I was trying to think of a pre-internet comparison for what Hopkins does. She's not derailing any investiation, but the best I could come up with was Wearside Jack. Using horrific events to pump up her own sense of self importance.

Forgot my pass for work at government buildings this morning. Security guard asked me for a contact number, rang it, asked whoever answered if I worked here and sent me on my way with a temporary pass. It's at times of heightened security like this that our private security firms help make us feel safe.

You lost me. Her hard brexit stance has been played to perfection for you.... even though you prefer the labour vision of brexit? Doesn't sound like something she should hang her hat on for you then.

Not quite the firm commitment to vote Labour i was hoping for. Since being elected leader has May done anything that you respected?

The comments on there can be planted. But Interesting to note the positive and negative counts on them.

Need @Christmas Tree to provide a state of the election address. For Toontastic he's the closest personifaction of the man on the street. I might be mixing her up with The Sun and Katie Hopkins, but she probably echoed it at some point

George Osbourne is the one who's called it a U-turn as editor of the Evening Standard Doing his bit to dig the Tories out of Boris and Gove's Brexit mire. (and his own and Cameron's)

...May went on to claim Corbyn will abolish the army, but she wasn't making fake claims or scare-mongering.

"Since my manifesto was published, the proposals have been subject to fake claims made by Jeremy Corbyn. The only things he has left to offer in this campaign are fake claims, fear and scare-mongering." I'm not sure invoking the spectre of Donald Trump will be a vote winner over here. Nowt Corbyn said was fake btw... https://www.theguardian.com/politics/live/2017/may/22/general-election-2017-theresa-may-social-care-fallout-politics-live?page=with:block-5922c2f4e4b0ca009308ed65#block-5922c2f4e4b0ca009308ed65

Loved the start of the first track on the new Jlin album. Slightly sad that it sounds more like the last album after the first 30 seconds, but that's no bad thing really. Enjoyed the Kate Bushiness of Pumarosa.

Oh, and the Torygraph. Mustn't forget them.

I like how The Sun have gone with a Pirates of the Caribbean front page today and the express with sunny weather. Only the Daily Mail's heart seems to be in the Corbyn bashing any more.

Aye, wonder if she'll change tack from visiting the North East and Wales and Scotland to try to win non-traditional Tory seats and start concentrating on shoring up the support she has.

20 May: Labour closing the gap After the week of the manifesto launches for the main GB-wide parties, the trend of Labour improvement that we've seen throughout the campaign is continuing. In fact, four polls released on Saturday, for the Sunday papers, suggest that the Labour advance has strengthened. And, while the Lib Dems and UKIP are still below where they were when the election was announced, for the first time it looks as though the latest Labour rise is coming at the expense of the Conservatives. The Conservative lead was generally around 20 points or a little above in the middle of April. It's down to between 9 and 13 points in today's polls. As ever, the figures should be treated with caution. It's particularly worth noting that none of the most recent polls come from the companies that tend to put Labour on a lower figure. ICM and Kantar Public both make adjustments based on turnout rates for different groups of people at previous elections. They've had Labour at a lower level than some of the other companies throughout the campaign. So it will be interesting to see whether their next polls follow a similar pattern. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/election-2017-39856354?ocid=socialflow_twitter&ns_mchannel=social&ns_campaign=bbcnews&ns_source=twitter

Was interesting to see all the tories on Gogglebox reacting to the Labour party political broadcast that Ken Loach directed which is just Corbyn talking. All mocking tones and incredulity, then they realise he's talking complete sense and there's no arguing with any of it. Most come around and the worst of them are reduced to a preference for May based on personality. When challenged on that she says she likes May's wardrobe. Fuck the NHS, kids' health, my retirement, foxes and elephants - HE'S NOT WEARING A TIE!

As opposed to the drug industry I assume.

Sunderland stopped their game so they could applaud an opposing player off the field today.

I was round a mates last night and he was asking why I came off. I haven't missed it a bit in the past year or so. Or Instagram. Can't kick the Twitter habit though. The news and football aspect of it. Like a snack size toontastic.

The tightening will also get out any Tories that might have been blasé about voting when it was looking a landslide.
