He scored a hell of a goal in the warm up a few seasons ago. Long ball form the right, he launched himself off the ground and scissor kicked it into the Gallowgat top corner from 25 yards - just to the left of the D. Got hell of a round of applause for it and seemed pleased with himself. Deserved it for that. Best entertainment all day.

What were the cockney vermin chanting about Roeder? Couldn't make it out on the radio but they said it was something in very poor taste. Rise above it mate Still....Liverpool got beat too!! WOOT! aye. Roeder 2 summer signings that nobody thinks we are better off with score, and a clean sheet by the shit defence. Good performance. Well done Fred......

Fuck me do not read Glenn's comments in the chr

Long time since we had a defender as manager. The fact that he has done nowt about it is amazing. I dont rate Huth at all so not worried about him but there were significantly better available cheaper. -
I am pissed off with them. I have been pissed off for most of the last 2 years, only the 2nd half of last season is when I wasn't. Am I as pissed off as pre-1992 ? Well, I am more disappointed, but that as you say is because we expect or hoped for more. This is my main point about the current board, we have higher expectations, because we are a bigger, better and superior club in every respect. I have no idea where or how this is going to end but overall I feel a lot better now than when Souness was here and overall only the Souness era since 1992 matches the periods pre-1992, of which McGarry was the worst, followed by Ardiles. I was almost as pissed off at the opportunity thrown away under Gordon Lee as I was the Bobby Robson, because I liked Gordon Lee and think that many people misunderstood or just didn't want to understand what he was trying to say. We were clinging onto the 1950's and all he did was try to bring the club into the modern era and was on the way to doing it too. Arthur Cox also eventually found the way forward too, through sheer hard work and good judgement under difficult conditions. Lee and Cox would have done a lot better and could have done very well long term with a supportive board. For the most part, supporting Newcastle has been nothing but a massive disappointment, I would rather list the few periods when I have been happy. What era's do you know mate ? Agree with everything there. Too many false dawns for me. Lee and Cox both left due to the boards ineptitude. Everyone since, other than Keegan and Robson have been poor. Jack Charlton could have done OK in my opinion but he just never fitted with what wanted. Watching George and Cunningham wasnt anyones cup of tea. Anyway, I can moan all I fucking like but I know I will still turn up, pay me money, talk shite and have a pint after and talk even more shite. Would still love to see a few years with a younger manager (Bobby Robson aged 42 would be perfect) and some stability. The club has so much. It is a BIG club. Small clubs occasionally win cups but big ones have the ability to spend (wisely) and ttract huge support. there are others like Villa and Spurs who are taking off with managers who are respected, can attract players and are relatively young. Us? I can just see the next sacking on its way.

Leazes, have you felt this disheartened with us since 1992? Ossie was bad enough but we were used to it. We didnt mind going down as much in the old days. Now we expect a lot better. It just reminds me of the McFaul days when we had a decent season (finished 8th) and then Gazza went, he spent money on the wrong players and you know the rest.... Is it as bad as I think it is? Usually I am optimistic but I dont even bother looking at the chron. I cant get to a game cos of work this month and I rarely miss any game. Never thought I would say this but I am not missing it at all. Pissed off with them. Really am. Its been coming for a long time. One fuck up to the next with some good moments in between. Agree that we need to make sure any succssor to Fred is better than him (and we know what McKeag, Seymour, etc were like as well as Murray and Ellis) but can we settle for what we are getting? More to management than throwing money at managers and the fat fucker thinks he is doing us a favour by employing idiots then giving them fortunes. It isnt management in my book.

Bollocks. Running your heart out ? Kevin Scott used to do that and he was shite aswell. Bellamy, Jenas, Lua Lua and Dyer had/ have talent. Others I haent mentioned were the equal of Taylor and Milner so far. Milner is poor. Taylor has done nowt - dives in far too often, has had his fair share of clangers and is sadly pedestrian paced. As for the excitement Milner gives us? He makes Kenny Wharton look pacey. Did you see him at Villa? Exciting? He couldnt kick Gemmills arse and apparently there is a big enough target. Some people are easy pleased. Zog is decent. We deserve better than the crumbs of comfort a kid like him provides. The last time I felt like this was the season we sold Gazza (and that was a kid kept us up almost single handedly - Goddard scored the goals but everyone knows where the difference in the side lay). Were headed towards some almighty shite if the fat fucker doesnt sort himself out. Roeder needs to go but he isnt the only one.
-
We are fucked if we are relying on kids like him. The club is down the pan. 5 years ago we had decent kids. Now we have young lads who belong at mediocre prem or championship sides. Bellamy, Dyer, Lua Lua, Jenas were all good players. Even Hugo was light years ahead of Milner. Bramble was better than Taylor at his age. Taylor, Milner, Ramage arent good enough at present. Taylor may be decent but so far has shown fuck all. Too much hype and not enough substance. Zog is decent but rapidly seems to have been rated as something I just dont see. Good, yes. Better than that at present? Nope. Club is rotten from top to bottom.
-
Taylor and Ramage are light years behind the rest. Ramage is an accident waiting to happen. HE needs moving on to the Championship (hopefully not with us). Taylor has shown more than his fair share of fuck ups in Black and white never mind recent England ones. Where the hell he gets the 'special' tag from is mystifying.

