  1. Anyone been able to get the football on today?
  2. You sound like you're making the situation fit with the same arguments you were making 7 months ago. In that time the Tories have stepped from one disaster to another. Corbyn has had one significant challenge with this anti Semitism bollocks and dealt with it swiftly and decisively while the Tories ran an actual racist campaign with a fraction of the criticism.
  3. Corbyn gets no credit for being consistently and quickly oh the right side of those issues? Or for any contribution to those u-turns (though obviously Tory rebels have had the biggest sway there). He only gets abuse for not gloating and using the issues to play politics after the event? It might harm him that he won't play that game, but if anyone is truly concerned about those issues then corbyn has been consistently on the right side of the debate as his opponent flip flops. Same with the uturn on disability benefits too. Isn't criticising him for these things only evidence of an agenda rather than of any failure of leadership?
  4. No I don't think people give Corbyn approval just because of Cameron's failures. Your view is evidence that people can still think Corbyn is doing a shit job at taking advantage of the Tory implosion. But that's not generally the case, Corbyn's got the best numbers of a labour leader in 3 and a half years in terms of people who think he's doing a good job. Dissatisfaction is also 43% and dropping. It's 5 years since fewer than 43% were dissatisfied with Miliband, and he only had numbers that good in his first 7 months. Not sure that any Labour leader would be taking an opposing view to Cameron on EU right now, just for the sake of giving him a short term political headache.
  5. With his numbers steadily improving for six months?
  6. I think I prefer what would usually be a majority labour group of councillors holding the purse strings than potentially a single tory mayor.
  7. There's a referendum in North Tyneside - voters are being asked whether the council should continue to be run by an elected mayor or if there should be an alternative committee system instead http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/news/north-east-news/everything-you-need-know-north-11275959
  8. South Shields pub murder: Five men arrested http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-tyne-36211101 Never been in this shit hole but my brother's mother in law worked there a while back. Ashgrove radgies.
  9. Got Stewart Lee tickets for the theatre royal too
  10. Mayor Vs Committee No idea of the pros and cons of either, but thinking it'll cost to change to a committee so best left alone. Anyone want to argue against having a mayor and convince me to vote for change?
  11. that would have been what appealed subconsciously. I got these beauties on the same day though. Got some wear out of these ones.
  12. Doubt that. But we will save on washing up, bait, hotel rooms etc. Every penny counts
  13. I'm not that into it. Think it's canny, but as others have said, without reading any of the books or watching them more than once each I only take in the major characters names and plot points. I'll gladly geek out over a show I love though, so it's not a criticism. I enjoyed reading up on all the colour scheme stuff from Breaking Bad, the range of dream interpretations for The Sopranos or going back to watch/read The Corner and Homicide after The Wire.
  14. How dare you!! I do those in when i should be working You, Fish and co seem to have this in your head though, I can't even work out the picture...
  15. I could have replied to the responses to my earlier post, but I thought better of it as I would have been like CT in most threads, completely out of my depth. Best leave the who's, why's and where's to the grade A geeks and just enjoy the tits.
  16. bought these 2 months ago and still haven't wore them Fucking clown shoes! Dafty
  17. I can't imagine there's many teams in the history of the league with such a clean descent. Even when they got relegated with 11 points, Derby got the odd result in the first 10 games that moved them off the bottom for a short while. http://www.statto.com/football/teams/derby-county/2007-2008 Villa's demise has been an unremitting downward spiral without a single thread of optimism to cling onto since they won on the opening day. Ours is a mountain range of peaks and troughs where frequent good results or runs of results have always been followed by a corresponding fall. At least we keep getting back up and fighting.
  18. The Parachute & TV money in the championship will be £22m more than the last time we went down and our most recent wage bill was £6m less than the 08/09 bill we cut by £24m. Ashley had to put £29m in last time we went down, so it looks like we'd pretty much break even in our first season down if we cleared half as much off the wage bill.
  19. Can't fathom the thought process... "Look at the state of these villa wankers with their piss-taking bedsheets, what a collection of cunts. How can i retalliate? Maybe if I do exactly the same it will be hliarious and entertaining, rather than making me just as much of a twat too, especially if Newcastle are still relegation threatened." I was certain it must have been mackems knocking them up to make us look daft. Would hope none show up on TV.
