  1. "He is our player and he is going to stay our player, it's as simple as that," said Kinnear. "I'm not sure of the facts that he (Kennedy) has said that or how it's been interpreted, but what I will say is Shay is contracted until 2011. "We are not interested at all in selling him. I want to clear that - that is probably the last time I will be talking about it. "He is an integral part of the team, he is the best goalkeeper by miles in the league, so why should we jeopardise our chances in the position we are in?" http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ted/7805887.stm
  2. What are you? Famous people on telly? If you're going to have a bet, to the victor go the spoils.
  3. Dorty stopout. Get owt? A dose. I asked for her papers beforehand and everything seemed to be in order with her bareback lisence.
  4. Happy New Year everyone. I'd have said it sooner, but I just got in.
  5. http://www.football365.com/story/0,17033,8...4724888,00.html So the players that ARE fit will be struggling against Hull without fitness training this week.
  6. Liked what I've seen of him, but that was before his injury trouble. Hope it hasn't knackered him.
  7. That is my optimistic view, you dont want to hear my pessimistic/realistic one We're at our lowest ebb in almost 2 decades, and we're still better off than the Mackems who were supposed to push on to the next level this year. We'll always be able to laugh at Sunderland. I was just scanning the odds on Spuds relegation today. Them too. Newcastle 1-0 West Ham (or better) Portsmouth 0-0 Man City (or similar) Arsenal 0-0 Bolton (or better for Arsenal) Will see us back in the top half for the first time since Keegan left come the tenth. As long as Spurs or the Mackems don't have hefty wins.

  10. Its not as if the stats are twisted to make us look bad though. The 2nd half of last season added to the 1st half of this season makes us the worst form team in the league. And the last 2 games dont look like getting us out of that form anytime soon. Its slowly dawning on me that unless we have some major changes this January we could quite easily not just be relegated but finish dead last nono i mean comparing the keegan and kinnear stats the stats overall are shocking but tbh i don't really put it down to managers fault, the squads been weak for a long long time, managers always want to get more players in, and we haven't (without letting people go) which sort of defeats the point. That's where the comparison has value though. Even after having a while in the job and going on a little run after those first 7 games without a win, Keegans next run of 14 games was little better than Kinnears current run which put together have us as the worst team in 2008. It can be argued that those have been our best 2 spells and without the Allardyce/Hughton periods we couldd be 6 points better off, but across 4 separate managers in 1 year the players have never been good enough in any period of time. Half our starting 11 are 22 or under, we need more experienced, consistent players in key positions of defence and attacking midfield. Another change of manager won't change that. I know you haven't said it will but there are those that do.

  12. Why would anyone intervene? Silicon Wadi is the future now all the Russian Jews have put the Palestinians completely out of work.
  13. Keegan's last 14 W5 D4 L5 = 19/42 Kinnear's first 14 W4 D6 L4 = 18/42
  14. Has anyone posted the full set of program notes, I remember reading a lot more when I was pissed.
  15. I've always said the away fans should have a section at pitch level. The best atmosphere's are invariably the result of banter between sets of fans, when that's going on up in the heavens, it never stretches around the stadium.
  16. Aye. Me and Parky thought it was shit. Chez thought it was good.

  18. "Although his own security staff may have warned him to stay away, Northumbria Police have confirmed they issued no formal warnings to the billionaire tycoon." He doesn't say the police told him to stay away btw. His own staff advised him to hire Wise as DOF, that was utter bollocks too.
  19. At someones suggestion (you know who you are) I'm whacking each of these into a blog (well a website was suggested but I ain't that clever). Here's the address http://nufc-ashlies.blogspot.com/ I'm trying to add a bit of background to each one so they'll only go up one at a time when I have a minute. Please pass it on or make comments. Cheers
  20. I think there's plenty of songs new and old and plenty of people singing them. Just that none of those people are in the Gallowgate, East Stand or posh seats. Beye, Butt, Martins, Ameobi, Jonas etc. all have their own songs. I've seen it said on here how "Liverpool slums", "Sign on" and that are cringeworthy too. What are we, running the NME now? Personally I think any song people will join in with is a good song and I'll join in too. Well Im in the NE corner, near enough to hear the Ultras when theyre in good voice and all I can honestly say Ive heard sang is renditions of "toon toon", "Newcastle, newcastle, newcastle.....", "Oba Oba fey" and "stand up if you love the toon" oh and the odd "Habib Beye Beye". If there are new songs doing the rounds then we as fans arent doing enough to get them promoted and known by the majority of fans, Thats not a criticism of the Singing section, its critical of us all, we live in the most technological age ever where it would be possible to write a new song in the morning and have half the crowd knowing it by kick off yet we dont do anything of the sort. How come back in the 70s all the fans knew all the words to all the songs going yet now 3 quarters of the ground dont even know they exist? Maybe if all message boards, websites and fanzines had a concerted effort to get these things sorted then we'd stand a chance, it must happen elsewhere as like I say, the likes of Liverpool have new songs every week or so. My Sbragia chant didn't catch on yesterday like. I think chants generally have to be to Black Lace tunes rather than NWA. The NUSC should run a "create a chant" contest.
  21. Average age of our defence was 22. In fact, take out the strikers and the keeper and I think you could say that about the whole team. Take out Leiva, Babel and Insua and their next youngest player was 24. Literally men against boys.
