Watched this week's Peter Kay and Michael McIntyre so I've been reminded of lots of things I've noticed before.

By Appearance, Kirk Douglas should have been dead 15 years ago, but he's still shuffling about like an animated corpse.

There's no note in the accounts about why it's changed.

Had a pint of Cumberland in the grey hen in south shields and it tasted like slops, so I took it back and watched her pour another one. That was minging too, so I asked for a Guinness instead. Vile. Don't think they could have don't their pipes this month. No wonder there was only 6 people in when they had the football on live.

Remember Prince's wardrobe on the smell of Reeves and Mortimer? It was almost too wee. Aye, almost too wee.

It's 666 years since the black death of 1350. The number of the beast. Satan walks amongst us again. And he's building his strength with pull ups.

Amazing to me that McNulty can do a hit piece like that on the Everton manager, defending the fans anger, when he wrote this piece on Newcastle defending Pardew against supporter revolt when he ran off to Crystal Palace. He says if Pardew had won a trophy fans wouldn't give him credit, but here Martinez is taking Everton to a semi-final and crediting Everton fans for seeing through it and wanting rid. I don't know if it's xenophobia that leads to undue praise for English managers, or petty hatreds for certain clubs that lead to fans getting judged to a different standard, but either way I don't see how he could defend the contradictions between the two articles. We see it time and again.

The appointment of Benitez was the first sign of any policy shift for me. Had many an argument with people who went on like the extra spending or the board room shuffle signalled anything, which it clearly didn't. The club always spent what it earned, and always had patsies sitting on the board. Unfortunately I have no faith that the Benitez appointment can be any more successful than the Keegan one because Ashley's nature is to be two-faced, sneaky, cheap, ruthless and stubborn. So he'll be misleading Benitez with promises that come to nothing and whether we go down or stay up, Benitez won't hang around through many transfer windows as Ashley refuses to include any add-ons to incentivise selling clubs and we end up with 5 goal keepers and no stiker and that sort of thing.

Delighted to see that it was More or Less that did the research. Wouldn't trust the Daily Mail, but Loyal listeners such as myself trust More or Less as a bastion of statistical rigour. Haven't listened to the latest episode as yet, so my post was independent of their confirmation. It's here if anyone wants to enjoy the latest stats news though... http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b076prgl

Wonder if we're reaching the point where those that were young when celebrity culture took off are only now hitting old age and starting to die in numbers and we'll be getting more and more deaths as we go on. She was born in the 50s where the biggest icons were Muffin the Mule and George Formby and few had TV's to watch them. Then she spent the 60s with the Beatles and became one of many celebrities spewed onto our full colour screens in the 70s to fill a 24/7 demand for content. The number of musicians, tv, & movie stars most have grown enormously in that period. I guess it will only be a brief period though, 4 channel entertainment was short-lived and there's fewer and fewer celebrities that everyone knows spread over exponentially more channels now, all catering to shrinking demographics.

We've earned points after conceding first in a third of games (2/6) under Rafa Only one tenth of games saw us make any recovery previously (3/28)
