  1. You're blaming Kinnear and his judgement of players. I'm saying I blame Ashley. Seems to me Kinnear is making the best he can of a lamentable situation.
  2. Kinnear can't win on that score. He's asking for money to bring people in and getting nowhere. By the end of the season it's likely we'll be without Owen, Viduka and Xisco. Given the noises from his agent it's not unlikely we won't have Martins either. If he'd let Ameobi's contract run out too and he'd walked on a free, Kinnear would be a twat for leaving us with Carroll as the only forward at the club. Ameobi's shit, but at least he's something.
  3. That's Hull and us this season though, won't be much comfort if we finish in the bottom 3 and they are sitting comfortably mid-table. I predict it'll be vice-versa Hull in the bottom 3? 7 points from theire last 12 games. They'd need another 24 to guarantee safety with that kind of form.
  4. And it's not like many of them are good enough to be a big miss. Baye, Martins and mebeez Enrique and Barton. Hardly makes a dint in our first team like Arsenal without Gallas, Fabregas, Walcott and Rosicky. Or Man U without, Rooney, Evra, Ferdinand, Brown and Hargreaves. Injuries, sminjuries. Our squad is utter shite.

  6. Just giving a listen to the new solo album from Omar Rodriguez Lopez (The Mars Volta). Suitably daedal and suprisingly no tracks longer than ten minutes.
  7. How cold was it. Ower the moon when they scored. I was gonna have to go to the pub for extra time if it came down to it. Anyway, we weren't as shit as is being made out. We were pretty shit like, but we had more than enough opportunities to be way ahead. Butt hit the Bar, Xisco blasted over from yards out, Owen clean through hit it at the keeper, then he headed over. Did they have a clearcut chance apart from the goal?
  8. We don need no stinkin badges! Did you see the golden globes? I thought Tom Cruise is starting to get the cut of Humphrey Bogart about him. He's looking geet old either way.
  9. Cannes Film Festival winner Gomorrah has failed to progress in the race for best foreign language film prize at the Oscars next month. The Italian mafia movie, which won the grand prix at the French gala, is not in the Academy's nine-strong shortlist. Golden Globe-winning Israeli animation Waltz With Bashir is joined by films from countries including Austria, Germany, Mexico and Turkey. Five finalists will be announced at the Oscars nominations on 22 January. A total of 65 films were originally considered for selection, and whittled down by members of the Academy. Committees in New York and Los Angeles will spend this weekend watching three of the nine finalists a day to determine the final list. Waltz With Bashir could be in line for two major Oscar nods at the ceremony in the best foreign language and best animation categories. At the Golden Globes earlier this week, it was named best foreign language film but did not make the animated shortlist. The film, which recounts a soldier's experiences in 1980s Lebanon, is also up for best foreign language film at the Baftas, alongside Gomorrah. French film The Class, which scooped the prestigious Palme D'Or at Cannes in May, is among the nine films vying for the Academy Award. Other countries in contention for the Oscar are Japan, Sweden and Canada. The Academy Awards ceremony takes place in Los Angeles on 22 February.
  10. Glenn Roeder said "Glenn Roeder doesn't think Glenn Roeder could have done any more."
  11. I'm going. Not sure I would if good old Mike Ashley didn't give me free cup tickets though.
  12. When he first got into the team and put in a few good performances, the lads I go with took to calling him "Rock Steady". It's use has become increasingly ironic over the last couple of seasons.
  13. They drive a hard bargain Man City like. An openoing bid of £100M? Makes the £3M offered for Given look even cheekier.
  14. 5 years worth of ticket sales to sign 1 player.
  15. I just watched The Evil Dead for the first time, I wouldn't go about telling people it's the best film of 2009. That's because it's shit. Better than Wall E though.

  17. HP don't like it if I get a film list up and he hasn't seen some of em. Only 2 in fact. I don't mind that, it's the fact you think you're above the existing best off 2008 thread.... ....which on further inspection doesn't exist As you were. You seen Hunger or Gommorah? Those are 2 I'm looking forward to. I think I've only been to the flicks once this year. I'm going with... CJ7 Burn After Reading The Counterfeiters There Will Be Blood The Diving Bell and the Butterfly For now.
