are bullshit misrepresentations from a hack journalist. The red bit is astonishing, "perceived"? Is she suggesting they've done a good job of running the place? -

It is. It's too confusing to know where to start. Do I need to watch the original series? The mini series? The 4 recent series? The TV Movies? The Webisodes?

that's the film they go and see in Annie Hall isn't it? Aye. I put that on after. "Boy, those guys in the French Resistance were really brave, you know? Got to listen to Maurice Chevalier sing so much." -
Dexter? Not watched it. Serial Killer show, right? There seems to be a pattern with me of REALLY enjoying the contemporary "real life" dramas (the 3 listed), but getting a bit bored sooner or later by the more fantastic shows (the others that don't come close).

The 3 Pillars of quality US TV The Sopranos The West Wing The Wire As much as I've enjoyed parts of 24, Heroes, Rome and that, nothing has come close to those three. Battlestar Gallactica is supposed to be up there with them like, but I've not seen it.

The Sorrow and the Pity Classic documentary focused on the French town of Claremont before, during and following Nazi occupation. Citizens explain their actions from all sides whether actively involved with the resistance, informing on the resistance or doing nothing. The young Frenchman who (like thousands of others) went so far as to join the SS is particularly frank. Made in 1968 it wasn't shown on French TV until 1981, amazing really that they were still trying to sweep under the carpet what went on until 35 years later. Available for under £6 too, excellent value for 4 hours... http://www.sendit.com/sendit/93147.product -