I'm usually very forgiving but he has had one chance too many now. Has all the physical attributes but needs to go somewhere else. Still cant believe we didnt make and better attempt at getting Woodgate. Love watching him play - even if it is for 3 matches a season.
-
Apparently Bellamy walked out of Mellwood Friday. Few comments from Lineker and Hansen on MOTD and some stirring up going on Liverpool forums. Wait and see with that one. 2002 we had as good a forward line as anyone.

I would agree that any board/chairman has to make good appointments or they themselves will be finished, rightly so, and ours are no exception. But to say they have not supplied funds, or even backed the Scottish fuckpig, is not true. The useless cunt had all the financial backing he could have asked for, and more, far too much. We are still paying for it and will be for a while yet. Roeder has spent money on 2 players, they must deliver, because we cannot afford to continue wasting big money transfer fees, and yes the board cannot continue throwing money at managers, if Roeder is replaced by Shearer, it may well be their last throw of the dice and after yesterdays woeful performance, it makes you wonder just how influential that Shearer was last season at Roeders side, maybe he needs him. Or maybe yesterday is just a bad day at the office. Time will tell. You cannot make excuses for lack of fire and desire though, and apart from Parker especially it wasn't there. Zoggy made some runs but had an off day. Emre battled hard, but I would rather have kept Bowyer and would move Emre on if we can get the chance. Time will tell, youre right there. Its not looking good though is it? Cant understand the Bowyer thing Leazes. He had 1 decent game in all the time was here. Hopeless. Emre isnt much better but usually passes to men in black and white, unlike our Lee. Bowyer gave the worst performance I ever saw from a black and white last year (against Fulham). Totally unprofessional and got himself involved in trying to boot Bouba Diop (who he failed to catch up with never mind kick) while we were getting beat. Rightly booted out. Not for the Fulham debacle, just for being shite. Played to his usual standard today as well. Tommy Craig and Shearer were both there last season with Roeder. He often seemed to take advice from both. Like you say, it makes you wonder. Last chance saloon for a lot of people (including a lot of supporters I would think)

I cant get to any game in Sept due to work commitments but the slating he got on SKY was over the top. Thompson etc just had loads of clips of him fucking up and ignored the fact that he has been fine this season. The usual shit really. Most of it was true but it was pure character assassination in what they perceived was a humerous manner. If he saw that then anyones confidence would be fucked. About 5 minutes of 4 blokes telling the world that he has zero attributes (which is just plain old wrong) although Paul Walsh was a little more positive. We do need an entire back four though x 2. Not convinced at all by Taylor. Ramage is worse than we have had in years (and I mean since Ossies days when he still would have struggled to get a game). Bramble needs somone decent alongside him if he is to be useful. Fullbacks arent good enough. Didnt see yesterdays game other than sky so cant really judge but me dad reckons we will struggle and hes usually right when he says stuff like that - he is generally optimisitic.
-
The worst scenario you can get at the match. Sat in the East Stand a few seasons ago and the bloke next me was regularly shouting "Dyer you fucking useless black cunt" and the like. I tried to suggest that even though many folk are thinking lkewise it isn't such a good idea to be using racist abuse so openly. He took no notice, eventually someone with less tact than myself told him to shut his fucking mouth or he would do it for him. Even yesterday a guy behind me asked the two fellas sitting on my left to stop smoking in an almost apologetic manner - his right and I fully agreed with his request. Fellas on my left pretty much told him to mind his own business. Then the fella behind said 'i've asked you nicely not to smoke, now I'm telling you ....." They didn't light up again.

Hall did, to Gateshead. They called his bluff 195616 they knew he was bluffing 195698 Shame they didnt make it in some ways but the whole plan was huge at one point and included the idea of transforming SJP didnt it? He was talking of hockey, rugby etc in there. In the end I was pleased it didnt come about and still think the ground looks good. Looked better when a bit more symmetrical with 36000 but that was never going to last. The East Stand has obviously changed but it looks vaguely like it used to (on the inside - the outside and even the upstairs bit hasnt changed since the 70s really) and the sentimental side of me likes that. On the other hand it is the ugliest bit of the ground. Not sure but certainly like the idea of staying where we have always been.
-
Eh? The Castle Leazes site is only another 100 or so yards. 195695 So you agree that SJP is closer to town then
-
My head said move to Castle Leazes but heart still says keep it at SJP. Mind you might have removed the need for Ruud Gullit to get an exorcist

It happened Gol. Loads of stories in various newspapers at the time and well before he was anywhere near signing for Man Utd. Was in McFauls reign too - maybe 86 or 87. Seriously, I read them. Bought them at paper shop and everything Can remember it being much talked about when he did finally surface at Old Trafford.

