That's just silly Durham got upgraded with fibre optics, although I thought BT were rolling it out everywhere in the NE have to ask to be moved to FTTC etc, he probably just doesn't know he's paying the same per month as you for 1/2 the speed probably I'm actually paying a few quid less after i upgraded, no reason not to get it if it's available
