To be unfair Parky's only interest in the club is as a tv soap opera. Tbf to me I make phone calls nearly every day on behalf of NUSC, one of which resulted in the Telegraph article. This is off my own back and at my own expense. I think there are always going to be differences in the beginning but over time we will have a good organisation which we can all be proud of I have no doubts. Well if someone so integral didn't know the thing was open for membership what hope does it have? I'm not integral to anything. I do stuff off my own back. The commitee have clearly lost control already.

That's an interesting take, but as the NUSC seems primarily concerned with Ashley leaving at all costs I doubt they will be prepared to even contemplate entering a debate with Ashley's people. Parky's attutude of "fuck the club" in the short term is a good example of this thinking. It's a recipe for relegation if you ask me. If the club isn't sold, in my view it would be constructive for the NUSC to open a sensible dialogue with the current owners. If only to air complaints. Weren't the original statements that the NUSC was being set up as a long term voice of the fans rather than a petulant knee-jerk against those in power. If those currently in power end up here long term, is the intention to tear the club apart? EDIT: Sorry, I realise I just agreed and repeated there.
-
Oh dear. I was hoping the NUSC would be a more moderate group with the best interests of the club at heart however that benefits any individual or not. They show a willingness for discourse with any potential buyers (are they aware of the non-disclosure agreements - I don't see how that would work, are the commitee just trying to get the timewasters more coverage?) but not with Ashley. If the club is not sold, are we as fans going to punish the whole club for our personal grievances, or are we going to try and make the best of it and approach whoever is in power with constructive ideas for moving forward?

The Red Balloon French short (35 minutes) about a boy who finds a balloon that seems to have free will. It won shit loads of awards in 1956 and has just come out on DVD to lots of fanfare. It is a hugely impressive film, with no exposition. It flew by and I hate to say it, but the way the balloon is brought to life without your modern CGI is amazing. It's a bit saccharine, even though I was in bits when the catapults came out, I still felt manipulated. A friend of mine told me they'd seen it when they were five or something and have loved it ever since, and I can see why it would appeal most to kids like that. -
The funniest part was they voted against $700B and then for $850B a few days later. Especially considering "Regarding the $700 billion number, Forbes.com quoted a Treasury spokeswoman: "It's not based on any particular data point. We just wanted to choose a really large number."

Funny you should say that because I was amazed at the amount of 9/11 type imagery it has. Zod was clearly a prediction of Bin Laden to come. Look at the twin towers burn on the movie poster. The masters are from the future. I tell you, it's frightening, Richard Donner (and/or Richard Lester) is like Nostradamus or something. You've got the burning twin towers on all the promotional material, it starts with terrorists that have got hold of a nuclear bomb trying to set it off on the eiffel tower.....that needs Superman (Team America World Police) to come and sort it out. Then there's the bad guys attacking Russians AND Americans on the moon (Afghanistan). The president is completely impotent and leaves all policy in fighting the terrorists to someone else. The US military are deployed inside the USA. Visionary. -
Have you met anyone who feels / claims they have encountered their own miracle? Not personally, but there have been something like 60-odd "cures" that have been verified as unexplainable in medical science over the years in people who have been there. I am in no way a believer in any of that kind of thing however I do know of a lass who worked in M&S who had a son with really really bad eczema, not the irritation level but full blown, life in a bubble type stuff. They went everywhere, all the top hospitals etc and nothing before finally desperate they went to Lourdes, not sure what they did while there but literally a couple of weeks later the kid was almost cured. "Approximately thirty percent of infants will develop eczema. Luckily, many will outgrow it by the time they reach three to five years of age. " http://www.articlestree.com/fitness/is-it-...a-tx254564.html Kid would probably have enjoyed Euro Disney more too.

Makes you wonder, you want to ridicule but....... Say what you think Bobster, it's all in the heed isn't it?

Can't wait to get home. Got the new Bob Dylan, Kings of Leon, Mercury Rev, Murs and Roots Manuva to listen to. Pity I'm rained in at the moment.

I gave him too much credit. But then I'm Happy Face.

I'm guessing it's the part that gets to spend the £6M pay-off?

I'm not going to start agreeing with Sam Allardyce the huge headed twat just because hindsight has proven Ashley and some of his staff to be liars. He was happy enough to stay at the club...or he shouldn't have received a pay-off. Prior to the most recent window closing I was happy chasing good bargains (Beye, Guttierez, Guthrie) and getting rid of expensive flops (Parker, Dyer, Luque, Emre). A system that seemed to break down when we sold one of the best value young players in the squad (for an excellent price admittedly) and had nothing whatsoever set up for replacing him or bringing in the several other faces needed to fill out a squad of youngsters...which the manager had consistently warned about. I was far less happy with the crazy wages thrown at crocks (Smith, Viduka, Geremi) and robbers (Barton) by Allardyce, but then Allardyce had no-one above him telling him who to buy and who not to so he was entirely to blame when his squad didn't perform.

Just read the whole story and you missed out the juciest bits....

Clearly preparing for a military coup when the election doesn't go how the money men want it to.

Elbow - Seldom Seen Kid I ignored all the hype because I've heard it all before about their previous albums and never been hooked, apart from Ribcage. But I've finally given it a whirl and can tell instantly from my first listen I'm going to love this for a long time.