It sounds like what you're doing is correct, sounds like two tables... Table 1 - CD ID CD Title Artist Year etc Table 2 - Tracks ID CD_ID Track Name Running Time etc In both cases make the ID fields the Unique Primary Key. Link the two together via a One to Many on the ID and CD_ID field and it should work, if you look at the SQL view of the Query it should look summit like this: SELECT * FROM Tracks INNER JOIN CD WHERE cd.ID = Tracks.CD_ID; What exactly is happening? nothing at all? or are you getting an error message? 194303 I have named the "CD_ID" field "Track Number" and have also inserted a field called "Album Title". Which of these should I link the ID from table 1 to .... and how do I link it to 2 fields in the 2nd table, it won't let me do it ??? Table 1 has ID, Title, Artist, Year, Format, Comments Table 2 has ID, Album Title, Track Nr, Song title, comments 194898 basically you need to do the following: Table one Id as primary key and title, artist, album Table 2 Id (no primary key in this table), tracks (but if e.g. The Clash is 1 in table 1, then you need to label every track on this album 1 in the id field in this table) I would put track number, year, etc in this table Relate the two id fields from table 1 to table 2. that works. There is an easier way but its late and brain isnt working. Try it though. It will work.
-
Willie McFaul constantly had him watched and we were apparently very close to signing him well before he got to Manchester - a good few years earlier in fact. It was quite big news at the time (when we were shit)

What was happening was simply that I was not getting the + sign , and that is the format I wanted to do it in as it is the way I am learning to do it. I realise I can do it via reports/queries but I'm not quite at that stage yet .... the annoying thing is all the reports/queries section of access quite easy, it is the relationship and subdata sheets that is a bit difficult to grasp or should I say I did get it right and thought it was wrong because the old version wasn't doing what the up to date ones do. The only messages I am getting is validation ones, sometimes. I have been told to use a double primary key to get a "one to many" relationship but it won't let me do this either. Your table 1 above is exactly what I have for table 1, and in table 2 I have got Album title [again - to connect a relationship] along with Track number, track title and a section for comments etc. 194802 Didnt realise you were going to put the songs on it leazes. To be honest I would probably just decice to use something like itunes and burn your cds onto it. That way gracenote creates what you want - i.e. gives you names of albums and song lists as well as keeping a copy of cd on pc. doesnt take up much memory relative to an average pcs storage capacity. Also means you dont have to type anything in.If you do persevere with the database then feel free to email the idea to me and i will create it for you. wont take long. depends on what you want doing. If its just a basic one ot many relationship then create the table as pud says then go to relationship and link from table one ot two. But be very careful with the option for referential integrity. This is particularly important when you dont use the autofields and depends on you to enter accurate data. Cheers
-
Not sure what youre trying to do but a flat file table would be enough for this type of database - linked to a basic query. You could do that and link it to a report. You trying to build a system for them? If that is the case then I would do a web based one using something like mysql or just a dreamweaver thing linked to your access flat file. Alternatively, I have thousands of cds and just put them in alphabetical order.

