  1. Fop will have you believe they plan it that way rather than just being incompetent.
  2. These things used to get on my nerves, nowadays though anyone that's not wearing a dappy hat is alright by me.
  3. It was funny when Mr Hooper threw out the kid from next door all the time. EDIT: or was it cooper? Either way, I'd have a go on his housemate in the Dennis the Menace top.
  4. That covered 10 years, so take out £155M (transfers, Finance and Shareholders), it takes about £50M a year to run the club. Don't we get about £40M a year TV money? No way is he not in hefty profit with his transfer record.
  5. Snap his hand off Mike. We've got Duff!
  6. Stevie, you really are a complete embarrassment to your fellow supporters http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/...ier-League.html survey of 2,708 football fans... wow, that is supposed to back up an argument... 2,708??? Canny sample size if done properly. The fact it's an internet poll renders it useless bollocks though. I'd be more concerned that watching their team on TV is supposed to make them the 'best' fans. You're right, it is a decent sample size, I'm not sure how big your fellow supporters think sample sizes are but they're never generally more than a couple of thousand, as for the watching your team on tv comment, maybe you should reread the article, it says Liverpool are the best supported club and as a side point mentions that they are also the most watched on tv, nothing to do with the point that I was making, finally, there is nothing wrong with internet surveys, it is the 21st century after all! A countrywide survey of 2,708 football fans found that the Merseyside club, currently the league leaders, are also the best watched team on TV. TV seems to be the crux rather than an aside. If you can quote where it says they're the best supported club I'd appreciate it. You won't be able to of course, it's just an advert for a footy on TV website. Internet surveys are prone to fanboy block voting from nerds who've never been to a game in their life. You could go to the 92 grounds and ask people apart from their own team who has the best supporters and you might get a more realistic view from the public at large. I can assure you Liverpool and Man Utd wouldn't come top. I don't know why I'm een dignifying this shit with a response like. Less than one fifth of people there based their support on locality ffs
  7. aaah, they're LAYING. Tip top.
  8. And walk off with 2 years of Sky TV money, gate receipts, advertising and corporate cash stuffing his pockets while leaving a hideous fucking shambles in his wake with an ugly 50ft long Sports Direct sign emblazoned across it. Eh? How do you figure that one out? The only money Ashley will walk away with is the £250m the new people pay him. That money you've mentioned will still be in the club's accounts, not Ashley's. I haven't got a clue to tell the truth. If he's not already used the bulk of that money to cover part of his own investment to pay off the debt, why are the club sitting on it rather than spending it?
  9. That's a result of all the money going on him though. Nowt to do with what's going to happen.

  11. Have to say, I'm over the moon with how things are going. £30 off my mortgage payments. 20% off luxury items. All those pennies less VAT. The only trouble I've got is selling our second property for less than 60% of it's valued price and STILL being worried it's all going to fall through. Never had you down as a two-property type of person HF. And how sanctimonious is Fop btw? Oops, he's being attacked again. I'm greedy, I'm not middle class though

  13. Jaguar's bailout is no more than a £5 sub towards their next vial of crack. Not even a British owned company either.
  14. And you bought EDS, you buggers. They used to be our customer. HP bought us. I used to be your customer.
  15. Thats pants HF man, thats a LOT of poeple going I'm being sensationalist like. 24,600 worldwide. Only 3500 in the UK. Still, 20% of the work force. Thats still a fucking lot man! Our CEO was nearly crying a month ago when we had to lay 30 people of throught the UK! The disappointing thing is we aren't even struggling. In the most recent financial quarter, we saw revenue increase 19% to $33.6 billion, with operating profit up 4% to $2.7 billion. It's all pre-emptive.
  16. You might not think you know much about economics, but that's exactly what the most recent recipient of the nobel prize for economics recommends, another New Deal.. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/11/10/opinion/...ugman.html?_r=1

  18. But companies don't actually want to borrow money either if they have no work coming in. The government can't force that.
  19. 3600 pre christmas voluntary redundancies at wor place, to be followed by 1500 forced redundancies in the new year. Part of a long term plan to lay off 24,600 people. We got our "Happy Christmas" email from the bosses today.