Hope to fuck you were being sarcastic there

Even more insulting than "Geordie women are dogs"
gram replied to Gemmill's topic in Newcastle Forum
Without a doubt a striker was a priority- but £10m was a big hit (even though I think Martins is a quality player and have big hopes for him). We're going to have little choice but to play to our strengths this season- it will be interesting to watch but unless we tighten up the back we'll be dropping too many points on the road. I really think we could have done with cheap but experienced depth at the back and I can't see how it would have prevented us signing Martins- as we obviously had at least £4m available for our attempt for Huth (which I assume was partly linked with the Viduka and Milner deals). Unlike attackers where we all know there is no substitute for class, you get by with moderate defenders until you hit the top echelons of the league (which isn't really our target right now). I don't rate Moore personally while Bramble looks back to his 'old worst' and Taylor will be rusty and still is far from the finished article. We could have probably shored up the defence pretty well for no more than £4-5m (wage bill permitting of course). I say this now in hindsight but if you'd have asked me in May I'd have said the same. Perhaps the most disappointing thing about the window was Roeder's spin. He's either continually lied to us or we are useless at closing deals. I don't think it's the latter- with the sort of wedge going round at SJP once we get a player talking seriously we win more than we lose. Roeder had always come across as an honest bloke but let's face it, he's had us strung along all summer. Mind you, if Zat Knight is the calibre of player we're after and we were prepared to outbid Boro's hefty £6m for Huth, perhaps it's a let off after all....... 192744 I dont rate Roeder as either the best or worst manager we have had. However, I honestly think he is an honest bloke. Dont think his record as captain or manager suggests he would bullshit in this way. I think he wants to appease the fans and was naive in telling us that we were close. In future i suspect he will keep his trap shut until he is certain rather than 99%. Despite the kids on NO suggesting Taylor is the next Bobby Moore for the last year, i have seen more than enough rash challenges and bluster to worry me. Titus was further ahead than Taylor at 19. He is also lacking in real pace andm dives in far too often. Hope he learns but not convinced at all. Moore is steady at best Ramage wont be a footballer at that level as long as he draws breath. Bramble, as we all know, has the footballing abililty but no concentration and makes daft decisions. He does bring the ball out and despite many saying he hoofs it into row Z every time....well that is nonsense. He overhits occasionally but more often than not plays short to midfielders or fullbacks pushing on. It worth the ambitous passes and many hit the target. Basically the three added up couldnt kick Woodgates arse. For entertainments value I would have him here just to see a proper centre half again. Only ever seen one in a black and white shirt. -
Probably agree with best 11 although would wait til Bernard shows what he can do - if he does what he did in first spell then he is here. Dont like Taylor at centre back neve mind right back so would put Carr back in. Not sure he is as bad as some would like to have us believe. As for Saturday. I wouldnt pick Milner for any NUFC side. He tries hard but he is one paced, cant cross a ball and all too often ends up failing to provide anything either on or off the ball. Solano was excellent at the end of last season and unlike the bairns on NO I would happily give him time to regain that form. So one man up front supported by the two wide players Duff and Zog. Push Nobby inside with Emre and Parker and make sure we win the midfield battle. Last season against them we failed to tame their midfield - Bowyer gave the worst performance I have seen in a black and white shirt (at least Pat Heard et al went for the ball rather than his own petty battles) and we were fortunate. Prefer to do that with 3 higher up the pitch and press them. Perfer 442 but we havent got the men to do it.

and you are ? 190838 are you shy ? 190920 Course I am, that's why i've knocked every argument you've thrown at me out of the park Leazes, the crux of your argument seems to be that very few chairmen have been at the helm of the club when in this high position whether it be now or in the past. What you fail to mention is that Freddy didn't build the club up to this position. He took over from Sir John Hall after he'd done all the leg work turning this club into something and Fat Fred since presided over farce after farce after farce and is very slowly but surely dragging this club down. That my friend is a FACT! 191084 And did you say this when we were winning in Rotterdam ? And last season, we actually moved back up from 14th to 7th, after they realised and admitted their mistake, and found the money to take action ? And that my friend is a FACT. We were indeed 2nd under Sir John when he left. Nobody is saying Shepherd is better than what SJH was, certainly not me. But another FACT is that under the current board and chairman, we have - for the first time in over 50 years - finished in the top 5 of the top league for 3 successive seasons. That is a FACT. We have developed the ground in the last decade, this is going forward in that respect. FACT. We have opened a new training complex and academy, this is going forward. FACT. If you are going to persist in your notion that we have gone backwards since finishing 2nd - why do you think anyone has a divine right to stay 2nd forever ? And would you also say that the Arsenal board have gone backwards since they won the league so they must be shite ? Are you going to say the manu board are now shite because they have gone backwards since winning the European Cup ? Because like it or not my friend, Shepherd was a major board member when we last finished 2nd in the league and is STILL not the major controlling shareholder, just like now, and that is also a FACT. The club is STILL run by essentially the SAME BOARD. FACT. 191360 Thats a weak argument to be fair. 10 years ago the Liverpool and Arsenal were behind us. We lost momentum and have never recovered. Whose responsbility is it to renew the momentum we lost? We all know the history since 1996 as thats when everyone but you started going so dont bother with the 'did you think Dalglish was a good move stuff?' The chairman? How? By employing the right people? Is Glen Roeder the man for it? Or was Graeme Souness? Who employed them? Please dont peddle an answer to a totally different question. This is the bit I want answering. Do you agree with the bits in bold? The night in Rotterdam was fun but what did it prove? That we couldnt cut it earlier on? Or later on. We redeemed ourselves that night for earlier errors and it was exciting. However, its highly unlikely that Liverpool fans would settle for it and where were they 4 years ago ar 10 years ago? Do you think Liverpool fans would rabbit on about a game that was a first qualifying group game like they had won a cup? It s step up for us but if that is the limit then we are screwed. Sadly we look highly unlikely to see it again in the near future and who is ultimately responsible for that? (i.e. Who employed and threw money at a shite manager?) Liverpool realised that they had fucked up and did something about it. Us? We employed Glen Roeder and built some lovely dressing rooms that are apparently 5 star. Just what the fans want
